kdk, I'm the granny of this thread, not literally, I'm 48! I only go out on the lash very occasionally as I have grown out of it, almost, which is good as I thought it would never happen. Usually start off meeting friends for a meal but most often than not I end up partying all night, so there is still life in the old dog yet.

I've met a couple of people off the dating sites during the day too. Much prefer a sober date the first time so that my judgement isn't clouded when I make the decision to see them again.

I agree, daytime sober dates are more real, but also less likely to lead to outrageous flirting and/or anything physical (even goodbye kiss). Not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but last guy I went out with (we'll call him Idiot Loser because that's what I've entered him in my phone as) didn't drink, so we met for coffee and it was a real refreshing change actually. Having said that, it took much longer for us to get round to having our first kiss and got to a point where I felt I needed to kiss Idiot Loser to establish how I really felt about him.

Can I just get some advice? I noticed since changing my main profile pic I've been getting less emails although I thought it was the better pic out of the lot. In fact, hardly getting any contacts at all with this pic, and not sure why. My pof username is Tinkywinks - any other advice about my profile also welcome, but mainly is my main profile pic ok or would you use one of the others?

I think your profile pic is lovely too. It's a bit blurry so that might be the reason. Change it back to the original one and see what happens.

I tend to have mrjack over when kids are in bed to watch a dvd or i get a babysitter and we go out, usually alternate it tho so it doesnt cost me loads and he quite often pays when we are out (gent) even tho i do offer so although i pay a babysitter the eve doesnt cost me a fortune. I havent been on any day dates, did have a date over coffee because we were both driving but to be honest it was the most akward date ive had.

wg-i think ur pic is great but it might be the fact u cant see much of ur face when its in the search lists because it only shows part of the pic? and is a little blurry?

talking of mrjack and me saying id like to see him more, he asked to come over last night but id already decided on an early night so told him no lol, was 9 oclock when he asked mind u

Thanks for your kind comments, I changed it to the original main pic (flower in hair pose) and I'm getting responses again! I'd like to change the cropping but can't remember how to do it, maybe I have to reload it?

Ok, I don't mean to get carried away here, well I AM getting carried away but can't help it, just got a fb email of Fit Friend. This is a childhood family friend of mine that I haven't seen in 15 years but has recently contacted me. Seen his pics and he has turned from frumpy awkward geeky boy into hunky scrumptious dark and mysterious man. We've exchanged a couple of emails, he just wrote and said something really nice "you were always a beautiful soul and I am sure he is just a reflection of you in every way" talking about ds. He said he wants to call and meet up real soon (he's not far). He also said that he works near where I used to work and always thinks of me everytime he passes by.

I wish I could stop my mind from ticking overtime, I've already imagined him taking out the rubbish for me.

and..... met big ducks this afternoon. went for coffee.. he asked me back to his (he's doing a music course.. i wanted to hear a song he had written .. great excuse)...

met his dad.. then his sister made a suprise visit with his gran x 2!!

i behaved (well a little clothed fondle in the music studio doesn't count does it )

and he brought up the subject of still being on to meet for sat, so looks like we're on for a 2nd date.

really quirky.. geek chic type in tall dark variety.and his chocolate lab is my new best friend which always goes down well with a dog loving male as lou knows

oh juice yes its always good to ingratiate yourself with the pooch

i took some of my kids tot heir father yesterday and when i got back boris went bonkers with joy at seeing me, mechanic was extremely surprised and pleased

boris was wagging his tail and yelping in glee, running in circles, trying to open the metal gate between my drive and the garden

i know he likes me though as he tries to sleep on my head, and wakes me up by nudging me then throwing himself on his back for me to tickle his tum

if that doesnt work he licks my face

and yes we are still talking about the dog not the mechanic
