Part 15 still lurking about, I believe.

Hello, not been on this thread before but I was single for 5 years after having my ds (who is 4.5), finally plucked up courage to go on a dating site, when out with someone for a couple of months who I wasn't sure about initially but he was VERY enthusiastic and he really grew on me. I just started falling for him then he dumped me on New Years Day - nothing personal apparently, he thinks I'm 'fantastic' but he is looking for 'the one' and I am not 'the one'.

After two weeks of feeling heartbroken, I read Paul Mckenna's "I can mend your broken heart" and feel much better for it!

Anyway, back on the site, I got a phone call from a guy - we've had some email exchange - but was so shocked to hear he was VERY Scottish. Got nothing against it but just didn't expect it. That's the problem with these sites, it's very hard to get a sense of someone just by a photo and some text.

sincitylover · 16/01/2010 21:29

fine thx asbm. Have just been to pics to see In the Air starring George Clooney (my fav)- quite a good wry film.

Am receiving many messages on the site but no-one who takes my fancy. But flattering nonetheless. One said he was certain he wanted to be with me!!!

Am still communicating with the gardener (who is I think not decisive enough for me) and Mr Happy. Who although professing to be happy and laid back is actually a bit prickly.

Have txted exbf twice (sorry juice) - he is in a non communicative phase again. When he's like this I always ask him if he wants to stop. Having experienced stalker behaviour don't want to be like one (difft situation I know)

RL friend not too bad we should meet up tomorrow.

What are you up to tonite?

sincitylover · 16/01/2010 21:31

Ps my film now on Bridget Jones - workhubby says I am very similar to her!!! (ditzy mainly)

aseriouslyblondemoment · 16/01/2010 21:31

kdk what if he did look like that tho?
unfortunately there's always the element of doubt with these sites
and sometimes it can work in your favour!!
he does look v.much like a boden catalogue man tho which would be a red flag for me as i'd expect him to wear cords and those hideous red tory boy trousers
in the interests of this thread we i think you should contact him for some more info

sincitylover · 16/01/2010 21:38

also the skirt tucked in knickers syndrome - I actually did that at friends wedding

ninah · 16/01/2010 21:57

pmsl at red tory boy trousers
and yes the cords would be those thick ones
glad to hear all is going so well with you asbm
lol at juicy and the neck cricker, yes this is worse than the slightly off hair but not as bad, let's face it, as the thumb sucker
soh anon I have texted and met for coffee but on a purely platonic basis and have resisted evening invitations, pats self on back

kdk · 16/01/2010 21:58

Will think about contacting him, just for research purposes - but nominate you to go for the date though!

And done the knicker one as well - all the way down Oxford Street after trying something on in M&S at Marble Arch and then traipsed all the way to Tottenham Court Road showing my (sadly not best) pants to all and sundry.

kdk · 16/01/2010 22:00

& hi Whethergirl - pull up a chair, pour yourself a drink and make yourself at home.

I'm kdk, the world's (or MN's anyway) least successful internet dater - but there are lots on here who can give you hope that there can be a happy ending!

ninah · 16/01/2010 22:02

I had to look him up and actually I quite fancy him but he is so obv out for a a shag and nothing else

aseriouslyblondemoment · 16/01/2010 22:04

much like you scl missing the rabble enjoying some me time
v.much doubt that juicy will give you a telling off tbh lol
she's already confessed
hi whethergirl, sorry to hear about your crappy start to the NY
are you going to meet up with this scotsman?

sincitylover · 16/01/2010 22:10

where is p asbm?

aseriouslyblondemoment · 16/01/2010 22:10

omfg kdk you didn't?
{cringing on your behalf emoticon}
and yes do contact him
at worst he's a saddo liar and we you can have a laugh
or he could be for real!!
but going on first impressions false? pic aside his profile reads SHAG to me
evening ninah!

kdk · 16/01/2010 22:13

Just wondered - has anyone ever messaged anyone to ask why they hadn't responded or why they hadn't messaged you after looking ie like if you have an interview and don't get the job and ring to get feedback?

ninah · 16/01/2010 22:13

yeah, deffo shag only

aseriouslyblondemoment · 16/01/2010 22:13

oh he's doing a shitty night shift scl
but tbh i'm enjoying complete p&q

aseriouslyblondemoment · 16/01/2010 22:15

only from stalkers men kdk

kdk · 16/01/2010 22:20

just wondered that's all - just wondering why a certain dickhead guy has started blanking me and would in some ways like to know which part of my last message upset his obviously delicate sensibilities [rushes off hit delete message button]

sincitylover · 16/01/2010 22:27

not usually kdk.

Rarely analyse the minuatie (sp) with online stuff.

ninah · 16/01/2010 22:30

no don't go there kdk
you're the buyer, remember?

kdk · 16/01/2010 22:30

you're right scl - just curious - sadly I think my sense of humour/style of writing doesn't work well online ...

kdk · 16/01/2010 22:31

whoops- and meant to say, just wanted confirmation of that - as if it that, I could try and change it ... though maybe shouldn't as it is the way I am IRL if that makes sense

ninah · 16/01/2010 22:34

don't change! no, no, NOOOOO!
man pleasing is a full time job with dismal prospects

sincitylover · 16/01/2010 22:36

kdk you shouldn't try to change who you are.

You are a witty lovely woman.

kdk · 16/01/2010 22:39

honestly I don't want to change - just think that sometimes i can be what I think is being mildly ironic/dry and people take it the wrong way - ah well, their loss not mine.

And I think I failed basic man pleasing let alone advanced!

whethergirl · 16/01/2010 22:42

Thanks kdk and aseriouslyblondemoment....haven't actually spoken to him yet (he left a voicemsg) so we'll see how the convo goes. Has anyone here read The Rules and what do you make of it? Or any of the Christian Carter stuff?
