Hi, I had a good night last night apart from DD coming in earlier when he was still here so she kicked off again! Don't know how I can handle her atm. It's a nightmare. I don't get any space or privacy at all, feel like I have to give up on men until she starts to lead her own life which doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon.

Needless to say he has broken finger syndrome today . He's also much younger than me so cannot see it progressing more than an fb relationship.

Betty you could mention NYE casually although in my experience the festivities can be tricky when it comes to a new relationship so I personally would do the family thing and keep the new guy separate until you are on a firm footing.

Betty79 · 13/12/2009 22:02

eve-must be tricky with dd at that age

havent decided properly about the nye yet, but prob if this hadnt come up i wudnt be introducing kids to him yet so its a tough one

spicemonster · 13/12/2009 22:59

He rang again this evening. I have sent him an email telling him that I don't think it's going to work and wishing him luck in finding someone.

DONTtouchMUMSfestiveJUICE · 14/12/2009 08:54

spice - good thing to do.. thats alot of texts and calls that you haven't responded too. bit worrying.

eve - nothing wrong with an xmas fb.

bluebell.... he had a run in with his ex. calling her some pretty shitty names. this annoys me tbh.

a) i dont want to know about this kinda stuff so early on
b) she's still mother of his kids, regardless if she's pain in the ass there is some things he shouldn't be saying about her
c)wouldn't want to get involved with someone who's so bitter still over a break-up

went to irish for quick visit last night. my turn to make sunday dinner.

had a hormonal wobble about this yesterday. just gotta hold it together till the new year.wish my AF would hurry up. it's a double one so super super hormonal.

lou - batman will be very nicely cooked golden for you

betty - i also think still bit early to throw new man in for new year. i know it would be nice to have them all together. but he will be meeting your family and your kids in under 1 month of meeting you? or is it longer?... thats scarey by my book. but maybe not by his. your call at end of the day

Betty79 · 14/12/2009 09:02

juice-i think ur prob right, he woudnt be meeting my family it's a friends party but as i say i wud normally take the kids.

was the hormonal wobble over irish or in general? As for bluebell, dont think I'd want to hear a rant about the ex either

Betty79 · 14/12/2009 09:03

I need to go xmas shopping today but really dont want to arghh!

lou33 · 14/12/2009 09:09

me too betty

eve, if it were my dd i would just tell her to put up with it, that i was entitled to a social life just like she thinks she is, and that in a few years she will be off doing her own thing, not bothering what you would think of

if she kicked off in front of any guest at mine i would boot her backside up and down the road until she apologised to them

and dd1 is almost 18

you are going to have to stand firm on this i think

its not like she walked in and found you in the middle of a finger cuffing (is it?)

DONTtouchMUMSfestiveJUICE · 14/12/2009 09:10

it was in general. but was sorely tempted to tell irish i couldn't even be friends. completely a hormone thing. as feel back to normal today and dont have any problem with the situation.

i wish knight had tried calling again. he would have got an earful.

i stopped and rewrote the messages to bluebell several times as i was tempted to write.

"grow up and piss off if thats your attitude to mother of your dc"

thank goodness i'm done my xmas shopping. good luck.

and just take kids as normal. there may well be other years

lou33 · 14/12/2009 09:11

oh i forgot to add, yes it will be really nice to see batman again

he was getting a bit regretful we hadnt met up more, but theres not a lot to be done about that

i'm meeting the mechanic on weds evening for an hour or so, im driving so wont be drinking

lou33 · 14/12/2009 09:21

omg exh has emailed me asking me for a favour

but only a tiny miniscule one according to him

he wants some guy to drop various bits of tat from freecycle to mine and for me to store them until he can get htem

pffft , seeing as i am the most vindictive person he ever had the misfortune to meet, im gonna ignore it

or maybe i should just copy and paste his email back to him as a hint
he ha such a fucking cheek

lou33 · 14/12/2009 12:36

i told him after his classy remark aimed at me he could probably guess my reply

and he has said

In relation to that quote it was about how after 4 years of struggle I am just about pulling myself up.
I have been here only two months and already you are trying to stunt my progress.
I think your answer to this very simple favour actually highlights exactly how any progress by me to improve my life
is actually what you want to stop.

whatever high faluted reasons appear to be to you, about helping kids etc

am not replying to it dont worry, its pointless arguing with someone like him

Betty79 · 14/12/2009 13:02

lou what a selfish prick, he's living in his own little world me me me

lou33 · 14/12/2009 13:34

4 years i have had this

its never going to stop

he has some funny ideas about getting his life on track by thinking me getting him some storage jars will help

and you can see why i have now withdrawn my help

i did warn him, if he started acting like a prick again i would stop helping

obviously he doesnt take anything on board aside from how i am trying to ruin his life

hatesponge · 14/12/2009 13:35

lou - I thought my ex was a complete tosser, however I think yours could give him a run for his money...I know what you mean about not replying - when my Ex comes out with some crap & gets on his high horse I tend to tyr and ignore him, which I think irritates him more as when we were together i always used to rise to the bait!

Was hoping for advice from you ladies actually - 2 of my Match men have asked me to go for a drink before Xmas ...so far so good...however the only night I can really do is this Friday. Man1 (will have to think of a name for him, possibly Mr Unreliable given what im about to say) asked first, we provisionally agreed last Sat that we would meet up on Fri. We have exchanged mobile nos and have sent a few texts back & forth - however the last I heard from him was Sat night, he phoned me (for our first actual chat) spoke for a while then I had to go - so he said he'd call me Sunday. Which he didnt, and not heard from him today either though I checked earlier & he was online.

Now if after speaking to me he's had second thoughts, I dont mind. Well, not much anyway The real problem is that Man2 emaield me yesterday to ask when I'm free - he's nice, though if I had the choice I'd prefer no 1. Don't want to tell 2 I'm busy til after Xmas, as I might not be if I dont hear from 1 again however dont want to make plans with 2 now in case 1 suddenly reappears.......or should I do that and then just make 1 wait another week?

lou33 · 14/12/2009 13:40

i would say to man number one,he had to let you know about the weekend by tomorrow morning or you will be unable to sort a sitter

then if he doesnt reply, go meet man number 2

and omg did anyone notice i am meeting someone for a drink on weds!!!!

hatesponge · 14/12/2009 13:50

thanks lou - so should I email/text no 1 then to see if he's still on for Fri? I suppose then if he has changed his mind about me/fri he can just make up some excuse! And at least then I can make arrangements with no 2.

And I hope your date goes well on Weds!

lou33 · 14/12/2009 14:26

text him as not everyone checks emails daily

tell him you need to hear by tomorrow morning, then tell number 2 guy you will let him know tomorrow afternoon

if he doesnt get back to you by tomorrow morning then take matters into your own hands and go for plan b

mechanic seems v nice, well behaved, not leery show us your tits kind of guy

38, 6ft tall, short hair, DIVORCED (for those who think i have a married man thing) and no kids, and he is on good terms with his exw still (she is on his fb and impossibly gorgeous)

lives about 40 mins from me, he is driving down after work to a place near me, though like i said i told him i can only stay an hour or so

DONTtouchMUMSfestiveJUICE · 14/12/2009 14:33

lou - date sounds good.

sponge - text no1 , give him dealine. then arrange with no 2 if dealine not met.

lou33 · 14/12/2009 14:35

he seems more excited than me about it, sent me a text saying he cant wait

but he does seem decent, so a drink wont harm will it?

aseriouslyblondemoment · 14/12/2009 14:41

ooh will be back on later to catch up on this fella lou{nosey emoticon!!}
have had busy few days and am offskies for school run so will trawl read thru later
hoping everyone's good

OP posts:
lou33 · 14/12/2009 14:55

he isnt a new fella lol

im just meeting him for a drink

tho he did say he wasnt looking for a fling....eek

christmaseve · 14/12/2009 15:07

Lou, sounding good. I'm excited for you even if your not. lol

Agree sponge pin him down to find out where you stand. Then go for no 2 if he bolts. No 1 does sound rather unreliable already so be warned.

My new friend text me at 10.45 last night as he was having a drink near me to see if he could call round. Definitley and fb relationship in the making.

I was fast asleep so missed it but was woken up by DD at 3 am, there was an explotion in the street and it was alight. Had to ring 999! Fire service, ambulance and police turned up, hope no-one was hurt, think it was fireworks dumped in a bin and set alight. Could still hear them going off after the fire engine turned up.

So I text fb telling him and apologising in case I'd woken him. Not heard back yet.

Betty79 · 14/12/2009 15:19

oooh lou a date-i did notcie before but think i got sidetracked by ur comment about ex!

sponge-i would do what others have said give no.1 a deadline to get back to u to arrange date, or arrange one with no 2. You never know u might find u like no 2 better if u meet face to face.

managed to get some more xmas shopping done this morning, but still got a few bits to get. just been to school nativity too dd2 had speaking part and did really well, was very proud.

christmaseve · 14/12/2009 15:25

All the nativity stuff is along time behind me now .

Have now got round to writing cards and wrapping most the the christmas presents today. Nice to feel I'm getting there. Got the works do on Friday. Finish early then go for lunch, I will be driving back to town, then we all go out for as long as we want to. It's in the next town and I've got the keys to stay at a relatives as the flat is empty.

Will need to remind myself not to drink too much and make a prat of myself in front of colleagues. Think I will write it on a post it note and stick it on my hand.

Betty79 · 14/12/2009 15:35

meant to say dd1 had speaking part, dd2 is only in reception so have got a few years of nativity yet

I havent started wrapping, havent even put my tree up yet am waiting till kitten goes tonight then will put it up

lol eve what's wrong with having a few too many and making a prat of urself on works xmas do? I normally do

I'm out friday after work i think, a few of us from work are going into town.
