Ok an update from OJ for those that have been asking

You know how the last three years have been so bloody difficult and over that time i have shared a lot on MN which in turn has meant that i have had a huge amount of support which frankly still blows me away. you have walked beside me throu the tears so i think it is only fair that you get to share the joy

The kids continue to make me proud and amaze me in equal measures they have coped with the death of their lovely dad far better than i could have imagined.
i am doing really well, it has been almost 16 months now and i have adjusted to the new life i didn't want or choose and.............................
i feel very lucky for what we do have now.
some of you have asked on facebook what it is that is making me smile and the answer is.......... i have been seeing someone who is very special and he has made me feel very special too.
He says that he understands that i will always love Steve and he doesn't want that to ever change but hopes that i have enough love to share with him

I have read your threads from the beginning OJ but never posted. Your story has truly affected me in ways that you could never imagine. Through adversity you have grown strong and shown courage. I wish you, Tom and your children peace and happiness.

oj hope you dont have any more probs with monster in laws.They have caused u enough pain in the past so its time u r happy and loved for who u are.Steve did truly love
you and u couldnt do any more than wot u did .I am so sure steve would be truly happy for you to have some one to love you and your children.Life does move on even if its not how we would like it too.Hope its not too early but have a wonderfull christmas.With the people u love .xxxxx

Tom has been working for most of the weekend, he came over after his morning shift with his son which was nice, i will see him tomorrow night, he has tickets for us to go and see ricky gervais at the end of november, we just need to book the hotel now.
In-laws appear to have found out and they are not happy but then they have never been happy so i was expecting it.
We are looking at booking a holiday for february, all 5 kids and two grown ups are very excited!

Fuck the in-laws OJ. Whatever you do wouldn't be right. Your happiness for yourself and your children is what matters and as long as Tom is a good man, they should count their lucky stars you have found someone after all you went through who is making you and your DC smile.

Nothing to do with them OJ and after all the shit they gave you before i would think their views would be right at the bottom of any consideration.Dont give them another thought ,just enjoy what you have now found with Tom.

Dare I ask, or has it already been asked - Are there new in-laws to meet?

I know i will never gain the in-laws approval so i need to accept that.
Toms parents both died some years ago, so no in-laws for me.
everything is going very very well i am trying to accept being this happy but a small part of me is worried it may all be snatched away, i think given time it will be all ok.

i can understand you thinking that Oj after the experience you had to go through,but in time you will be more confident about your new relationship.I expect you are afraid that something is going to happen to spoil your it,but im sure it wont ,just accept it and dont waste time worrying about the "what ifs" You deserve to be happy again and i believe things are meant to be.

I know me and the kids deserve to be happy and steve wanted that for us too, I did expect some abuse from the inlaws and as ever they didn't disappoint.
Tom has been away this weekend but will be here later on today.
I can't sleep I have had swine flu jab and have a sore arm. Am sure my mr medic will make me feel better!
