BTW ... I do know what a joke the CSA is as I have been struggling with them for 9 months having to constantly phone them and getting frustrated all the time. I know Ive been lucky as well as most people get nowhere

if you knew enough about the csa you would know that we are actually also paying arrears at the moment so you pbviously dont.
The system maybe working for you, great,im so pleased you find the csa a great organisation.i would like to see it taking into account the NRP financial circumstances, instead of just allowing the measly 5 p.c they do.
what would also be a good idea is maybe if she stopped getting pregnant full stop.

FAQinglovely · 12/02/2009 18:25

that's very true about cutting benefits, I stalled (for as long as I could) giving the CSA H's contact details, but was forced to when they litrally cut my IS in half - reducing me from £60 a week to £30.

reality, they were both very young, very stupid and she swore blind she was on the pill..but she missed 1 and fell pregnant.yeah ok.

GypsyMoth · 12/02/2009 18:29

Maybe women who get involved with men who already have families to support, should not let themselves get pregnant!!!! By having children with these men who are already fathers, they are denying the existing kids, and any new arrivals will suffer also!!

FAQinglovely · 12/02/2009 18:29

yep - it happens

happened to me........

FAQinglovely · 12/02/2009 18:30

Brie - well I suppose that's one way of reducing the birth rates

ahappymummy · 12/02/2009 18:34

brie..er..this was something that happened 11 years ago,way before he met me and had no contact for that amount of time, not thru lack of trying may i add.so are you suggesting i shouldnt have had my son because of this?

MuppetsMuggle · 12/02/2009 18:34

I feel for you ladies and the struggle you are having.

I am lucky, that i've never had a problem with CSA, and i get about £200.00 a month generally without fail.

ahappymummy · 12/02/2009 18:36

im glad its working out okm for you muppets.seems you are the only one with something positive to say on this topic!

oldraver · 12/02/2009 18:37

if you knew enough about the csa you would know that we are actually also paying arrears at the moment so you pbviously dont.

Erm I dont believe you have actually said the £300 was for arrears as well (do correct me if I'm wrong) so it nothing to do with 'not knowing' about the CSA. The CSA will take arrears into account but only from the day they write to the NRP till they get their ass into gear. They dont take 10 years arrears into account... jeez

And YES I DO KNOW HOW THE CSA DONT WORK AS I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THEM FOR 9 MONTHS

GypsyMoth · 12/02/2009 18:38

Ahappymummy ...... Maybe you should just accept that your dh has to pay. End of. And not moan. You knew he had a child, wether he saw her or not. And why did he not simply file a seek and find order and gain contacts through the courts? Too many excuses.......

TequilaMockinBird · 12/02/2009 18:40

I get £12 a week from XP who has a good job, works a 60 hour week, has no new family and lives alone in a rented bedsit

ahappymummy · 12/02/2009 18:41

er,i didnt realise i had to break down the monthly payment for you.all you need to know is 300 is going to the csa, what diff does it make if its for arrears or not?
congrats on dealing with the csa for 9 months,iv been doing it for 3 years, its really not a competition.
so oldraver, you think what the csa has done to us is right?

FAQinglovely · 12/02/2009 18:43

thing is the happy - you knew he had a child when you got together, whether contact and/or financial support was already happening is irrelevant. The possibility of it happening in the future was always there and so should have been taken into account IMO.

exH pays £50 a week, which isn't quite as much as he should do, but not far enough off to worry about.

DP doesn't pay his exW maintenance for DSD as we have joint residency. DSD lives with us for a week, then her Mum for a week. She definitely has 2 homes and is fully equipped with clothes and toys, a lovely bedroom here etc etc

We split the costs of any school trips and pay for dinner money for the weeks that she is with us.

Her Mum still complains that DP should pay her maintenance though because the CSA system cannot comprehend 'joint residency'

ahappymummy · 12/02/2009 18:45

will you lot bloody listen!
iI HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH HIM HAVING ANOTHER CHILD.
I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH HIM PAYING FOR HIS CHILD.
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE AMOUNT THE CSA ARE TAkING EVERY MONTH AND WITH THEIR PISS POOR ATTITUDE.

How much would you consider to be a reasonable amount then?
