I was very pleased to see you have added your name to the list. Think we should try to persuade Blu, she has copped out of the last two, and I need to meet her!!

Ex H is now trying to tell me how he has been harrassed by his barmaid constantly, and she has spoilt his last years worth of nights out.
Poor sausage, he was trying so hard to get rid of her by getting naked in her car, wasn't he??!!

Not going to let ex H or my parents know I'm going out with another man, as they could get very funny about it.

I am not ready for my parents reaction, and ex H may get difficult & refuse to take the boys.

I think you are very wise to keep quiet about it to your parents and ex-H.

They don't deserve to be taken into your confidence.

do you have to tell your parents? you are a grown woman and old enough to know your own mind it is entirely up to you when and indeed if you tell them. you enjoy yourself sweetheart, you deserve it

i haven't really kept up to date with your situation pc but that sounds bloody awful. god i'd be tempted to flaunt the fact that you're going out again

a date, fantastic!
yes deff do not give your ex or parents the chance to mess it up.

Pinkchampagne · 24/08/2007 22:12

No I don't have to tell them, and am not going to, especially after them trying to invite me round to dinner with ex H last w/e!!
It is only an evening out anyway, it's not like anything serious is going on!

southeast - noooo! ex h's can cheat on you, dump you, tell you that they despise you fifty thousand times - but the minute they hear that you are going out with someone else, they go into mega-strop mode, and do everything in their power to make sure that you stay single, looking after their children.
I wouldnt tell him anything!

Pinkchampagne · 24/08/2007 22:18

Last time I went out with him, I just told ex H I was going out, but didn't say who with.
Before we moved out of the house, he would check my phone, even though he was doing whatever with the tarty barmaid at the time!

The man I am meeting text me way back in December, but I wouldn't meet up with him until I was in my own home, even though we had agreed to separate months before.
Ex H saw an innocent text from him & went really mad at me.

PC...same with me. We separated in january, but were still in the same house (I don't think he quite believed I would go through with it to be honest) and I wouldn't start the dating thing until he left. he's been gone 3 weeks now, and I'm turning my attentions to what's on offer . BUT...I wouldn't want him to know if and when I go on a date as he would make my life hell.

Those control freaky tendencies run deep, don't they. Very deep .

Report
Pinkchampagne · 24/08/2007 22:33

They sure do, Dino. I feel that ex H & my parents are still wanting to control me, even though we are no longer together, so there's no way I'm mentioning anything about Sunday night.

LGT - how do you feel now he has left?

PC...it's great . Of course I feel sad sometimes, but more that I am mourning the end of my marriage, my dreams if you like. But I do NOT miss his controlling ways, and bullying, and abuse. Not one bit. It was a loveless, sexless marriage and I have to say I do like the feeling that if I see someone I like the look of I am free to do something about it.

That's great, LBT! 3 weeks is obviously still very early days, and you do (IME) get the odd blip where you feel a bit low, but you are sounding so positive already, and it is great to be free of their control isn't it?

PC yes it is. Although technically it's early days, it isn't IYKWIM? I 'divorced' myself from him a long time ago.
