essbee - no advice to give but do you think something in the drama lesson triggered off this reaction? hope you can get to the bottom of it.

anorak · 07/10/2004 09:12

Sad as this is, I see it as positive essbee. DS is learning to express himself. This is so much better than his being naughty which was obviously an expression of his anger and confusion. Bless him. He is a sweetie.

good thought anorak - essbee, sounds like your son is growing up.

melsy · 07/10/2004 19:08

awww porr little boy, agree with anorak , let it out. I think its better if he learns young to express some of his difficult emtotions and not hold them in , whihc makes themn turn into anger / frustartuion. With your loving and nurturing that you give him he will learn to deal with them in amuch better way. How is he today ??

Not too early I hope !

You're getting there, essbee - stay strong xx

It sounds like your son is getting a new idea of 'home' as a place with just you and his sister around him. He realises he still loves daddy but is beginnig to realise he is happier if daddy isn't living with him, and was trying to tell you that (and not feel guilty about it himself).

Falling asleep so early could be a sign that he is feeling more at ease with recent changes and will stop fighting them. Of course he could just have been zonked!

It would be interesting to see what he did in drama that day - perhaps the lesson prompted something?

Not about the note but I think it would be very good to talk to him about his dad. Maybe if poss in a casual sort of way to begin with, while you are doing something else, so you aren't looking right at him all the time, and see what comes out. If nothing then leave it, but keep giving him chances to talk. He must have a lot of feelings bottled up.

The notes to you and DD are so sweet

Hope this isn't terribly bad netiquette but here goes:

Mrs Forgetful recently posted something really interesting on a thread in SN that might be useful for you to do with DS

Quoting the relevant part of her post...

"2 things i think you should do.

  1. Draw a 'WORRY' spider with your son. Basically all this is is a large circle as the body with as many legs as he has worries....so on each leg write the worry. This helps him to express his problems....and will help you get a clearer picture too. "

maybe that might help ds express himself?

sorry you have had a bad day. I think it could well be the accidental double dose that is making you feel low - when you increase a dose of ADs, as when you start them you can feel temporarily increased anxiety - spacey mentioned experiencing something similar last week, shortly after increasing her dose of ADs. I would hedge my bets - i.e. take the next one tomorrow morning, then the one after that the evening of the day after tomorrow - i.e. space them slightly.

hope that you have managed to get josh to bed now
