Happy New Year and Happy New Thread to all the single parents looking for a place to rant, rave, moan, share the highs and the lows and chat with people that know! It is the second thread and probably a slow one if the first is anything to go by, but it's here when we need it.

Not having the best of Mondays either Meg but thanks for asking. :) Been having a sleep phase - insomnia which I get on the average once a year these days. Waiting to look into ds's possible dyspraxia - owing to the appointments at GP having to wait an eternity. The appointment is next Monday evening. Another week of waiting. Then next Tuesday an 830 am appointment with the special needs team leader to discuss what they said. Anxiety and stress phase and insomnia ain't fun. Another 7 days to wait. :(
Quality of life has gone out the window until I calm down ..... Sorry to bore everybody.

megletthesecond · 03/10/2016 22:14

You're not boring me Smile. Its LP life isn't it. Endless juggling of house, work, dc's, appointments etc. Hope you get some answers and action plans over the next couple of weeks.

Flowerpower41 · 04/10/2016 05:45

Thanks Meg. Outside of that I do find ds much easier now he is 11. Every year a small bit easier. Onward and upward. However his hormones kick in big time now and he has an answer for everything (which he has probably learnt from his intransigent mum lol) ......!

Solo · 06/10/2016 10:26

How is it going Flower? Any better?

Kids aren't easy are they? Dd lost another tooth. 3 lost teeth ago, she lost one down the plughole whilst trying to clean it up for the tooth fairy. She did not get a fairy visit mean mummy. Then she forgot to put the next tooth under her pillow and I put it into the drawer after finding it and she never did ask about it so no fairy money then either. Last night she said her friends got £5 for a tooth and I said they must have a different fairy Hmm. Dd said she knew it was me so last night, I left her a 20p instead of a £1 coin. Think she'll learn? Grin. IABU?

Yes Solo thank you feeling better. Catching up on sleep too. Until the next time! :)

£5 for a flippin' tooth fairy that is daylight robbery!

Solo · 06/10/2016 10:55

Glad to hear it :)

I went back to bed after the school run, but couldn't sleep :( I have been so tired recently.

Solo have you ever tried a kinesiologist treatment? They are a very thorough form of alternative health. It may help the chronic fatigue syndrome. Naturally it does depend on cashflow though ..... It is an offshoot of chiropractic medicine.

Solo · 08/10/2016 00:47

Flower no I haven't although I did think about many years ago after my cousin had great things to say about her own sessions. Any recommendations? Depending on cost, I might give it further consideration - thank you. Thanks

I don't have any recommendations no but just google search in your local area Solo. The main issue will be cost as usual. I studied it for a term about 5 years ago - it was a 2 year course. The reason I stopped was because ds was too young and it was a very demanding although gripping course to do. The teacher was great. It also focuses on nutrition and intolerances to foods and medication etc. You can take any conventional medicine along that you are taking and the practitioner will advise you by muscle testing whether or not these are suitable for you. Amazing! They tweak you for either an hour or two hours and give you time for your body to adjust. Like I say a bit like chiropractic but with more time spent on you and nutritional/medication/Bach Flower advice given also.

Hope I am not going off the point of this thread ladies but I am passionate about kinesiology and don't like to see us ladies suffering if it can be prevented.

Solo · 08/10/2016 23:29

Thanks Flower I find all alternatives interesting to say the least.
At 52, I feel very fortunate not to be taking any kind of medication although I could very easily agree to take several that have been offered over the last 12 months (amitriptyline for example), but I really am anti about pills and would probably just forget to take them anyway.

£1 a tooth here too.

We've just had another dreadful morning. I don't know what to do anymore. All the usual organising the night before is done, we're up by 7 but the dc's fight and ignore me for over an hour. They've refused to get ready for pocket money and rewards. They like school too. It's just me they ignore 😭 .

Foslady · 13/10/2016 14:07

Hi everyone - sorry I've been a bit quiet on here.
Sorry to hear you're struggling with your health Solo - no help or advice from me I'm afraid but have a (((hug))) (see my thread in chat to know why I'm smiling at that)
And Meg - bloody kids!!!! Wine

Just been for a job interview- really hoping it all works out, really liked what they were telling me about the company, got that 'I want to work here' vibe about the place. Can't say too much now but after I hear next week I'll tell you what happened at the interview which made me want to both laugh out loud and high 5 one of the interview panel!!!!

Flowerpower41 · 14/10/2016 05:33

Good luck with the job Fos. Hope you get it if it floats your boat well.

Foslady · 14/10/2016 17:42

user1476596036 · 16/10/2016 14:04

megletthesecond · 16/10/2016 18:30
