Bugsy2 · 31/03/2006 19:23

hmmm, think all the single people are very young though! Or else they are married, boring or perverted - or all three!!! Two of the dates I met got their knobs out in public and one of them was one of the accidentally married dates too!!!

ugh, so thick today - obviously you can't be married and single - but pretending to be single. Haven't even had a sip of wine yet!

desperateSCOUSEwife · 31/03/2006 19:25

okey dokey jmg:)

Nightynight · 31/03/2006 19:27

jmg, I look in places where I don't live, but would like to!
Also, you can choose on some sites, where you want your profile to appear, eg if you log into English meetic, you'll get loads of replies from English people, even though you're not in UK.

bugsy, wander why many young people on on the sites, you would have thought it would be more in their 30's and 40's

nellie, nothing ventured nothing gained!

jmg1 · 31/03/2006 19:31

nignynight, do you have the website address for English meetic?

jmg1 · 31/03/2006 19:33

nellie, re kids I agree, but as I have 3 kids I think someone with more than 2 would be tricky, would need our own mini bus to go to school!
well to go anywhere!

Bugsy2 · 31/03/2006 19:36

I've been unimpressed with internet dating really. Can honestly say of the 16 I met, only one was genuinely in the "gorgeous" category. Maybe the oversell, I experienced is a London thing. Perhaps in other parts of the UK, you get better looking more honest guys! Wink
Stacks of young people on the websites too - I was amazed. Think perhaps it is just a popular thing to do at the moment. I presume people haven't stopped going clubbing on a Friday night to see if they pull!

Completely understand Nellie. To be honest, I wasn't looking at youngsters myself, given my very great age of 36! All the guys I dated were older than me too. I'm sure its a London thing. Just generally a higher percentage of t*ssers!
jmg, when I was looking, my preference would have been for a head shot & a body shot. I liked to be able to see the man's face quite clearly & then check out the whole person too! Up to date pics too. One guy I met had posted a photo that was 8 years out of date!!!! Looked it too.

It is such a disheartening start to the evening when you don't even recognise the person who comes over & says: "Ah, you must be Bugsy" as you desperately scan the old haggard face in front of you, trying to reconcile it with the fresh youngish looking one on the dating site!!! The particular guy whose photo was 8 yrs out of date was completely grey haired in real life, whereas in the photo it was just a salt & pepper sprinkling. He was also only just taller than me, as opposed to the 6ft he claimed to be too and most unfortunately he had train track braces on top & bottom teeth. I was stumbling backwards by that point!!!!

bugsy Grin

were you quivering, (not with delight)

Bugsy2 · 31/03/2006 20:24

I'm laughing too! You have to really. I even laughed about the knob-out blokes too! It just seemed so ridiculous. I was convinced it was a set up & Jeremy Beadle was going to appear from behind the bar!
The old, grey-haired train track gnasher chap was actually quite sweet. We had a bit of a laugh about what a lying b*stard he was & we are still in touch - he & his girlfriend are expecting their first baby together any day now in fact!

jmg1 · 31/03/2006 20:28

Can't believe two blokes got they tackle out on the first date. I mean the second date ok! but the first, thats just bad manners!
