Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

No, hate napping in the day - always makes me feel worse. I'll get her up now and make her suffer too Grin (suffer from lack of sleep I mean, I'm not going to take her out and beat her!). Had one very sweet moment though, about 2am I was sitting groaning from lack of sleep and she came up, put her arms round me and said 'wasser matter mummy' over and over - think that alone saved her from being left on someone's doorstep

jmg1 · 29/03/2006 10:41

they come out with some priceless things sometimes

I was explaining to ds that when I was a kid it was easier to ride bikes on the roads than it is now, he said 'that was in the olden days, wasn't it daddy'
but I don't think he was joking

wobblyknicks · 29/03/2006 10:59

Awww, bet yours still come out with cracking lines all the time

nutcracker · 29/03/2006 13:46

Have just created a profile on the udate site. Am scared now Grin

jasper · 29/03/2006 14:00

nutty I hope you don't mind me asking. I am not here often any more but in the past you felt trapped in your bad relationship. have you split from your partner? What happened?

nutcracker · 29/03/2006 14:18

Hi Jasper, no i don't mind you asking. Yep we have split, things came to a head at the beginning of Feb and I asked him to leave. I let him come back briefly on the understanding that he looked for a flat. Anyway he didn't and I chucked him out again for good.

He is now living with his sister about 40 miutes away from here. He says he wants to find somewhere to live round here but isn't actually looking so we'll see.

I am feeling very relieved to finally be out of the relationship. Am struggling a bit with the kids now and again but on the whole our house is a happier and more relaxed place.

Smile
jasper · 29/03/2006 14:27

nutty i can't believe I missed that. I am so pleased for you.
Well done. it can't have been easy, particularly as you had felt for so long that there was just no way out.
Best of luck to you and your kids in your new beginning xx

jmg1 · 29/03/2006 14:29

nutty, I think things will get better, it will take time.

good luck with udate, are you going to let us know how it goes.

think it would be daft for me to register at the moment, living overseas.

nutcracker · 29/03/2006 14:34

Thanks Jasper Smile

Jmg, I can't see why you couldn't register now, i think you can just look for people where you are or you could start up a friendship with someone from the U.K.

I won't need to let you know if I get any replies, cos you will hear me panicking from here Grin

jmg1 · 31/03/2006 10:57

Hi nutty, I was wandering how its going, any news, good or bad!

Bugsy2 · 31/03/2006 11:02

I did udate for about 18 months. Had 16 real life dates through it. I found it was a really good ego boost but didn't meet anyone I saw as the next potential Mr Bugsy!
Have fun Nutcracker - definitely nothing to be scared of. Watch out for the zillions of married men though!

Nightynight · 31/03/2006 11:14

jmg, I have the same problem, in Germany at the mo. I have registered on some french/german sites, but havent met anyone, though flirting on the internet is v good for learning the language!.
The only english people I tend to meet are archetypal "Expats"...cringe...

jmg1 · 31/03/2006 11:34

bugsy, are there really loads of married men on dating sites?

nightynight, there are two reasons I plan to move back to the UK, one is too have some roots there for the future for me + the kids, the other is the remote chance that I may meet someone who rattles my cage. No chance here, it's a married persons World. Great place to raise kids.

Bugsy2 · 31/03/2006 11:51

Yes loads jmg. Some of them tick the married category, so you can clearly see that they are married. Others forget or overlook the crucial fact they are married!!! I accidentally dated two married guys - fortunately never got further than a glass of wine & I was livid when I found out.

jamsam · 31/03/2006 12:02

ive taken to reading the guardian dating page in the saturday supplement, so much more realistic!!!
pleanty of hippy/alternatives/artists etc...

jmg1 · 31/03/2006 12:18

bugsy, it takes all sorts!

jamsam, have you had any dates from that?

jamsam · 31/03/2006 12:25

not yet, but lots of lovely emails and i even found an old friend( male) who i have no intention of dating in there!!!
i think my problem is my location..and of course the kids!

biglips · 31/03/2006 12:27

jmg1 · 31/03/2006 19:07

I've just met an Irish guy, who lives here with dw and 3 kids. He said their would be loads of Women in the UK who would love to come and live here.

I wonder whether to register on a site now, but woman in the uk would normally only put within say 20 miles of where they live, so I would never appear on their search would I?

desperateSCOUSEwife · 31/03/2006 19:08

jmg what happened to rubber ducky!!!!

Bugsy2 · 31/03/2006 19:13

forgot you were a bloke jmg!!! I'm having a very blonde day today. Whereabouts are you? The UK seems pretty full of married people to me! Grin

I am in the Algarve, just got back from taking ds to play football, its still sunny and its warm!

nutcracker · 31/03/2006 19:17

Ok just looked and nothing, not a thing Sad

Well one had added me to their favourites list or something but the less said about them the better.

jmg1 · 31/03/2006 19:18

bugsy, that is exactly what I thought when I was in UK, but there are more single people in the UK than here.

With a dp I would prefer to be here any day!
