Just an update (busy on this thread this weekend!)...have now told both DD1 and DD2 about TLOML. Although DD2 was less enthusiastic, she didn't make any fuss or cry and readily accepted that she will meet him when we go to Thorpe Park next weekend. On the way home from dropping DD1 at school she asked several questions about him, including one I couldn't answer. She wanted to know what he is scared of...knew it wasn't flying or heights and when I asked him on the phone earlier he didn't have an answer either (though I think 'meeting your kids' came into both of our minds as a possible answer!)

Glad that's out of the way, big sighs of relief from TLOML and me, and also baffled about why they reacted so differently when their dad told them about his GF. I'll never know...

SparklyMily · 21/03/2011 09:44

wow, busy weekend, to Mony, Ninah, MZ and SCL

in case any of the 'old' new posters were on last August when I first sidled on to the thread I was MummyIlubYou, shortened to Mily and now SparklyMily due to ring on finger Blush

and I feel less like a bigamist now as DA finally arrived in the post on Friday Grin

Lilac, fantastic news re DCs and TLOML, it's all good from here on

Elasta, glad you are still hearing good things from GW, any more noise from Traveller? Wink

Snape, any sign of TrainMan this morning?

Sponge, great re job, and continued weightloss, totally understandable re men....

nauseatingly domesticated this weekend I am afraid.....trip to see TLM DD at school, gradening, running, drinks with friends satd'y night, etc etc.....have seen lovely dress in local bridal shop which kinda goes against the grain but I may have to pop in and try it on, with a hat and shades so nobody see me go in....bound to be wildly over-priced but may be able to track down someone to make me a cheapo version...

anyway, must do some work

FairyLightsForever · 21/03/2011 12:53

Sneaking out of my lurky hole to say hello-

Congratulations Belle, brilliant news!

Hello and welcome back to Betty and NMN looking forward to more crazy dating stories! (don't expect you to remember me, I don't post that much due to being rubbish at dating Grin)

Hello to everyone else

lilac, really pleased that your girls took the news so well, I suspect that they took the news badly with your ex because it was all too soon- they've had time to adjust to you and their dad being apart, which he didn't give them.

Flame · 21/03/2011 13:12

Eve - ignoring my heart tbh. I love him to bits, but he says i am not the one so will just have to love him to bits as a friend. Thankfully he isn't dating atm which is easier. so many times though, like at party at the weekend, i feel he should be there with me.

Smurf still being random - nothing then perfectly chatty. If he shows up and is prepared to give me his full attention then fine, but not waiting around for him. He can sort his personal stuff out.

Yay for tloml stuff going well.

NOmeansNO · 21/03/2011 19:03

why is smurf called smurf?

fairy - i do remember you!

where is aeroplane lou. she had some crazy dates too Wink.

monty - helllo

sponge - whats this about weight loss? how much? tell me so i can congratulate you Grin

was it 13 stone of exh or body fat of your own Blush

sparkly - helloo, i'm wracking my brain to you?

aurora - was it you or mrsm who was seeing the man with the boots fetish Grin what happened with that story?

Flame · 21/03/2011 19:16

Smurf is smurf because his POF username had smurf in it. He is not blue and neither are his boy bits. Wink

Hatesponge · 21/03/2011 20:17

nmn - the weight loss is all mine! 1st 9lb in the last 2 months, though a v v long way still to go (about another 5 stone Blush).

it was indeed aurora and boots man :) She will correct me if I'm wrong but I think she felt his interest was more in her boots than her....anyway he fell by the wayside and she now has a DP in uniform, they have just celebrated 6 month anniversary.

I think Mily joined our merry band end of summerish last year...she only went on dates with 2 men (I think - Mily is that right?) the second of whom now known as TLM, was the 'one', and they are engaged. Hence lots of posts about and links to wedding dresses!

Please no-one be scared by my encyclopaediac knowledge of their love lives, it is only because I don't have one of my own Grin

Flame · 21/03/2011 20:20

Yup, I think MILY joined about the same time as me

Flame · 21/03/2011 20:21

Its a shame Download decided I was a nutter. I talk to the bloody man online every night. Hmm

Snapespeare · 21/03/2011 20:27

sponge - bloody well done :)

Flame · 21/03/2011 20:32

Wish I knew wtf I did wrong with Smurf. All seemed really good and then he suddenly went weird. Tearful and brooding.

lilacisinlove · 22/03/2011 12:14

flame, hope you're feeling better today.

sponge, v impressed with your shrinking self, way to go.

TLOML got tickets for Dirty Dancing next week as birthday surprise...but the surprise is that I can't go as I have parents evening til 8pm Sad

Any of you London(ish) mummies fancy a night out? Great seats, Thurs 31st March.

OP posts:
Flame · 22/03/2011 12:32

Meh a bit better. Just disheartened and confused about how it went from good and happy to nothing. Had he not responded instantly with his very soon last week then I wouldn't be quite so confused.

on the brightside just had a quick smell of Matt Wink.

That's a shame with the tickets :(

aurorastargazer · 22/03/2011 12:50

hello everyone - nice to see some old faces Grin

belle - congrats on the baby!!! i didn't read your post properly and it wasn't until monty, i think, said something that i went back to read it properly Grin

aurorastargazer · 22/03/2011 12:53

{phew] caught upGrin

who wanted the wine???
mn's wine cellar

aurorastargazer · 22/03/2011 12:54

took and elasta - don't you dare go Grin

Snapespeare · 22/03/2011 19:15

sod it - more Wine...?

man front is it's usual disaster - no sign of Trainman (who is apparently 'trainman2' ;) ) admittedly i've been getting the last possible train for the last week or so - still...

...nothing on OKC at all. hideous. PM is...PM. :) i think i give up and whilst grudingly leaving OKC profile up (as an act of desperation..) I have plenty of other things to get on with. sex would be nice, if i recall correctly (...) but I'm not doing it just for the sake of it with a random.

NOmeansNO · 22/03/2011 19:52

hello all,

i seen a house today i would quite fancy. fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow with the documents and admin stuff. i need to give a months notice here. but i am considering lapsing the 2 rentals. gives me an extra week or so to clean the old property carpets and touch up paint so i can get my full deposit back. plus my itchy feet just want to fully seperate and no longer be sharing a roof or finances.

aurora - oooh a 6 month anniversary. sounding good. :-)

snape - maybe he's been trying to get an early train hoping he gets the one you get ;)

flame - have you tried to em...... not think about the if's , buts and why so much behind men and why they do thing. you are never going to figger out there hot and cold tendancies. or why they do anything for that matter. and it is not a mar vs venus thing. i couldn't predict why a woman would do something either.

the truth is you cant read someone's mind. you will never know why someone acts a way they do. have you tried any mental exercises in trying to keep your mind busy from these destructive thought? what do you do as a hobby? is there something else to focus your energy and thoughts on?

Snapespeare · 22/03/2011 20:06

yes. we pass like trains in the night... Hmm. and he could always wait for the next one...

extra special early start tomorrow? pffffft.

lou33 · 22/03/2011 20:59

evening everyone, good to see some of the old posters back :)

for some reason the thread has wiped itself from my threads i am on, and i had to go find you all through the topics section

loads to read through i see!

nmn sorry to hear your news, lovely news on here as well though with the first baby on its way

also sorry to hear the ups and downs of everyone else

i dont have masses to report, other than exh had the boys on saturday while i took dd1 to a uni open day Shock

he said afterwards it was v draining having them about.... Biscuit

i was v good and held my tongue though

ds2 has been ill since he got back from there tho, too poorly for school, and the gp has given him anti biotics as his ears and throat are hurting and he has a river of green snot coming from his nose

new motability car is ready for us on friday so that is something to look forward to, i love the smell of new cars

NOmeansNO · 22/03/2011 21:12

lou, what did you get for mobility? how do they pick the list of cars. do they actually test to see if they are suitable or pick the types available out a hat ConfusedGrin

sincitylover · 22/03/2011 21:19

Hello Lou and waves to everybody else. New car sounds good Smile

Bit off topic but had a strange but lovely day today. Was on strike but didn't join the picket line (coward emoticon). As Ive been feeling quite burnt out dropped ds1 at school, went for a coffee and then a long walk. Went past old MH, although I wish Id held onto it as it was quite big felt like it was in another life. Later went on another walk before picking up ds2 from school. Was chatting to a TA whilst I was waiting about divorce, trouble with exhs etc and she seemed to understand exactly where I was coming from. Sad had to hold it all in whilst we were chatting and made me realise how shitty it can be.

Also cleared out behind and inside one of the sofas which was small progress in trying to clean/tidy my tip of a house.

Nothing on the man front to report.

lou33 · 22/03/2011 21:43

most cars are available through the motability scheme, it just depends on if you get the higher rate of the mobility part of dla

a lot of cars have no up front deposit to pay, but when you need a bigger car like i do, they usually come with hefty sums to pay out, then you sign over the mobility component to motability as your 4 weekly payment for it

the car i am getting is the same as the one i already have (grand scenic), just the new shape and a diesel, i went for the same again as they were doing a special offer on it of only £495 deposit, it is usually over £1000, though the one i have atm was also on special at the time, with £995 deposit

ideally i wouldve liked a volvo xc90, but it is 5k deposit, and that would have meant me applying for a motability loan, which is a faff, and it wouldnt guarantee me getting the car of my choice, as they would try and push for me to pick one they wanted me to have iyswim

elastamum · 22/03/2011 22:45

hi all, just popped in to catch up.

Snape! where is trainman?? You will just have to get up earlier to give us our daily installment. We are missing him Grin

Lou, new car sounds good Smile

Nothing much to report here this week. Have had daily e mail from GW, who is back in the country tomorrow and hopefully back in my bed coming for dinner on friday Grin

Also, saw traveller this evening when I was out climbing with my son. He is as friendly as ever, but nothing doing there. He has def fallen into the friend zone, which is a bit of a relief quite honestly, as although he is extremely fit, and very lustworthy, it is a total waste of lust. GW is much more interesting!!
