Just catching up. Well blow me down. Had a call from blue eyes whilst driving home, wants to meet up next week. For some strange reason he thought I lived a long way away in essex??!! He was very surprised to find me so close by - lets see if he turns up - he is a bit of a hunk Grin

tookoolforskool · 28/01/2011 09:24

oooohhhhh. :) :) :) that is exciting. When?

Flame, when you seeing brackets again?

beautician - yep. fades like anything. I have to re red it with colour that my ever so lovely hairdresser sneaks my way, every 10 days. And it still fades to a sort of reddy brown colour. :( I love it when its really red... but my white bathroom is not loving the constant stream of red dye.

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/01/2011 10:27

Elasta Ooh thats good news hope he does turn up for you.

Im really down at the moment which is very unusual for me.I feel like im just back to my old boring life a single parent again.I am due on so maybe its just my hormones.

tookoolforskool · 28/01/2011 10:44

probably just hormones.
Im sure your life isnt boring.
I know for a fact my life isnt boring at all, sometimes i might get a bit fed up of being on my own all the time, but its not boring.

ive got a group of friends that ive known for about 6 years. They are all married, bar me. they are all, without exception, having problems, some are in councelling, some have had trial seperations, some just do what their other half wants becasuse they are too scared to leave. Unbelieveably they say they envy me.

How olds your child? go do something fun with him/her... or something crazy. or have somone over in the evening or someting?

StellaBrillante · 28/01/2011 10:52

Oh... help?!?!
'not-to-be-date' has blown me out! Message:
"
Hiya ? I hope you are ok? At least it is Friday Yippee!!
I am really sorry but I need to change our date for Sunday ? My friend is having a bad time at the moment and I need to go to Leicester to help him out.
Are you free next week? I can do any day except Wednesday.
See you soon x"
Soooo... what's the verdict? Shall I just not bother with this guy?

tookoolforskool · 28/01/2011 10:56

is it the first time hes done that?
If so, make another date.... he has asked if you are free again.

if its the 2nd or more time hes done that, then dont bother.

StellaBrillante · 28/01/2011 10:58

no, this was supposed to be the first date. this was the guy who asked whether we should stay in or go out... although once i looked at the other text messages, he seemed genuinely pleased about us going out so i reckon that should have been a joke... anyway, poop!

StellaBrillante · 28/01/2011 10:59

thank you btw! gosh, how old am i? 15?!?! yeah, i wish... :)

Remotew · 28/01/2011 11:01

I got blown out last weekend too, not met up yet, he said it was car trouble. Did get an apology and he said he wants to rearrange. Hmm Might text tonight to see if he can make it over the weekend. So Stella I would give it one more go.

StellaBrillante · 28/01/2011 11:10

done. poop. i am certain 'teacher' would never have done something like this! he's still smilling at me from his pedestal... Confused actually, he did wave at me yesterday but waving is hardly going to get me a date, is it now? Hmm

ps. must stop 'mumsnetting' whilst at work!

ps2. a great weekend to you all!!! :)

tookoolforskool · 28/01/2011 11:17

well. a wave is something.. can you not get to chatting with him???

Id still go, even if hes the one who said about staying in.. but if he balls up again, then dont.

I think we all need advice, thats why we are here. or to squeel like a 15 year old about a date, or to go over it all once it has happened ;) lol

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/01/2011 11:19

Thanks tookool my ds's are Four and six.I will have to think of something fun to do this weekend.Would like to go out just need to find somewhere warm.

Stella sometimes people get nervous or have a genuine excuse.I would give him the benefit of the doubt and rearrange. However,if he does it a second time then i would be likely to leave it.

tookoolforskool · 28/01/2011 11:30

cinema???
followed by pizza tea? or pizza hut?
or ( sad, but DD loves this) pet shop... then a floor picnic?
trip to the shops to find the best thing in the world.. with a budget of £1.50 each. ( DD LOVES this game, shes 5)

or failing any of that, cheer yourself up by planning fab stuff to do over the summer. ( ive got a ton of stuff booked, becuase its a bit crap in jan)

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/01/2011 11:33

Yes i was thinking cineama. No to the pet shop as DG has promised the boys a cat and its all im hearing about haha.

tookoolforskool · 28/01/2011 11:39

i bet. We are getting guinea pigs soon. We go a lot, to quote DD ' because we need to check they still look the same'

We have a dog. These will be the last pets. i cant end up the mad pet woman!

Isnt yogi bear on at the cinema??

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/01/2011 11:45

I just checked the listings and marmaduke is on tomorrow at our local one movies for juniors. The boys were desperate to see it first time around but we missed out.

Thank you again i have something to look forward to now well we all do.Grin

tookoolforskool · 28/01/2011 11:57

arent they only about £1 as well?

i think they are at our local one, on a saturday morning.

:)

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/01/2011 12:06

Yes only a pound so i save some money too.

Will take them for something to eat after as well im sure they will choose pizza.

Im not seeing DG this weekend and probably not next weekend either now so im just feeling sorry for myself need to give myself a kick up the bum.

Flame · 28/01/2011 15:07

Carrot freaks and cancels first dates apparently (except mine... odd) so i would say its nerves and still rearrange.

Seeing Brackets tomorrow. Going for a meal and drinks. Have told him he can stay at mine (distance issues) but that i am ONLY offering a place to sleep.

Might be seeing Matt late tonight.

Hoping there is some huge spark with Brackets tomorrow.

lou33 · 28/01/2011 15:13

one of dd2's hamsters died a couple of days ago, so we are now down to 3 dogs, one cat and one hamster, though i have promised chickens once we have moved and settled in (was a birthday prmise for dp last sept)

eek

definitely no more pets for us!

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/01/2011 15:18

Ahh Lou sorry to hear that.See thats why i have put off having pets as it would be sad for us all if anything happened to them but more so for ds1.I don't know how i would explain that to him.

Got to love DG for kindly promising them a kitten to go with the new house without discussing it with me first.New house is now a few months off so between now and then im going to put up with daily questions about the cat.It already has a name 'Jerry' and has to be ginger Hmm

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/01/2011 15:20

Flame Good luck with brackets hope it goes well and that you get the spark and hope you enjoy seeing mattsarse

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/01/2011 15:21
