definitely flats

tbh i wouldnt even bother to go out lol

dp just called and said his work had broken their record already for number of jobs done today

290

of which he fixed 23 of them on his own

bet he is knackered

christmaseve · 20/12/2010 20:45

All the presents are now wrapped and I'm knackered now. 17 so far, 10 just for DD, still got to get a couple when I do the food shop after work tomorrow.

Think I'm coming down with something, have a cough and my eyes look and feel really heavy. Glad I have a good break to look forward to.

Mz, I did agree with flats just incase in came out wrong, hope he is worth it.

Sponge ask him a few question that should require a reasonable reply.

lilacbauble · 20/12/2010 21:10

sponge, how about "Thanks for your message. I enjoyed reading your profile and would love to hear about (insert whatever you can feign interest in)"

Gives him the opportunity to enlighten you in a sentence containing more than 8 words, some of them may even have more than one syllable.

lilacbauble · 21/12/2010 10:50

Morning all

Mzd, waiting for an update

Milytoe · 21/12/2010 11:06

Hello

busy few days

Eve, Flame, Lilac glad good times are being had

Sponge, IKWYM about waiting for the next thing to go wrong with the house - whatever happens e.g. a couple of weeks ago when the water went off here, i always fear the worst (most expensive) has happened

Sin, I am with you on being bored fo the snow - I want it to go away now as have so many potentially nice things coming up over the next 2 weeks and I don't want it to get in the way. Also, having met you in RL you are def curvy and attractive Xmas Smile

Lou, what to say about your idiot X....... what the others said basically. Hope your DP doing ok in the dreadful weather, that is a lot of jobs.

Elasta, thinking of you.

TLM continues to be amazingly lovely.....spent yesterday eve adding loads fo extra insulation to the loft, a job i have been meaning to do for ages and he just got on with so we are all nice cosy Grin

My dd2 asked at b'fast yesterday :" Mummy, why you mark you lub each udder?" (sorry, but that is how she speaks, also says Cwistmas Twee and Mulamala (banana) Blush) which made us smile and then i had to come up with an answer............both DDs grilling me for about 5 mins

He has gone off today to collect his DD from his parents' (we spent 5 hrs getting back from dropping her there on Saturday.....) and hopefully my parents turning up tomorrow through until Boxing Day so the festivities can commence. I can't tell you how different this Christmas feels to last year - I was in the pit of despair then and only just holding it together..... then I had 6 weeks after Xmas of snow and flaky Nanny not turning up for work. Instead, Lovely Nanny now stayed at her parents' in the village Sunday night and last night to make sure she could get to work even though her own car wouldn't start and her dad is being chauffeur today so my DDs can meet up with some friends Xmas Grin

I feel so blessed (not a word Mily the scpetic would normally use but tis how I feel)

Milytoe · 21/12/2010 11:09

*sceptic

Mzdemeanourunderthemistletoe · 21/12/2010 11:10

Had a great time - bloody typical - I meet a nice fit interesting man and he lives 300 miles away! He's already sent me a text saying how nice it was to finally meet up and that he really enjoyed himself - and wants us to meet up again when we can ...

Ended up going back to his room despite my better intentions .... but was reasonably well-behaved Grin

And am also supposed to be seeing Friday's bloke again sometime - maybe to catch a gig or comedy night! Just like buses - you wait ages and then two come along at once ...

lilacbauble · 21/12/2010 12:01

Pleased for you mzd, though my mind is mulling over quite what "reasonably well-behaved" involves.

If they're anything like mine, when more than one comes along at once you can guarantee that one will disappear suddenly and without trace, thereby solving the problem for you.

mily, sounds like a lovely Christmas you have lined up. I'll be waking up alone Christmas morning, but I'm ok with that. It will still be a HUGE improvement on last year when I was still living in the same house as stbxH, a year after agreeing to separate Sad

lou33 · 21/12/2010 12:21

Ooh mz i am pleased at this news!

This time last year i had been on the second date with my now dp and become his gf after he officially asked. Plus i had a massive scab on my chin from all the snogging

Xmas post ex has usually been crap tho, especially the one that i had to report him for harassment

Dp has xmas off this year so will be here

Milytoe · 21/12/2010 12:36

yay MZ, sounding good

sincitylover · 21/12/2010 12:41

mzd - very pleased Grin and milu your xmas sounds great

well boatman is def no no - yesterday went to hamleys as promised then ds2 and I walked back to pier to go home.

We were sitting there and a man comes on pier -was jsut about to say to ds2 ooh that looks like daddy when he turned round and yes it was boatman. I then realised they are two of a kind oh yes - mid height, thin, grey coiffed hair. black business coat - a very manicured look and quite generic look. Have to say it freaked me out a bit a) because I wasn't expecting to see him and b because his similarity to exh.

He did show a flicker of recognition but I kept a poker face and focused on ds2.

Think I might have to try driving a short way today - I really need to get more than a pint of milk, bread and tonight's dinner. It seems to have thawed a bit and if I go along my road at 5mph surely should be oK (hopeful emoticon).

Saw my neighbour this morning quite by chance he had black eye and cuts on his face - asked him if he fell over in snow but turned out he had been mugged by four guys - not locally but still rather shocking.

hatesponge · 21/12/2010 12:42

mz, good news! you do have to expand on this reasonably good behaviour though, we are waiting....

Slightly worried tho: I'm going to be the last single one left aren't I? :)

Milytoe · 21/12/2010 12:49

Sin, just reread thread and rofl at visiting academic and Hamleys mix - I read it that way too Smile

Agree that going for same type as X may not be best plan. TLM occasionally asks if I want him to be more muscley/toned - slight insecurity of his about my XH fitness-instructor bod - then I point out how living with a narcissistic body-fascist who made me feel like 2 tonne tess and was boring as hell was no fun and I have no desire for big pecs.......I think he gets the message Grin

Milytoe · 21/12/2010 12:51

my XH's fitness-instructor bod (Mily not fitness-instructor shaped in the slightest......)

christmaseve · 21/12/2010 12:53

Sponge don't be silly I'm here!!.

I have been on my own numerous christmases and it really doesn't bother me at all. Got quite used to it. Also learnt my lesson not to mix a man and family at such a time. Thinking about 2 yrs ago when I fell in love, was about to have someone around and DD was beside herself. Was a bit upset but with hindsight, men come and go and all that.

Oh should add very pleased for everyone who is loved up. Grin

Mz, hope you don't have to wait as long to see your date next time, seeing as you liked him.

Mzdemeanourunderthemistletoe · 21/12/2010 15:06

Afternoon all - think after some mature reflection am going to maintain a diplomatic silence on last night's activities - will just say that the full deed remained undone ... got to save something for another time after all!

For anyone who's friends with me on FB, he is on my friends list - guy with a slightly odd name ... still think I'm a long way of the old marital sofa though as god knows when or if we'll meet again ...

Milytoe · 21/12/2010 15:48

ahem.......

Decree Nisi cert through - will be done on 13th Jan and then Absolute at the end of Feb

tra la la la la Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

sincitylover · 21/12/2010 16:12

mily my nisi came through in feb (tho it was 2007)

mz going to get on fb as soon as I can for a peek.

went out in car (it was fine) so have a bit more food and three bottles of wine (one nice red and two bottles of NZ marlboro sauv blanc) for just over a tenner - result!! I love LIDL Wink

sincitylover · 21/12/2010 16:16

btw sponge dont think you will be the last one left single - think it'll be me - actually not too fussed about that.

Dont mind a flirt though, some male company and a bit of sex now and then Grin

lou33 · 21/12/2010 17:06

Envy @ decree nisi

still no sign of mine funnily enough....

oh and they got his letter

basically he told them he did have money but he sent it all to thailand for his baby cos he had no milk and it was more important than presents, but he loves them all equally

thats ok then

luckily they seem to be immune to his idiocy now, and they do have a few gifts from me and p

it never ceases to amaze me how everything is always about him

even this letter was worded to make the kids feel sorry for him, not sorry for them

like how he sold "treasured possessions" to get money for them, but then he discovered that his "poor baby in thailand" had no money for milk (yeh right, she has her entire family there, whom they live with, plus it sounds like another scam , but i dont want to sound bitter)

and if i let him have HIS stuff in my garage( which isnt his at all cos the judge said anything he left behind after a certain date and time was legally mine), then he could sell it and give the money to them

it was also full of bollox promising to flood them with gifts if he ever got money

poor him once again basically

they were left unable to feel disappointed by his lack of effort, because he worded it in such a way THEY felt bad about complaining

lou33 · 21/12/2010 17:28

omg i just got this classic from my exh regarding ds1 and his being off school (from illness as i have been updating you), and about dd2 and her education

i hope you enjoy it

"Listen Lou, we split and I made it easy for you, you kept Kids, house and car.
I capitulated easy enough I felt that was the correct thing at the time

but WTF are you doing with their education?

Ds1 report was shite and dd2 is not in school.
for god sake get it organised.

you have everything laid out for you, you have not worked since xxxx , and judge others , but that is not the real world
please give our kids a future, all you have to do is get them the education they deserve, FFS you have some geezer with no kids who has
had them handed to him ( lucky for him the early hard years were dealt with by me) between the two of you surely a decent education /future is not beyond your means

get off your arse and get them to school"

lilacbauble · 21/12/2010 17:42

Lou, Biscuit is all I can say.

lou33 · 21/12/2010 17:45

i know

2 yrs ago at this time i had to report him for harassment, lets hope i dont have to again

my reply was v polite , amazingly

lilacbauble · 21/12/2010 17:53

I'm amazed that you even bothered to reply!

lou33 · 21/12/2010 17:57

i did, to tell him if he had bothered to be involved he would have known ds1 was sick and had been since nov and dd2 and myself get evaluated every year by the home ed service

and to remind him to keep civil or else i will report him again for harassment

and i asked him where my nisi was
