Hello!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ninah · 23/08/2010 17:47

yup saw them Smile

whiteandnerdy · 23/08/2010 17:49

Did they Play 'do you realise' ... that's 1 epic song!!

mummyilubyou · 23/08/2010 17:49

ooh, nice local blokey on GSM was at green man, any good bands I can name drop ?

ninah · 23/08/2010 17:59

probably w&n
it was a long set, spectacular - but I am not in the best place to tell you much detail about that evening Blush
another band i liked, same evening, was Neon Indian but I have no idea if I would like it in the cold light of day
Laura Marling has a great voice, bit dirgy, Billy Bragg - usual brand
my friend saw Mumford who got a huge crowd
Unthanks were good apparently

Supercherry · 23/08/2010 18:05

That sounds like fun Ninah. I bet he did think you were attractive really you know- someone laughing and having fun is very attractive to men.

My potential date is now confirmed for fri after next- hoorah :) Butterflies.

ninah · 23/08/2010 18:14

he took his dinner with a few less herbs let's say
date - details? how exciting
nearly a fortnight is a horrible length of time to build up the butterflies I agree!

mummyilubyou · 23/08/2010 20:50

oh god, what has happened? I am making jam and listening tot he archers omnibus............ Shock

mummyilubyou · 23/08/2010 21:41

so I have made really nice jam

where is everybody???

ninah · 23/08/2010 21:43

well I'm here
sod the archers tho
what kind of jam?

mummyilubyou · 23/08/2010 21:49

blackberry

picked em in the back lane yesterday

haven't made jam in years

is displacement activity

i really should get out more Grin

ninah · 23/08/2010 21:52

sounds good
I made a v good elderflower champagne last year
there is something very satisfying about garnering and making, mine usually have some kind of alcoholic theme, sloe gin etc, but I made plum jam once
and just before we went away we ate a marrow from the garden
what do you think of Leonard Cohen? y or n

mummyilubyou · 23/08/2010 21:58

you are so right, is cosy feeling - and I love the smell it gives the house

the lanes around here are full of fruit atm although I suspect I wouldn't know a sloe if it bit me (as opposed tot he other way round Grin). Elderflower anything always looks really hard work, like you need masses to even make the tiniest amount

can honestly say I have no opinion of Leonard Cohen - I'll listen to almost anything though so would probably but in favour unless thrash metal (and even I know that isn't his genre...)

so did the sexy mac get much use?

ninah · 23/08/2010 22:08

elderflower champagne is v easy and you don't need much preparation, just a bagful of flowers - no thorns involved
to make about 3 litres
if made well it has quite a euphoric effect
sloes are small and purple, you pierce them and add them to gin, sugar, keep for ages, bit of vanilla essence maybe
Just asking about LC cos saw a film of him at festival, v 70s, I like him v much but there is a slight cheesiness at times
I did not manage to get a sexy mac, that was before eve took up the sexy mac crusade - I was lamenting on here it was strictly practical
it kept me dry what can I say?
how's it going online mily are you still speaking to your nice chap?
and btw I listen to gardeners qt

mummyilubyou · 23/08/2010 22:18

ok, that makes me feel better about the archers - am in denial of my upbringing (15 min daily drip feed for 18 years....) but can't hold back every now and again

tbh the nice blokes must all be out, or something, because they haven't read my replies - hence displacement activity.

so we shall see

but I am going out with a v nice gang from work on Thursday to an actaul pub with real people in it so you never know, I might even have a proper conversation with someone.

ref cheesy music, I am a sucker for that, are we talking frank sinatra cheesy?

mummyilubyou · 23/08/2010 22:20

y'know, on the one hand I actually love living on my own (with the dds), I can spend the evening making jam and listening to the archers or whatever and I don't feel lonely, maybe because of very full on job which means I am grateful to escape to my own company

but I would love a really good snog Grin

ninah · 23/08/2010 22:25

no in LC we are talking depressive
plus the backing singers have those massive glasses
I love frank but LC is kinda BLUE cheese
Thursday sounds good. My job is in a preschool so not much social stimulation after hours professionally speaking
is just nice to get out and get some adult conversation isn't it
as for R4 I was brought up from Dogger Fisher German Bight to Play for Today and all in between, still like the plays and
Desert Island Discs is sometimes a revelation

ninah · 23/08/2010 22:29

OK x post
Must admit the hols did make me restless for a snog a bit, but I am so conscious of the adverse effects the fallout could have on our lives
I feel safer without really
tho ds took to holiday chap in a big way
should I give him a name on here? would be first for me. He can be Holiday Man.

mummyilubyou · 23/08/2010 22:40

ooh, Holiday Man? As in blokey who saw you stuck in the mud? Yes to official MN name, but only if there is a chance you might keep in touch with him

not great with blue cheese tbh altho anything that has got a good tune will do iyswim

yes, huge R4 family, that and the gruaniad.

When xh was in the army and we lived on a base, my daily copy at the little cornershop was on its own, next to huge piles of the T'graph, Daily Express et al. I used to joke about having to wrap it in a copy of the NotW to get past the guard on the gate

I know what you mean re fallout into our lives - have browsed seevral old versions of this thread and there are some tales aren't there? I am definitely not contemplating anything longterm at this stage, but someone to take my mind of the divorce would be a good start

and so to bed.....this is the last week of 3 that I am covering my boss's job as well as my own and I am knackered, keep having to do conference calls at stupidly early times in the morning in order to fit everything in. Roll on the start of term and I will have a week off myself Grin

nn ninah, enjoy sleeping under a real roof...

ninah · 23/08/2010 22:51

keeping in touch is HM/s job
I hope he's up for it but life has made me a cynic so I am not holding my breath
nn mily
you are doing so well, it is such early days you are so goddam capable I feel sure that marital sofa will be squeezed if you want that
or the chandeliers will have a workout in the meantime if not lol
checks entrance for monty
nope, can't see her
just me and len then nn all xx

Monty100 · 23/08/2010 23:01

Ninah - BOO! Grin and welcome home. Glad you had a good time. Yy - stuff going on. (ffs)

Have been lurking and loads of action on here by all accounts.

Might be joining up again Shock.

ninah · 23/08/2010 23:05

Late entrance with smoke and lights
Missed you man (how sad is that)
you OK?
[email protected]

Monty100 · 24/08/2010 00:22

You too. Smile

mummyilubyou · 24/08/2010 10:06

yo monty, how's it going?

I have been browsing through old versions of this thread and it really does make me rofl, you folks are such a wise bunch

ninah · 24/08/2010 10:38

ah that's why most of us are single Grin
all dps heavily quality controlled, like jolly green giant sweetcorn
btw did we develop a rule for how long it should take someone to contact you if they like you?

lou33 · 24/08/2010 10:45

Not sure. Dp was in touch with me agsin before i had got back from the first date, and had arranged to see me again before the first date ended lol
