Eh?

Cabbagefamily · 19/04/2025 11:33

What? What are London English people?

Abracadabra12345 · 19/04/2025 11:34

Huh??

IDontLikePinaColadas · 19/04/2025 11:34

I’m baffled too

ReignOfError · 19/04/2025 11:35

What are you wittering about? I’m a born Londoner but no longer live there, do I count in whatever nonsense you’re spouting?

BobbyBiscuits · 19/04/2025 11:35

If you mean people born in London. Well, there's millions of them so I wouldn't be able to bundle them all into one category. They just happen to be born in the capital of the country, because their parents moved there or were also born there?

Velvetbee · 19/04/2025 11:36

Maybe there should be a comma? What do we think of London, English people?

Velvetbee · 19/04/2025 11:37

Or what do we think of London English, people?

LeticiaMorales · 19/04/2025 11:40

I'm afraid I can't comment as I'm not English 🙁

Another question... what do you think of London, Irish people?
Me: Love it! Very exciting city 😁

EmpressaurusKitty · 19/04/2025 11:48

Is the theory that London English people are loud?

Why English people specifically?

heldinadream · 19/04/2025 11:51

And this is why SPAG is important.

LeticiaMorales · 19/04/2025 11:51

heldinadream · 19/04/2025 11:51

And this is why SPAG is important.

Exactly.

Lurkingandlearning · 19/04/2025 11:53

I’m guessing you were expecting a lot of bigotry. You must be disappointed so far.

Hoppinggreen · 19/04/2025 11:53

Well I am Northern so I suppose I should be both frightened of them and hate them but they are just people
If you want loud go to Leeds

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 19/04/2025 11:53

What do you think, OP? Why do you need a collective opinion on something that is just goady nonsense.

Chewbecca · 19/04/2025 11:53

Answer 1: I think English people from London are an extremely varied, mixed group, very difficult to make an overall comment as it is so non-homogenous.

Answer 2: As an English person, I think London is a great city to visit. Full of history, museums, theatres, fab restaurants. I wouldn't want to live there though, too expensive and busy.

andfinallyhereweare · 19/04/2025 12:15

We think they are great ( I may be one)

LeticiaMorales · 19/04/2025 12:17

I know they are great (I am one)

canthavethatonethen · 19/04/2025 12:20

Do you mean Londoners in general, or English people of any ethnicity who happen to be born in London, or do you mean English people who can trace their London ancestors back for centuries?

London, by the way, has been multicultural for over 2,000 years.

Context is everything.

heldinadream · 19/04/2025 12:24

Perhaps @LindaGreatBeautymummy could come and clarify the punctuation, and, therefore, the question?
Was it meant to be;
A) What do we think of London, English people?
B) What do we think of London English, people?
Or C) as written but awkwardly constructed: What do we think of London English people?
Hmm? 🧐

canthavethatonethen · 19/04/2025 12:25

Hmm indeed.
