sfx - I'm really excited that we're having an evening out tomorrow on our own and your niece will be babysitting. . I'm sure dd will have a lovely time with her.

SJ99 · 19/09/2008 10:53

Mellow - am excited for you, hope you have a lovely time

Thankfully DS had a good solid 12.5hrs sleep last night, he was a bit sensitive this morning but was happy enough when I left him at preschool.

Tis weird about toddler eating habits, I cannot fathom it out and don't even bother trying to now. DS just eats when he wants to, all I can do is keep offering food annoying as it can be for me. He asked for weetabix for breakfast today but then didn't touch any of it I did at least manage to get a slice of toast down him later on.

Sfx - do they provide lunch at nursery? Maybe she doesn't like what's on offer? Can you take a packed lunch for her?

Oh well, best get on as have my parents and some rellies coming to visit after lunch. Then we're off to Oxford tom to meet up with some friends (the 43yr old who had twins last yr!)

SJ99 · 19/09/2008 10:55

Also meant to say Paddle - enjoy your zen weekend & love to Kew, we may try and visit her on Sunday. Don't think DH will go to Paddling, he said he'd prefer to go with you!

sfxmum · 19/09/2008 11:04

mellow am sure it will be fine, niece is a nice girl, Enjoy

SJ the food is nice and the other day she ate all the pasta, too much of a temptation I guess and she mostly likes the puddings

Hello all!

Had very manic morning but promised DS1 that we will be doing absolutely nothing but play at home this afternoon after school.

sfx - when I "settled" DS1 in nursery we stayed for a lunch session and I stayed with him through lunch. MIL who does early years education says kiddies get worried about eating with others.

mrsR - mellow's night out is reminding me - who's your babysitter? Perhaps she would like to babysit for us at some point.

paddle - ds1 thinks cottage cheese is revolting, ds2 thinks it's nice. Me, I didn't dare to try it... looks scary. Do your zen friends have children?

SushiMummy · 19/09/2008 12:40

Wow, blue sky! Or am I dreaming?

Hi everyone!

Got some books, magazines and cookies for Kew. MrsR/Paddle - can you please tell me which ward Kew is? Is it easy to find her? TIA

sfxmum · 19/09/2008 12:51

am sorry to back out but am no longer free on Sunday and Monday, should be able to help after that but have to deal with something personal first

Sushi oh you are kind - good job I didn't arrange flowers, none are allowed. I'll text you the ward - quite hard to find but just head for the Hammersmith Hospital (where the car park is) at the back and when you see the new modern building go through the revolving doors and the ward is on the first floor.

Kew looked a lot better today (although she said she was actually ok the other day!) some colour has returned to her cheeks and the blood spots are disappearing. They have double-dosed her on everything, she hasn't had a blood test yet so isn't sure of her platelet increase.

Her poor Mum has her annual scan today but her brother is meeting her at the Marsden to take care of ds for a couple of hours. So today is good for visitors.

Right hire car is on drive way so all ready to go to the caravan.

slng - I'll give her your number - she is only free until the beginning of October but my LOs absolutely adore her.

Right must go, ds has just been climbing on the washing machine door, to get the keys to go out. Little horror - still hasn't eaten much.

MrsRecycle · 19/09/2008 14:30

Kew's been most disheartened to note there isn't a thread for her so I've started one here (with her approval)

sillybigsausage · 19/09/2008 16:55

..this one is very quiet

mellow2 · 19/09/2008 17:07

Yes, I went to see Kew and I brought flowers as I didn't know about the flower ban. Anyway, she's in high spirits and her platelet count is up! Poor Kew. I couldn't believe the number of drugs she was on.

Sushi - it's much more practical to bring magazines and food.

mellow2 · 19/09/2008 17:14

Sfx - That backpack does look nice but it looks heavy. I was thinking of buying something for under a tenner as it's not going to last her very long.

I bought dd a few things from mini boden as you suggested. Dd absolutely loves her apple and butterfly t shirts.

slng · 19/09/2008 17:17

mellow - very good plan to buy cheap backpack. DS1 drags his along the ground now and then and you get holes in the bottom quite quickly ... Luckily it was a woollies one.

sfxmum · 19/09/2008 17:38

mellow dd has one from mothercare Peppa Pig which she uses for her snacks when we go out it is serviceable will get her a little life bag too because she seems to want to carry stuff

about little clothes I thought some of the things this season weren't as goo but dd loves the sparkly fairy and bold contrasting patterns

dd has asked me to write a Christmas list, where she got this idea I do not know but anyway she wants a guitar a drum and a trumpet

OP posts:
sfxmum · 19/09/2008 17:39

meant to say before hospitals frown on flowers on account of the water being breeding ground for nasties

OP posts:
mellow2 · 19/09/2008 17:59

sfx - I showed the peppa pig backpack on the mothercare website and she said that's mini sfx's. I thought she was just making it up.

I was about to order her a Charlie and Lola backpack (dd's favourite characters). I might wait now to be wowed by your Little Life backpack before making my purchase.

mellow2 · 19/09/2008 18:01

Sfx - I have to say I didn't think the styles were that great but dd does love wearing them. But I thought the quality of the material is pretty good.

mellow2 · 19/09/2008 18:03

Hello,

I found the Littlelife ladybird daysack on Amazon for £15.99 inc. p&p.

Amazon has some really good prices. I wish they sold clothes.

sfxmum · 19/09/2008 18:08

they have them here too which is where I originally meant but could not find it

but Amazon often have good prices and can do free delivery which is always a plus

OP posts:
mellow2 · 19/09/2008 18:13

Sfx,
I found it. Here it is. But they charge £3.95 for delivery which means it only costs a £1 more than the other store.

mellow2 · 19/09/2008 18:16

Sorry, if I'm boring everyone to death with my search for the best price for a backpack. I know. I need to get a life.

lol Mellow, hope your quest ends soon

Apparently ds has just told dh I have to go shopping tomorrow!

SJ99 · 19/09/2008 18:50

I guess miniRos you won't hear any arguments from you

DS told me to drink some wine this evening!
