SJ99 · 12/06/2008 09:29

Morning

Yes pretty ridiculous about documents being forgotton.

Welcome back Slng - hope you had a good trip

MrsR - hope you feel better soon

Foxie - I think I would only say anything more about it if you knew her well and it wasn't going to make a mountain over a molehill.

Parents coming later today for long wkend. Will take DS to Science museum tomorrow so will stay local today

sfxmum · 12/06/2008 09:36

good morning all

slng welcome back, hope trip went well

have a lot to catch up with today so probably will stay home only going out to get a present for dh

was watching the Falklands play last night, pretty sympathetic portrait of mrsT and cabinet I thought

ComeOVeneer · 12/06/2008 09:49

MOrning all. Well the rain kept me awake half the night (trouble with a loft bedroom and velux windows). Then at 4am I couldn't remeber if I had locked the garden room door, so had to trundle down to check (I had). So feeling rather bleary eyed. Today is the day of my PTA talk so probably that was playing on my mind to). Will be glad when it is over, although unfortunately I have to do it again next Thursday.

Sorry you/ds/dh are ill MrsR.

Hope you had a good trip slng and the children get over the jetlag quickly.

Foxie, I agree saying any more will just increase the awkwardness of the situation, try to carry on as normal and eventually the memory will fade.

stepfordwife · 12/06/2008 11:49

hello everyone
foxie how very . poor woman and poor you.

welcome back, sing. hope you had a fab time.

sfx - dd was fine back at CM, thanks. mind you, i think CM telling her she'd purchased a new toy fifi three-wheeler buggy had a lot to do with that

yes, those lost documents - disgraceful. surely shouldn't be reading such highly sensitive stuff on the train

good luck with your presentation this evening, CoV, sure you'll be fab
toodlepip

sfxmum · 12/06/2008 13:07

cov best of luck for late, I ma sure you will do well

xoxo · 12/06/2008 14:24

Hello all

I'm trying to catch up on all that's going on, but it's impossible.

Paddle - going travelling? Heard about yr terrible neighbours; poor you. I'd def be tempted to travel now, before dd starts school as you'll never get the chance again.

SJ: nice to see you again we always seem to bump into each other when going in different directions . YOu look grand . Fab day for teh 1 oclock club. We haven't been in ages and I'd forgotten how good it is.

Kew: can I ask if I gave you a mercedez benz car seat? I can't remember who I gave it to, and if poss, and whoever I gave it to is finished with it, I'd like it back (November time!). If not you, or you've given it to someone else then don't worry.

Funny thing is - sods law?- we had just finished clearing out all the baby stuff on a friday, and found out about pregnancy on the following monday. God has a sense of humor sometimes!

Steppy - by gum you're old, but you're wearing well! . Great to know about us more mature ladies giving birth. I was termed a 'geriatric mother' when I had DS aged 37; lordy knows what they make of me now.

Can someone remind me when I can dye my hair again; might make me feel less grey and wrinkled

Kewcumber · 12/06/2008 14:36

no Oxo - you'd just given the car seat to someone else before me I seem to recall - you gave me something but I can't remember for the life of me what it was. I've just given my first car seat to someone else but she may have bought a new one by Nov in which case you're welcome to it back.

I have a wooden walker from Paddle which you're welcome to if she doesn't want it back (Paddle - do you want it back?!), but most of my stuff isn't newborn so would be too big.

Kewcumber · 12/06/2008 14:37

good luck COv

Paddlechick666 · 12/06/2008 14:59

happy for wooden walker to go to who ever would like it.

Oxo, I am actually about to clearing out a whole heap of stuff that DD has outgrown but I am intending to sell rather than donate I'm afraid.

Items such as Graco Travel Cot with Bassinet, full set of unisex original gro-bags summer/winter 6m to 36m (about 7 of 'em i think!). Chico high chair and Handysitt. Graco Auto Baby Group 0+ with base. Maxi Cosi Priory Group2. Tomy Baby Monitor. Babysense Alarm thingy. Bouncy Seat thingy. Babygym and babynest........

you get the picture LOL!

let me know if you'd be interested in anything.

ps: nice lunch kew

Paddlechick666 · 12/06/2008 15:01

oh and good luck too Cov!

xoxo · 12/06/2008 18:47

Hi Kew - thanks for that. If only I could remember who I gave it all to
Paddle: I'm sure I'd be interested in some of your stuff. Our will be a winter baby so it sounds like the seasons are different. I'll text you for a meet up (assume yr phone number is the same?)

Bedtime for munchkins now - do you think they know it Let the nightly fight commence!

Paddlechick666 · 12/06/2008 20:22

Well just back. We went to the pub after the meeting, purely to talk to the owner about fundraising events held in conjuction with them of course .

It went ok. except the person before me spoke for almost 40 minutes which made for a very bored crowd. By then my mouth felt like the sahara desert so I think it effected my speech somewhat. Half way through my speech I noticed at the back of the room out of the corner of my eye a big grey/white fluffy moving object, then it was gone, so I thought I imagined it. Stumbled a bit, composed my self then saw it again half way down the side of the hall. A huge incredibly furry cat had wandered in! However because everyone was facing me they didn't see it, so because I totally lost my track I had to explain, then a slightly farsical (sp) cat chasing episode occured before I carried on.

However I lived to tell the tale. But have to repeat the experience (hopefully minus the cat) next week for the other new intake.

KC it is a day for parcels here so have fun, would like to try it sometime

hope everyone is well today

fitfox · 13/06/2008 09:31

Well done CoV - did people laugh at the cat incident? The 2nd time will feel like a breeze for you

We had a lovely evening last night. We went to a Mass in someone's house, followed by a children's party for the First Holy Communicants.

The house was one of those mansions opposite Kew Gardens and the priest said the mass for the members of 10 families.

It felt as though we had been transported back in time to a village community, with the priest saying mass for a tiny community, all bound together by the long prepartion process we have been through (months of meetings and lessons, preparing for the First Holy Communion). It felt very intimate and very special

Afterwards I was saying this to our priest and he said that the first ever masses were indeed held in people's houses, in tiny communities, and followed by a feast and celebration.

All very Little House on the Prairie

SushiMummy · 13/06/2008 11:07

Hi everyone!

CoV - well done on the speech!

MrsR/Paddle - had a bad headache all day yesterday, too. Feeling a bit better but lacking energy...

foxie - the family mass sounds nice. I used to watch Little House on the Prairie religiously when I was small.

OK - it's an open day at the school next Monday. What kind of questions should I ask?

ComeOVeneer · 13/06/2008 11:30

Morning all. The mass sounds lovely foxie. MrsR how you/ds etc feeling? Having a lzy morning, bit of reading/mn whilst I have the house to myself. No plans for the weekend to which is good judging by the weather forecast
