erm, not sure if this will work but have started a thread in the interests of currying favour with MNHQ!

lol at minisfx again! She's so funny.

This is why I'm getting rid of the carpets downstairs, they just soak up any dirt & look disgusting!

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2007 14:28

i'm pricing up new carpets myself too

dd napping, i am working. so much for my day off or catching a power nap myself

ps: happy birthday for yesterday SJ, sorry i didn't say before

OP posts:
sfxmum · 16/11/2007 14:36

paddle hope dd is properly on the mend

Ros - I wish we could get rid of carpets but completely overruled on that one by dh, for now at least, I hate carpets with a passion.

  • am worried that you think dd torturing me is funny

today in M&S she picked up a white princess frock and said 'oh I love the twirly dress mummy' I felt sick

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2007 15:12

sfx, she's running a low fever but had a good nap and is now consuming cake in front of cbeebies

i plan a cruisy afternoon as we're both knackered.

dd just woke up from her nap as i was hanging laundry on the landing. she was so excited to see her T shirt and I explained I'd washed it and it was hanging up to dry so she could wear it again anotehr day. she said "oh thank you mummy"!!!

soooooo cute!

had a vomit moment myself earlier tho as dd had a similar reaction to something i thought vile. i dread to think what future shopping expeditions will be like on Paddle Planet.

ps: going by what Kew was trying subvert her with earlier I think Kew will have to be shopping monitor for DD!

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 16/11/2007 15:34

shopping planet paddle will consist of you taking DS for juice whilst paddle and I coo over the pretty frocks.

Think I will take Ds swimming now, sorry QS didnt get online until too late and DS only woke at 3pm anyway.

sfxmum · 16/11/2007 16:57

well ladies this is what I am talking about

sympathy please

bunyanvillas · 16/11/2007 17:08

OK yes, sympathy most definitely granted! I think that my dd and your dd would get on very well!

Paddlechick666 · 16/11/2007 17:09

[gak] [gak] [gak]

but sfx, clearly you are a bad parent if you do not buy it.

dd took great pleasure announcing at the top of her voice "don't hit me mummy" whilst we were at tesco this morning.

WTF!!!!

i'll have child protection coming down on me next.......

of course, i wasn't hitting her nor was i even patting her back or bottom which is when she has said it in the past.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 16/11/2007 17:17

thank for the sympathy am consoled by the fact she wants a truck for Christmas as well.

bunnyan how old is your dd? mine 2.6

paddle dd shouted v.loudly 'don't touch me' 'you are not my friend any more' a few days ago

bunyanvillas · 16/11/2007 17:22

dd is 2.10 and the proud owner of a verrry tasteful pair of sugar-pink sparkly shoes .. but I did buy her a "bob the builder" hat from a charity shop last week to try and balance it out. One can only try ...

sfxmum · 16/11/2007 17:30

dd has some silver sparkly pumps

well at least she does have on her Christmas list, a pair of binoculars and magnifying glass for creature hunting, and Iggle Piggle
she is showing a preference garages and dolls houses but not for dolls I think it is just about putting things in boxes.

SJ99 · 16/11/2007 17:47

Oh dear that dress is a bit much, you have my sympathy!

rosmerta · 16/11/2007 18:40

ok sfx, you do have my sympathy for the dress!

Poor ds seems to have had a relapse. He woke a bit earlier from his nap but was all full of beans, despite his cold, then suddenly turned really clingy and upset. I think he fell asleep on me at one point. We've missed his bath tonight & put him to bed already!

SJ99 · 16/11/2007 19:02

Poor mini-Ros, hope he feels better after a good sleep

DS in bed, I think he was asleep before I shut his door. I have Harry Potter on dvd tonight, can't wait to watch it (how sad?!)

sfxmum · 16/11/2007 19:06

sorry about the poorly ones

dh brought crumble and custard yum

SJ I have only ever seen 3 Harry Potter movies

there are loads of movies I would dearly love to watch but have not quite got around to it, there is no blockbuster any where near here

bunyanvillas · 16/11/2007 20:02

OMG - crumble & custard! What's your address? dh has been despatched to the Coffee Pot for a takeaway but some crumble for puds would be nice. Although have just had a starter of 2 weetabix. I was "small for dates" during last pg and boy am I trying to make up for it this time!

sfxmum · 16/11/2007 20:10

if it all goes well (stressful tearful day today) I dearly hope not to put on 4 stone. must remind dh to stop bringing pudding and making me flapjacks to allegedly increase my iron intake

it was rhubarb double yum
one of my favourite puddings is gooseberry fool

bunyanvillas · 16/11/2007 22:21

SFX, hope you have a better day tomorrow. Your dh sounds like a star.

fitfox · 16/11/2007 23:04

Hi jus whizzing past as am exhausted as per. usual

Got 2cutes e-mail and feel so helpless I just want to hug her and Kai and make it OK for them but can't

MrsR - so glad about your good news and would like to see you soon

Kew IKWYM I thought I would hate having a lodger but its been fine - men are easy as they don't impinge on your space and its quite nice having another adult around to have quick chats with as you pass on the stairs. (BTW you can get £2oo pr week from a local college ) B&B easy as you just leave brekkie out for them (cereals etc) and they make it themselves. Agree it would be a pan to cook in evenings (but £200 per. week very tempting huh?)

Paddle will miss your lovely friend - please bring him over for a cuppa sometimes

WEll Grrrls I have booked a cleaer for next week (Mellow's) she sounds great!!

How very grown up - a lodger and a cleaner LOL!!

Paddlechick666 · 17/11/2007 07:53

morning all

great news, we had a good night! dd coughed for a while but settled about 8:30ish and didn't stir till nearly 7am!

i was asleep by 9:30pm myself.

anyone around today? had planned a bike ride but it looks a bit dank and damp out there.

right, dippy eggs for brekkie for us.

foxie, glad the lodger thing is working out so well for you guys. i know my friend loves your place. great way to top up the funds, i think you've got to have the proper space for it to work tho especially in a family home. you're loft conversion is perfect.

why am still tired?

OP posts:
fitfox · 17/11/2007 09:16

H Paddle - I'm glad your cute DD is a bit better today

I am working this arvo - we have a big event which has creche so am taking the Dcs with me. What time does your DD go to bed Paddle? I was thinking maybe we could drop by yours on the way home but it won't be until about 6pm.

If not, maybe Monday am? I could maybe whizz by for a quick coffee or you could drop by here. Work related of course....I need to get some stuff for the cleanerso could maybe goto Tesco Monday am and drop in. I would only hve DS2 with me.

Its cold in't it?

BBBBrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have been waiting for an Ebay item whih the seller sent 14 days ago and have been corresponding with her (lovely woman). I think the PO tried to deliver it yesterday but couldn't so am hoping it is a PO.

fitfox · 17/11/2007 09:22

Mymissing Eay item, which I hope to find at the PO tody:

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180171639075&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=008

stepfordwife · 17/11/2007 09:33

morning, all!
how you all diddling?
ah foxie, that'll be the baby-blue duffel coat then? it's gorge.
hope all poorly dcs are well.

lol SJ..just off to buy some nice plastic blue bags. know what you mean about carpets, sfx. but giot them upstairs as so damn noisy with the brood's 'light feet."

paddle, re your dd's 'don't hurt me, mummy" ds2 is a master at this. at best he cowers;"don't hurt me again mummy?" once he shouted in the supermarket:'don't punch me in the face, mummy?!"
dear god.. so glad i've got an anti-smacking policy (just doesn't apply to punching, according to ds2)

oh, that pta meeting was quite good for people-observing actually.

well. big excitement am having my hair cut and, more importantly, coloured today to zap the rampaging grey. love, love, love going to the hairdressers. my aussie hairdresser sorry, hair artist, is a giggle, you read magazines and drink coffee and you're child-free. bliss.
have a good one everyone
keep warm
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 17/11/2007 09:34

what's the event, foxie/
very civilised to have a creche.

Paddlechick666 · 17/11/2007 09:37

foxie, how many boden coats do you actually need?

dd is generally in her bath by just after 6pm this week as she's pretty exhausted by then what with being under the weather.

can't do monday either i'm afraid, tele-conf start at 9:45am and don't finish till 5pm all day!

also, as H is dicking landord around i have a couple of agents coming over to value the property.

we're still in our pjs and i am sneezing like mad so i don't think much will happen before lunch today!

oh the folly of making plans with dd before bedtime. all i am getting now is "bike ride mummy".

can you get your dd to teach mine how to snuggle up with chocs and watch audrey hepburn movies please?

hope you don't work too hard this arvo!
