So many Suffolk people here, ive never met another MNer that I know of but there are certainly plenty of us about.

I'm just outside Southwold, always lived here and nowhere else I'd rather be.

Doublemuvver · 15/03/2014 16:24

How multi cultural is suffolk these days? It's an important consideration for my much longed for return. I'm guessing Ipswich would be the place to go?

ProfYaffle · 15/03/2014 16:35

Ipswich is probably a safe bet in that respect. We had some French friends living there who had a very multi-ethnic group of friends.

Waves back to Its0kToBeMe. Literally. You can probably see me if I run down to the main road!

The Tally Ho Tearooms in Mettingham, just outside Bungay on the old Beccles road, is a wonderful place. I've waxed lyrical about it on here before. Victorian dressed staff, gorgeous chintzy china, full silver service just for afternoon tea! Wonderful.

Elfy , the yarn shop is closed on Mondays Sad, open Tuesday to Saturday.

elfycat · 15/03/2014 18:25

Might be able to do Tues. I sort of run a craft club in my local Costa on a Tues morning (open to anyone btw) but could get to Woodbridge and back before the school run. Grin

BaileyWhite your list of villages around BSE was impressive, you listed pretty much all the villages surrounding mine, but not mine Grin
Please have a quick snoop on the Local site, it's really hard to make it successful but LESuffolk is trying very hard

outtolunchagain · 15/03/2014 18:47

There's also a shop in Lavenham called cafe knit

Doublemuvver it's getting better, Stowmarket has a strong Polish community and Bury has many more cultures represented than a decade ago

Butkin · 15/03/2014 19:05

Baileywhite - you passed the Suffolk test by giving my village a nice name check!

Just driven back home via Long Melford (other side of Bury from us) which has the only tack shop we can find that seems to stock the riding hats DD likes. It's a lovely village as well..

itfcbabe · 15/03/2014 19:05

I live in Woodbridge,I really like it here, moved from Ipswich last year, which I have had enough of.

Lived in Middleton from 9 years old and around there.12 years ago moved from Leiston to Ipswich.
Have also lived in Halesworth and Lowestoft in my time.

Southwold if the best place in the summer.I used to stay with my Grandparents every summer and go to the beach mission,If I won the lottery I would move to Southwold, want to move there when kids have all left home if I can.

Love Dunwich as well used to work at the beach cafe and Dunwich ship when I was a teenager!!

Also worked at Mary's tea rooms in Walberswick,I remember going crabbing there when I was younger.

Also worked in Aldeburgh in the White Hart hotel, and going to the Boat Regatta in Thorpeness.

My mum ran into Johnny Depp in the Dancing Goat in Fram Grin

Mitchy1nge · 16/03/2014 13:06

I remember when everybody was obsessed with the idea that he was buying a house in Fram, did it come true?

Mitchy1nge · 16/03/2014 13:19

our horses live very very very very very next door nearby

have never competed there as such but have been round the course for schooling/'fun' with varying levels of success Hmm
