no known sure fire sacrifices but doing my research, would dearly love to go to a festival while the weather is nice, this has not happened for 3yrs running.
Glasto next weekend expect rain

Good morning!

Rain.

So the trick is to book camping trip when there is no festival on. Hmm. Forgot to check. Bugger. Can always come home. Only nearby. Grin

sfxmum · 16/06/2011 11:41

Hello all

Tilly - that is Sad hope he gets to do some if not all of the items on his list

Copper - have you been bitten by the camping bug? Wink

Sfx - sorry to hear the exam didn't go as well as hoped. You may surprise yourself yet though

DS1 went to 2 parties but as both were drop off I made the most of the free childcare Grin

BF from school and her family came over from US yesterday to visit, had a fab time catching up and all the DC got on really well. Spent this morning at hospital with DS1 for his regular allergy check, next time they will re-test him and depending on the results we may be able to start giving him egg and nuts Shock Smile

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/06/2011 14:43

Hello!

vbus - not camping bug. Just getting money's worth. Grin

Listening to R4 drama - interesting. About 3 Hungarian girls being trained to be chess players. Oldest girl speaks 7 languages or something like that before 10 years old! Home-schooled, of course.

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/06/2011 19:21

Just ordered fleecy jumper and sun hat. Is it summer or what? Confused

sfxmum · 16/06/2011 21:03

vbus I hope the allergies improve as I expect things/food get harder to control as they grow older

copper it is called being prepared for the British SummerGrin

I so dearly wish for a dry festival and holiday

sfxmum · 17/06/2011 11:21

copper dh working from home doesn't really work well here, I either feel like chatting or want to be alone neither very good Grin

busy with stuff this morning looking out the window looks like running might not happen, my throat is sore so running in the rain probably not the bet idea

our plans for tomorrow have to be revised, don;t think the local fair will have many visitors

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 17/06/2011 11:31

It looks like pouring down just at school pick-up time. Again. I'm wearing my wellies today. Not going to subject my shoes to this weather again. That pair from last Friday hasn't quite recovered yet.

We have football and music tomorrow. And then Creperie Cila for lunch. Smile Then we are watching Megamind on dvd.

sfxmum · 17/06/2011 12:49

dd has music tomorrow morning, we were/ are supposed to go the the fair then do some shopping we shall see
Sunday being father's day we will be cooking some lavish breakfast then heading for Richmond park dd is riding and I could do with some running

think will oull out a DVD and do some indoor exercises
having been tackling the oven, feel like moving houseGrin

I have been to a few dry festivals and you know what, people complain it's too hot Grin Lots of people fainting and getting dehydrated, not much shade at festivals Hmm

DS1 had assembly today, it's very cute and also interesting to see how much they have changed in a space of a year

This is first wkend in ages we have 'no plans'. DS1 going to footy and I want to go to gym at some point and DH wants to go car shopping. We may go to Teddington festival on Sunday depedning on weather, it was really good fun last year

Pick up time already, brollies at the ready

sfxmum · 17/06/2011 18:21

vbus I expect that would happen Grin but since I am of the middle aged sensible persuasion we would probably be ok

I am really amused by the Koi assisted birth thread

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/06/2011 19:43

Hello!

Did mostly as planned, except no watching DVD on account of DS2 being completely monstrous. Says he's going to put on his "sensible hat" tomorrow. Hmm Hmm

Exhausted...

UptoapointLordCopper · 19/06/2011 20:53

Hello!

Bought 12 kiddie books from Oxfam. Shock Need new shelf.

TV time.

sfxmum · 19/06/2011 20:56

we need to move I think time to prune book collection

dh seems to have had a good father's day and is now grumbling that he is tired

anyway managed to run and sort of swim, dd did well riding today, will start more advance horse thingy in a few weeks, dh was apparently on full on pushy parent mode, good for himGrin

OP posts:
vbus · 19/06/2011 21:41

Hello Smile

Hope everyone having a good wkend. We had massive book cull when we moved last summer and still have loads more we should give to charity, I don't like parting with books.

Went to Imperial China today, was v. good food but place was packed

Need to up my game on exercise seem to have hit a brick wall and been too busy/tired to exercise, therefore have booked myself into Zumba next wkend Shock I know nothing about it apart from it's loud and the people are drenched in sweat when they come out Hmm

vbus · 19/06/2011 21:46

Tilly - have emailed you, please can you have a quick look ta

Kewcumber · 19/06/2011 22:18

Ds said to me today 'mum what do mummies do and what do daddies do'
Well pretty much mummies and daddies can do the same things.
'Oh I thought mummies did the important things and daddies did the other stuff'

Grin
UptoapointLordCopper · 19/06/2011 22:36

Kew - exactly. Grin

Shuffling appointments for next week. Always forget to put school assemblies in my diary ...

sfxmum · 19/06/2011 22:40

KewC give that boy a bigger hugGrin

assemblies? do parents attend them? seem to recall the Head talking about inviting parents in for an assembly on the annual come over to school and stay the morning day but I expect that will be next year

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 19/06/2011 22:47

lots of schools I know have paretns assemblies - was always surprised ours doesn;t

DS also announced last week "Mum the reason I can;t get to sleep at bedtime is because its not bedtime in Kazakhstan" crafty little bugger!

Unfortunately I had to point out they were 5 hours ahead of us and therefore he needed to go to bed at 2.30pm...

UptoapointLordCopper · 20/06/2011 11:17

We have one assembly a term for each class where parents are invited. We get herded into a hall, sit on chairs in rows, make appreciative noises and take photos. All over in about 30 minutes. That is, if they remember to tell you the correct date and time and you remember to put it in your diary.

LOL at bedtime in Kazakhstan.

Kewcumber · 20/06/2011 14:44

bumped into oh blimey whats her MN name these days - Tiily? in M&S cafe this morning - good lord her DS2 is virtually a teenager - sure he was about 3 weeks old about a month ago Shock

Looks like I might have a tentative offer (privately) on my house but can;t find anywhere to buy Angry
