fridays are good for me for coffee - perhaps somewhere central like the city or southbank or something....

OP posts:
scully · 03/08/2006 09:15

would love to join you in November

eidsvold · 03/08/2006 22:50

flannelettepyjamas · 07/08/2006 22:46

Hi everyone.
It's me Yummi, I've changed my name as this one suits me much better
I'd love to meet up.
I'll be back at work in a couple of weeks and will be working Tues and Thurs. Also my sister is here til the end of Aug but is away next week.
Southbank sounds good.
Let me know.

eidsvold · 07/08/2006 23:07

yummi aka flanno - did I read somewhere you are pregnant again - or is it my imagination?!?!

OP posts:
eidsvold · 07/08/2006 23:09

if congrats if not - forget my addled brain comments.

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 09/08/2006 04:01

Yep, you certainly did. Thanks
I'm only 6+5 so early days. The family don't know yet til after my scan.
I'm feeling ok so far but as my sister is here and is a party girl I am really missing my wine
I'm taking her to Swan Lake on Ice tonight at QPAC - have you heard about it? We saw Sleeping Beauty by the same crowd a couple of years ago and it almost reduced us and our Welsh rugby mate to tears it was so good.
I bet your girls would just love it!

eidsvold · 09/08/2006 04:18

wow - that sounds fab - dh and I have spent our money on tickets to see Dixie Chicks - he is a bit of a fan and of course we are looking forward to the U2 concert later in the year.

Dd1 would love things like that but for her - attention span is an issue so we have to pick things that are short - we did manage to see "where is the green sheep?' at Out of the Box festival and that 1/2 hr was about her limit.

Was thinking of taking them to see Hi-5 but before the tickets went on general sale - all the decent seats were gone ( we are able to buy early due to some membership) So no point in paying a fortune for nose bleed section - same with Wiggles. We are hoping Wiggles might release more seats like they did last year and we can get some on the side relatively near the stage but right next to a big screen.

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 10/08/2006 07:30

It was fab.
Quite different to Sleeping Beauty in that it was more of a 'ballet' style - lots of floaty dancing and music so it might not actually hold a short attention span too well after all ( Sleeping Beauty would I think - much more action and more jolly music).
Shame about High 5 and the Wiggles. A friend of mine has secured tickets to the Wiggles that she bought in an auction so we are going to that but I have no idea where the seats are (or what DD's attention span will be then!).
Very jealous about the Dixie Chicks though - was just listening to their album yesterday.
That's great that your DH loves them too - I've been to a few country music concerts by myself cos DH hates it.
Are you off to the Ekka this year?
My DH reckons that Blackpool (where I'm from) is what the Ekka would be if it was a town! I usually slap him hard for that one!

eidsvold · 11/08/2006 09:11

nah - we think dd1 would not cope with the crowds so we would have to have been yesterday or today - and they are her kindy days. We have the PIne Rivers Show and I think next year we might take the two girls to that one then - good enough for them at this age.

Are you able to see the fireworks???

Ekka is fab but not for really little children - poor dd1 would just lose the plot with sensory overload.....

OP posts:
eidsvold · 11/08/2006 23:09

I guess you are off to the Royal to have your baby - big deal out here - once you get over the South Pine River - you have to go to either Caboolture and Redcliffe. Have friends who really wanted to go to the Royal and are disappointed about going to Caboolture and Redcliffe.

OP posts:
eidsvold · 12/08/2006 09:58

we are off to the Ekka - just a quick visit to the kids area, animal nursery, junior side show and some show bags and then home again.

BTW - reason I knew you were pregnant - me too - due the same day - how scary - had originally posted under another name until I had told the family. Morning sickness is patchy. Been very tired and some days - terribly nauseous and other days fine.

Be third c-section for me so will probably be having babe mid March.... rather scary for an old bag like me

That's fantastic Eids. I'm so pleased.
I can't believe we're due on the same day! How wierd!
I'll be having a CS too so we could be having our bubs on the same day!
I'll be at the Mater this time.
Will you be at Redcliffe or Caboolture?
We can see the fireworks from our house though they are a long way away.
Hope you had fun at the Ekka - I'm told it was quite quiet yesterday.
We're going on Wednesday - mostly for the animals though.

Bouj · 13/08/2006 03:53

Aaaah, congrats Eids!!! Thats brilliant! Am all aglow now! And you too FP, is it very wrong for me to be clucky with a 13 week old!?! Would love a meet up, ds2 is much more managable (though saying that, he is having a strop under his playgym at the moment...)Say when and were, we are fairly flexible! S

eidsvold · 13/08/2006 06:40

they ahd a good time although dd1 tried to climb out of one ride with the showie woman screaming at her ( like that is going to work) she loved going on the huge slide with dh. We went through the animal pavillion ( UQ set up - next to the animal nursery) had some lunch and they were exhausted. Dd1 had used up her allocated patience with sensory overload so we headed off. It just got so busy so quickly.

I have been referred to the Royal and so will be having the baby there ( don't ask how!) But no Caboolture or Redcliffe for me.

So Fridays are good for me - as dd1 is off at kindy then so I have from about 10am til about 1pm free - if we meet in the city somewhere. ( allowing for travelling time.)

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 13/08/2006 23:00

Glad you had a good time Eids.
Last year we went with DD (13 weeks at the time) - she cried/screamed the whole time. But she was an irritable baby and I'm sure it wasn't the best sort of environment for her in retrospect. We'll go and visit the animals and play it by ear this year.
Bouj - I hope all's going well with your little boy.
Fridays are good for me too, but my sis is here til 31st August so I'll not be available on a Friday til after that.
How about the Friday following that - 1st Sept???

eidsvold · 13/08/2006 23:40

will check the Calendar and get back to you but the date does not ring a bell.

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 15/08/2006 00:14

okey dokey.
How about you Bouj?

Bouj · 15/08/2006 10:22

That should be ok - will double check and let you know. Will probably try and leave ds1 with mum, so will check with her.

eidsvold · 17/08/2006 03:43

I think I may have to take my mum to visit my great aunt that Friday - I meant to check with her yesterday when I saw her but forgot - if that is the case - what about the next friday?? 8th of Sept?!?!?

Can let you know Sunday about the 1st.

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 18/08/2006 00:13

8th is fine for me too.
Whichever suits ok.

Bouj · 18/08/2006 00:17

We're going camping on the 8th - the one after?!

eidsvold · 18/08/2006 04:16

yup - one after sounds fine - hold onto the first for now - will know after I see my mum on Sunday. If not - that 15th will be fine.

OP posts:
flannelettepyjamas · 18/08/2006 23:53

All are fine with me ( how boring is my life?)
Let me know whichever.

eidsvold · 29/08/2006 11:48

have to skip the 15th too ( oh my life - it is out of control) what about the friday after??? last day before school holidays???
