Hi all It’s Kerr here, I wanted to post a quick update as I’m conscious Pamela hasn’t been on for a few days and the thread seems to have reached its limit. Pamela hasn’t been feeling so good over the last few days - on a positive note, her bloods seem to have stabilised and, all being well, she might be ok for chemo round 2 in the next couple of days. She had a blood transfusion yesterday which, we hope, will also boost her energy levels. On the downside, her jaundice has returned, the bilirubin levels are increasing significantly. The CT scan at the beginning of the week showed no new blockages and our Consultant thought that some early necrosis of the tumour after the last chemo might be contributing, but nobody really knows what’s causing it. Further discussion to take place tomorrow. Seeing the jaundice is one of the worst parts of this, it’s so clear and obvious when it’s happening yet there’s nothing we can do to alleviate it. Just wanted to let you know the latest. Please, please keep praying for her - she’s my everything, my world, and every thought and prayer is deeply appreciated. Kerr

Please be OK Pamela. I know you and kerr are probably on with much more important things but I'd love to hear from either of you. Thinking of you and your family every day.
Thank you for starting these threads. You've been an inspiration. You're beautiful, funny and caring even when you're going through the worst. I'm sure it was my first comment, but I'll say it again, if you were my mother/wife/friend I'd be the proudest person on this earth.

Just got to say there are a lot of messages here, in the nicest possible way. saying things like - 'we've not heard' 'we'd love to hear' . I've been on since day 1 so not a newcomer but maybe just leave it as it can put pressure on and am sure we will hear at some point from Pamela or Kerr. Having just lost my sister to cancer all I can say is that we really valued every good message and call but the feeling of having to update can be a bit overwhelming and you also can feel guilty for not responding. I know everyone is doing all they can so I just say this with love

@deltablue my thoughts exactly but you put it so much nicer than I could.

We all hope for the best for this family but I wish people would stop asking for updates, I'm sure they have more important things on their minds.

@deltablue thank you for putting into words what I was thinking but couldn't have expressed so eloquently. The only thing that matters is the messages and thoughts people are posting, for Pamela and her family to read and take comfort from in their own time. That's the only purpose.

Pamela and Kerr, I'm continuing to think of you both often. I hope today is a comfortable day.

Do we not think it's best just to leave this thread as it is and let pamela and kerr update when or if they wish!? How long are the messages going to go on for until it becomes ridiculous? If they wished to update they would, I think all should agree to leave this until we hear further. It's been over a week now, how long are people going to keep posting for with no update?

So, well worded and exactly how I have been feeling over the last few days. There are certain posters that are taking it beyond a good wish message and starting to edge into the wanting an update territory.
I am sure it is well intentioned and done through genuine worry but maybe just step back and think before posting.

Also this. Someone will update if they think it appropriate to do so. The reality is though, updating a load of randoms on mum's net is probably not going very high on anyone's priority right now.

Totally agree. There's a line between support and mawkish sentimentality and sadly some posts are straying right over it. No need to tag the OP or ask for updates either, that's really not acceptable in this circumstance.

Time to leave the thread be for Pamela's family.

Totally agree. I check this thread regularly but I do think it's time to leave this thread and wait for any update.

Yes it's really hard to get the balance right. So many of us have been cheering Pamela on for so many months. I think Pamela and her family know that they are all in our thoughts.

Pamela I hope you know how many people have been moved by your words. I hope the love you have from people here has given you some comfort. I wish you and yours much love and strength for the time ahead x
