Well done both of you.

ArabeIIaScott · 12/07/2023 13:36

I'm so glad to hear you are more comfortable.

At night we have less cortisol production, which is perhaps why pain is so often worse at night. (Cortisol has anti inflammatory properties). And of course being tired means we're less able to cope.

Lovely picture of you and Kerr. Take care.

JudgeAnderson · 12/07/2023 13:37

Anyway, here we are, always together in faith, hope and love

And the greatest of these is love.

Wishing you so very well.

Hello to you both
you can do this , you ARE doing this!!! Keep the visualisation in your head and slay the b.
On a practical note , I drank lots and lots of water and bought a bright yellow sickness bucket 😂.

Lovely pic of you both.

Chemo is shit but it is doable - they tell you about all the possible side effects because they have to but don't pre-empt anything and assume that you will have xy and z effects. If it happens - it happens - but not until it happens!!

You still look amazing despite what you are going through!! 😊

Purplecatshopaholic · 12/07/2023 13:44

Regular lurker here, just popping on to say what a lovely pic of the two of you. Wishing you all the luck and love in the world today for the start of your chemo journey, from me and the dogs and cats near Edinburgh. Xxx

Farmy · 12/07/2023 13:44

Pamela in the nicest possible way, for someone who feels at deaths door, you look pretty incredible. Take the rough with smooth and tackle one hour at a time. Good luck with the chemo.

Nottogetapenny · 12/07/2023 13:45

You really are amazing! Hopefully this is the start of better things ahead. 🙏🌸🍀

lucylulululu · 12/07/2023 13:47

Lovely, lovely photo of you both ❤️
I think when night comes and things feel dark and never-ending, remember how you felt in these moments, how much stronger you felt and the more tolerable pain levels. Try and remember that and you know you can push through.

Just a little further and things will get easier little by little. Try to put things into this perspective: every moment that goes by is one step further towards kicking the cancer's butt. Every moment, every hour, every day that passes is another that you're closer to better days, and further past the bad ones. Take these little victories as big ones because that's what they are. You're amazing. 💐

Bellagio40 · 12/07/2023 13:48

Gorgeous picture of you both ❤️

loulouljh · 12/07/2023 13:49

Different sickness drugs available. When my husband had chemo he was never actually sick although felt it. He also found flat coke and dry roasted peanuts helped!

Although I am sure it does not feel like it, this is a good day. Last week you were really in a powerless position. Now you are fighting back with the aid of the chemo drugs.....bloody well done for getting this far. Hope the day goes smoothly....

FlatArthur · 12/07/2023 13:50

What a gorgeous photo of you and your husband.

Now ZAP that motherflipping tumour!

Sending loads of love ❤️ and hugs 🤗 XXX

adriftabroad · 12/07/2023 13:52

Gorgeous glamorous feet!

Very proud of you ❤

Lovesacake · 12/07/2023 13:57

Thinking of you this afternoon Pamela.
also, shallow I know but how on earth do you keep your hairy looking so clean and shiny whilst all this is going on??
also I have those pajamas too 😊

adriftabroad · 12/07/2023 13:58

Yes! The hair question!

Mysleepisbroken · 12/07/2023 13:58

I know you feel absolutely dreadful, but I think you are looking a bit more well in this last photos. Your colour is looking better and your eyes are less yellow etc. Maybe those drains are starting to kick in!

Best of luck for chemo starting.

Theloosegoose · 12/07/2023 13:58

Gorgeous couple, true warriors x

UseOfWeapons · 12/07/2023 14:04

You feel dreadful, but your spirit is unquenched, even if it dims a bit in the wee small hours. Pain is scarier at night, no distractions, cortisol is down, your body wants to rest, but is aware of every sensation much more.
You can do this, you are doing it, and you have amazing courage, dear Pamela. Thinking of you and your family every day, and sending hopes and prayers.

MWNA · 12/07/2023 14:07

So lovely to see you both. Such beauty and love.
You're quite a remarkable person. Your selflessness shines through - always concerned about other's comfort and well being. Truly impressive.
I love your gung-ho, can-do attitude. It may be white knuckled sometimes but it's so obviously who you are.
You are on my mind day in and day out. I'm at work at the moment and as I do every day, I glance at Mumsnet often to see if you've posted. It's such a reassuring pleasure when I see you have. (No pressure!😬)
Sending you strength and peace of mind and love.

AutisticLegoLover · 12/07/2023 14:08

Ready to kick some ass there with stylish toes and awesome bravery! I'm so glad you are able to have the chemo and agree that you made the right decision in going to London. you are one tough cookie. Another tip for pain is to focus on your breathing like in labour. try yo ride it not fight it when its bad knowing that it will ease off again. As soon aa the pain starts increasing ask for more drugs. If you wait until it is really bad it's harder to control so it's like a pan on low simmer with the vented lid on rather than boiling over and putting the lid on once it's boiling over. Hope that makes sense x

Bluelass23 · 12/07/2023 14:09

Hi Pamela, lovely photo of you and Kerr.

Hope your Chemo goes well today and you have a much better pain free night.

Keep on fighting Warrior Woman! Flowers
