We are in shock, horror, disbelief. Last week she had a sore leg and went to A&E, now she has stage 4 Neuroblastoma and chemo starts on Tuesday.
She's only 3 but she's taking it in her stride. She cried the other night and said 'I don't want to be sick, I just want to go to nursery with my friends' it broke my heart.
The implications are just hitting, our whole lives are turned upside down for at least a year. One of us will have to give up work, how will we cope? Financially, emotionally.
I have a black lump in my stomach and can't believe this is happening to us

💐 for you. Sending strength to you and your family. xx

ToddlerMumma · 20/09/2021 20:16

Thanks all for your support and kind messages. You don't know how much they mean x
She is currently having round 2 of chemo and coping well. No pain, Sickness and she is very happy and perky!
She started to lose her hair a couple of weeks ago. She came into the kitchen one day with a clump of hair... she wasn't scared just a bit bemused. We had talked about it, read books etc so she knew it was coming. The next day, I pulled her PJ top over her head and loads of hair came with it. So we took a trip to the hairdressers and we now both have a grade 2! She thought it was hilarious that I was having my hair cut so she wasn't bothered when it was her turn.
I went back to work today. It's strange/hard to think about something else. Life will be so busy and hard for many months to come but we just need to focus on the end result, this is temporary, she will best this x

Sending lots of love your way and I will keep your little one in my prayers. My friends daughter also has cancer and when I have spoken to her she did mention that you have financial advisors in the hospital who can support you with such things ❤️.. so hopefully they will be able to give some clarity on it when that time comes. Xxxxx

I've been thinking about you and your
Little Girl op. 4 is so special.

ToddlerMumma · 01/10/2021 22:20

We have lots of mid chemo tests next week, MIBG scan, ultrasound on her abdomen to see if the tumour has shrunk, hearing test to see if the chemo has impacted her hearing yet, bone marrow extract. She's also having a nasel feeding tube fitted as she's losing too much weight. I'm very excited to see the results of the various scans and tests but also terrified to see the results. In the meantime, she is brilliant - very happy, perky, enjoying her 2 week break in between chemo sessions. Her resilience is amazing

Hope you are ok. 💐

ToddlerMumma · 13/10/2021 01:50

We're in hospital now for round 3 of chemo. She had loads of mid cycle tests last week and we got amazing news! The cancer was 95% in her bone marrow before and is now 5%, her hotspots are down from 14 to 7 and her primary tumour has shrunk. We are so pleased to have some good news for a change! Her surgery is now mid November. This is better than my most hopeful hopes! I know we still have a long way to go but this has really boosted us when we needed it. Had to share our good news x
