My son may be dying

Just that.

He has cancer, they have not been able to control it.

They have given him one last chemotherapy to see if it can turn a corner but his body may not be able to tolerate it and it may not work.

We have been told to prepare ourselves for him to deteriorate suddenly.

My husband can't be with us because my son also has Coronavirus so we are in isolation and he is with our other son.

I’m so sorry OP. Your son sounds wonderful. Thinking of you all ❤️💐

MrsCalypsoGrant · 07/04/2020 12:28

Hi OP, hope it's been a good start to the day Thanks

Mummyoflittledragon · 07/04/2020 14:31

How is your ds today? Flowers

aloneinthenight · 07/04/2020 21:41

Another better day today. Counts are down a little so they seem to be happier.

Certainly not our of the woods but better than we were at the weekend.

So on we go.

That's brilliant news. Sending lots of love and strength your way x

TheVeryThing · 07/04/2020 23:18

Great to hear some good news. Hope you all get some sleep tonight.

OntheWaves40 · 07/04/2020 23:28

Glad that things have improved after such a difficult weekend and DH is there to for you both too. It’s ridiculous that the hospital can’t provide an extra bed for you both.

MrsCalypsoGrant · 07/04/2020 23:46

Really pleased to read your update. Hope you manage some sleep tonight, & have another positive day tomorrow 👍🏻

incognitomum · 08/04/2020 00:21

TKAAHUARTG · 08/04/2020 00:27

Hope everything keeps getting better for you all.

daisydalrymple · 08/04/2020 01:06

Oh that is so good to read. I hope things continue to improve one day at a time.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 08/04/2020 01:17

No advice, only that I’m thinking of you, your son and your family. Wishing you all the strength and love in the world Flowers

Mumdiva99 · 08/04/2020 01:35

Sons finally here are you 🥀🌹 Also still some 🌈. Still with you in spirit. X

Jenny70 · 08/04/2020 01:38

And just remember that Mumsnet has people in many time zones, up late, up early. There are always people here if you need them.

So sorry this is happening, but your son sounds like he has the strength of a lion, and a love of life. I sincerely hope that he can overcome this and enjoy life again.

MrHaroldFry · 08/04/2020 08:33

I'm very glad the 'numbers' are looking better OP. May they continue to do better every day.

Wishing you all every good wish.

Remember, we are here if you need to say things outside of your family circle.

incognitomum · 08/04/2020 10:51

Still thinking of you and praying ❤🙏

TheoneandObi · 08/04/2020 10:56

If you have the energy, tell us more about your fearless son. He sounds lovely. And you do too. But tell us more if you can xxxx

WitchDancer · 08/04/2020 11:08

Good news that there was small improvement. We're still thinking of you and virtually holding your hand 🤝

Howmanysleepsnow · 08/04/2020 12:03

That’s good to hear some positive news. Hope you get more over coming days Flowers

aloneinthenight · 08/04/2020 15:53

A difficult night again. Hopefully things can remain stabilised.

We are waiting for DS1 to receive a new type of treatment. He was supposed to have it last month but there were complications so it had to wait another month.

They have given a provisional date for a week's time. We just have to hold on until then.

It feels far far too long.

I0NA · 08/04/2020 16:04

Thanks for the update, glad to hear he’s still stable.

Have you been getting some sleep ?

incognitomum · 08/04/2020 18:28

Thank you for updating. I really hope this treatment is soon and helps.

AmelieTaylor · 08/04/2020 18:34

Yes a week sounds like forever in your situation, but on the other hand - they're planning TREATMENT that's a week away from starting! That's a far better position than you were in a couple of days ago!

Is DS awake & able to chat to you today?

1Wildheartsease · 08/04/2020 22:10

Hard to wait - but great news about the treatment.
Wishing you a better night.

MrsCalypsoGrant · 08/04/2020 22:30

Keeping everything crossed for the new treatment. I hope you get a decent night tonight. You'll all be in my thoughts x
