Wrongly accused of shoplifting and harrassment.

Ive been maliciously accused of shoplifting. By a woman in a well known news store currently undergoing a name change. This was last month on Saturday 26th July. This was followed by someone posting false accusations about me on social media Ive reported it to the police under the Malicious Communications Act AND IVE BEEN GIVEN A CRIME NUMBER It escalated on Sunday 17th August where a man ive never met before "confronted" me in another shop (supermarket corner shop) calling me a shoplifter and repeating the same shit from last month. Ive updated the police as its harassment. Ive never shoplifted in my life. Ive got piles and piles of carrier bags from this news store and have spent a lot of money there since my teens (im now in my fifties) I was ringing solicitors yesterday but havent found one to handle a case like this.

There may well be a good reason Solicitors won't handle your case - they don't think you have one

A week after the accusation she compounded the issue by posting on facebook a load of lies about me saying i go in there and shout at staff, there is loads of cctv footage of me, (which there isnt as i never did any of this stuff) and that as a mystery shopper she has caught me loads of times And the way i am with staff and the general public is disgusting. NONE of this is true so i reported this to the police under the Malicious Communications Act.

No this was WH Smith.

NOTE.........it is an offence under the Malicious Communications Act to post on social media false information or info you know is false. And she KNOWS its false because a. none of this happened b. the cctv of this DOES NOT EXIST because none of it happened, and she has peppered replies to her slanderous post with laughing emojis She finds it entertaining and funny.

well im not and why is it ok to wrongly accuse someone then slander them all over social media (while not using her real name and posting as Anonymous Participant) then having some young bloke accost me in another shop repeating the same crap. Someone must have pointed me out to him Its damn creepy.

OP, why would you need a solicitor? If the CPS has enough evidence to charge this person, they will do just that.

I updated them with the fact that i was harassed as soon as i got home on Sunday Still waiting to hear back
