I watched a few episodes of Love Island after some of my colleagues were talking about it and I thought actually this is good because it’s so mind numbing. But of course then I read this. Had a look at her Instagram, absolutely vile. A post from October 7th is still there.

Given the major issues with droughts and wildfires, its such a shame that the Greens seem to have chosen hating Jews as their main goal.

Hey everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this - but there was a thread posted on this board yesterday claiming to be from a Christian member worried about the 'situation' from 'settlers' towards Christians in israel. It was blatant sh%t stirring propaganda, and it bothered me that this appeared in our 'safe space' board.

I'm glad it was removed (it was reported), but wanted to make you all aware that inappropriate threads are popping up here.

Green party does indeed have a serious issue and they don't even understand it.

I sent the link to a friend of mine who lives on the IOW and who is one of the few in my friendship circle who both knows I am Jewish and has expressed support. She's stood for local council elections in the past.

I've seen a bit of a shift among some bits back to talking about the environment but there's also a good thread on here that has been tracking/discussing them with lots of helpful detail

So Sophus Magill wants the state of Israel to not exist, and then immediately after says Israeli citizens who were not war criminals and agreed to coexist peacefully with Palestinians have a right to live there. But if the state of Israel no longer exists, like he wants, they will no longer be citizens of it. What then?? When he says "“The only solution is one equal state" what he really means is 'No Jews allowed'. 😠

The story about the Jewish comedian being cancelled at the Edinburgh Fringe is going round again as he won the lawsuit. I keep reading all the comments on social media because I apparently hate being in a good mood. It's really, really scary.

I've come off reddit, instagram and cut back on X. Just found it all too much and the algorithms all seem to push it to the top (not necessarily the hate but also people pushing back against it) so its impossible to use them without being bombarded with upsetting news.

Yes I came off X as it's impossible to know who or what is posting and a lot is hate-filled, propaganda, or fake! I'm not on Insta or reddit but that reddit thread popped up when I search for Sophus Magill! (Who claims to be Neurospicy and a Trauma survivor.)

To my horror I found a certain Catholic priest on FB who shall remain nameless (but is quite famous in the UK for being booted out of various denominations and now lives in the US) showing a picture of himself on holiday reading (wait for it) Henry Ford's disgusting pamphlet. He seems quite obsessed with antisemitism these days. Any time he posts anything related I have a go at him as nicely as I can manage pointing out his error, but it really is awful, and of course he's not the only Christian who supports this type of propaganda. I fight back against it when I see it but it can be overwhelming.

The live demonstration of the horseshoe theory is growing pretty tiring, it would be lovely if they could all move onto soemthing else. Or, you know, pour all their energy into something positive.

Can’t believe I’ve been on mumsnet this long (over 20 years, not the same username though) and not ever thought to look for Jews! So glad to find you. Been in a pretty dark place since 10/7/23 and not that many people in real life I can talk to. Was actually googling for rosh hoshanah recipes as feeling very under inspired and that led me to ‘Jewish mumsnetters’. Glad to be here.
