I read the posts on here with interest and often the subject of anti semitism comes up. I was brought up in a town in the South East. My mum gave me a book about Anne Frank when I was around 8 and I can remember asking ' what is a Jew?' as I had never met one. When I was about 14 a girl from northern Israel came to my school and I was asked to befriend her and help her settle in. I can remember being fascinated about her life in a Kibbutz and she used to show me
Hebrew writing. I don't recall ever hearing anything anti semitic about her or her brother as the only two Jewish kids - to my knowledge in the school. I also remember in my twenties encountering a group of lads from North London - white something and them having an absolute hatred for Jewish people. I can remember feeling utterly shocked as I'd never heard anti Jewish speak prior to this. Reading some of the recent posts on here it has made me wonder wherever there are pockets in the Uk with Jewish communities that experience antisemitism where the rest of the UK it does not occur as people simply have never met a Jewish person just their life- to their knowledge.Where I live I have only met 4 Jewish people in the Uk in my life and I am 47. The most Jewish people I have met were in Israel when I visited in 2000.

The Democratic Socialists of America. They're a progressive-left group. Think Bernie Sanders et al but more tiresome with a lot of internal politics.

Given the number of celebrities criticised for wearing red hand pins because they reference this horrific crime, I'm not sure I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt anymore. And I don't see this imagery being used for any other wars. It just feels like another thing chosen because of the pain it will cause.

I am confused by the fact that I saw this report linked to by Michael Rosen who basically suggested that the inquiry was a waste of time and money. People replying to his tweet concluded that no antisemitism had been found whereas in fact the opposite was the case.

On Stop the Hates Instagram page a woman speaking outside the Israeli embassy today, Death to all Zionists, take them off our streets and workplaces, they are all murderers etc etc quite disturbed seeing this. No word on whether she was arrested, probably not.

He was clearly anti-catholic, anti-semitic, and deeply deeply disturbed. It seems to me like he was a very sick person, who latched on to whatever poisonous ideology he came across online, and that fueled his hatred and mania, and obviously anti-semitic beliefs being viral everywhere online it was one of the toxic belief sets he took in, along with other twisted ideologies.
Does that make sense?
Whenever I have come across someone with clearly twisted views (like the red pill/incel crap, extreme misogyny, extreme racism etc), I've noticed it seems to go hand in hand with antisemitism. When I look on x, if someone is spouting toxic anti-semitic crap in comments, when I go dig a little deeper, it's pretty much always a huge red flag for other toxic beliefs.
It's the canary in the coal mine theory playing out in our social media world.

Yes totally. It was absolutely heartbreaking. Fuelled by what’s in the media right now and the way Israel is portrayed. I was reminded of that American podcast on YouTube where they were openly suggesting that Hitler “probably had a reason” for what he did and even saying things like “all Jews should be killed.” The fact that people can put that kind of rhetoric out publicly is terrifying. Of course it’s going to fall on the wrong ears and then tragedy happens.
I know it’s not as simple as a straight line from A to B, but I really wish more people would wake up to how dangerous antisemitism is, and what unchecked hatred towards Jews can ultimately lead to.

I've been away and not been on the news for a bit, but of course antisemitism continues to rear it's ugly head whether we stop to notice it or not.

In a shocking incident (surprisingly reported by the BBC), faeces have been smeared on a shul with a Jewish nursery. This is apparently not the first incident, but actually the 8th such incident in the last fortnight.

I heard about the doctor as well, the good thing is that I can’t find any evidence of her actually being a practising Doctor at the moment, she seems to have made this her full time role. What a hateful person, she totally has an obsession with Jews.
I also wanted to mention Gary Lineker winning a best presenter award. The NTA’s seem pretty low rent but seriously, sacked for being antisemitic but still rewarded at the end of the day. It would be a completely different story if it had been against another community.

This is an example of how Jews can also be antisemites - this demonstration outside a Jewish school was apparently organised by a group who identify as anti-zionist Jews.

They are getting more and more sloppy with the whole "I'm not antisemitic, but..." thing they have going on. There is literally no excuse for standing outside a Jewish school protesting against Israel. It is pure antisemitism.

Latest incident in Germany involves banning Jews from a shop. Don't worry though, the owner reassures us it's nothing personal, and definitely not antisemitism, she just doesn't like us.
