Ok I have taken the bait because I think it's important we have somewhere to chat and decompress.

There is an awful lot of name changing going on and we must remember that although it should be, this is not a safe space. We are followed here and that is worth considering (especially if you don't want to be deleted)

I am grateful for all the love and support though and I thank each and every one of you. You are all stronger than you know. I wish I had something profound to say but I don't...: this will have to do!

If Giraffe has the JC radar switched on this evening, she'll be along in a minute with a nudie treat.

I keep name changing (yamuvvas's strange follower is a reminder that there are some weirdos following these threads) but I'm hopeless at remembering which name I am on which thread.
That's exactly why I did.

I think it's @YaMuvva who made me think of Truly actually (that's a compliment btw @YaMuvva )

0palfrootee · 16/05/2024 21:26

@YaMuvva you can always ask MN to delete any posts with identifying information in them. Especially as you know people are following you around. Totally shit though, isn't it.

I think I’ll have to, I’ve ever posted pictures of myself, not with my face but still it’s now making me uncomfortable

Hélène79 · 16/05/2024 21:55

In other news, apparently the Jews are still making the bad people do the bad things against them.

It's becoming a bit of a classic of the genre.

This is EXACTLY how the progroms started - telling Jewish people they are responsible for the grievances against them perpetuated by others.

Never Again

It doesn't matter how many times that's pointed out, there's always a 'yeah but'.

Did anyone see this photograph of 1940s Dublin on X this week? It really stopped me in my tracks, especially the blurring of anti-Zionism and antisemitism.

I want to share something personal.

This is a picture of my grandfather’s gramophone store on Johnson’s Court circa 1940.

Inscribed in chalk in front of the store are swastikas and the following:

‘Put the Zionists in their place’.

‘Expel the Jews’.

‘Boycott the Jews’.

Humdingerydoo · 16/05/2024 22:34

That thread is 🤢

They don't read what anyone else writes. They just skip straight over it. I wish MN would just ban the people who have made anti-Semitic comments and then refused to learn and do better.

noblegiraffe · 16/05/2024 22:40

@YaMuvva you can ask MNHQ to do a back-dated name change for you on threads too - so they could change the username on all your posts on CIME threads instead of deleting and then you could use that new name going forward.

Disturbedby · 16/05/2024 23:15

I've name changed because this is deeply outing. I was in Belfast at the weekend with colleagues and we were given a tour of some of the murals and marching areas of the troubles by an IRA member.

There were people walking round wearing Palestinian head scarves and he told us all how Ireland supports Palestine against the European colonising Israelis. I put him straight about Israel’s population but had to walk away from his diatribe. Here are some of the murals on the wall. Pro-Palestine for the Republicans and pro-Israel for the Unionists. We even went past an English pub flying the Union Jack and the Israeli flag while other areas of the city flew Palestinian and Irish flags.

I found it so disturbing. To hear this bullshit coming from the mouth of a terrorist and propagating such a ridiculous narrative. And the delight in sectarianism taken by both 'sides'.

I don't even know what to say about that @Disturbedby . It's incredibly disturbing. People seem to just want a fight so they pick a divisive cause and just go for it. Ugh.

Disturbedby · 17/05/2024 09:39

Honestly, it was appalling. The Eastern European Jews were colonising Gaza and Israel and had to be removed, according to this 'gem' of a man. When I told him about Israel's true demographics he said, 'That makes it worse'. Insinuating that indigenous Jews were behaving badly by defending their land against terrorism. He'd probably never spoken to a Jew in his life.

My Iraqi family find it quite funny that they're being told they're all of a sudden white colonisers. Like, that side of my family are 100% Iraqi going back gd knows how many generations and only left because because they weren't welcome there anymore. But no no, they're white.

I hope you're ok after your ordeal in Belfast. It's quite shocking when you actually encounter it yourself. You think you're aware just how bad the antisemitism is from reading about it but it's completely different when you actually see it with your own eyes.

Hélène79 · 17/05/2024 10:04

My DH is from NI (not Belfast). There's still a very 'pick your side' mindset among some folk there which is being expressed through the current conflict. We were there for a few days recently and I was squirming the whole time, silently pleading in my head that no one would bring up the conflict. It ended up fine and to be honest I've never really encountered any antisemitism there personally. Although my BIL's partner made some pretty iffy comments a while back, which she wouldn't have dared say even six months ago. She received the riot act anyway.

The synagogue in Rouen 😔

Humdingerydoo · 19/05/2024 10:38

Why didn't anyone stop me from getting involved in the other board again?? @stomachameleon I'm looking mainly at you - you said you'd help me stay away!! So many people who seem to admire Hamas, and others who say they don't but will then believe everything Hamas tells them. Argh! And people defending someone who was actively praising Hamas?! 😩😩😩

noblegiraffe · 19/05/2024 10:45

I am so, so sorry that this is still going on, so prolifically and with such malice.

Hélène79 · 19/05/2024 10:51

@Humdingerydoo Blimey, just caught up on that thread, which seems to have progressed somewhat. That looked really stressful. X

I've seen posts on multiple threads this weekend with posters who are one fart away from coming all-out for Hamas.

It's quite curious seeing some folks wail racism and demanding thread deletion when they're quite happy for so many threads on that board, which are full of Jew-baiting and loathing, to stand. The same (apparently) anti-racist posters you can set your watch by turning up to any thread about Jews or antisemitism, but we're supposed to believe they don't have a problem with Jewish people. They're always there, waiting in the wings - totally obsessed but know how to evade a ban by not actually saying 'I hate Jews' or similar. Minimising and denying antisemitism, speaking over and about Jews, splitting us into good Jews/bad Jews and then they're the victims because someone dared call them antisemitic and they're so sick of it. So sure they are of their own righteousness and anti-racist credentials it's almost laughable, except it's not, it's disgusting.

noblegiraffe · 19/05/2024 11:02

Talking about 'anti-racist', there's an education consultant on edutwitter with 'anti-racist' in her tag, who gives talks about racism who posted in January that 96% of the media is controlled by Jews. And when people called her out, the people calling her out were attacked as 'misogynists'. She also reposted a tweet praising Hamas fighters.

Anyway, I was pleased to see a couple of days ago someone posted that they had withdrawn from a conference they were speaking at because she was booked to speak there too. I felt really pleased that someone was standing up in that way.

Then yesterday someone, also an 'anti-racist', posted in her defence a long paragraph naming Jews who 'control the media'. Except it was crap from the start because it said Rupert Murdoch is Jewish, which he isn't.

And instead of calling it out, more wagon-circling.

Left-wing antisemitism from people who praise themselves smugly for not being racist is so shit. They are so sure that they're the good guys that they are not willing to do any sort of self-reflection when someone points out that they're falling for conspiracy theories.

Comedycook · 19/05/2024 11:04

The left wing wouldn't be so anti semetic if Jewish people weren't white....

Disclaimer....I know not all Jewish people are white but thats how we are broadly viewed by them.

Yes, I remember her - do you have an X link to the person who withdrew?

noblegiraffe · 19/05/2024 11:14

Here, it's Donal Hale who I wasn't previously aware of. https://x.com/haledonal?s=21&t=U9XrcF693-JpMxeIueYG7g

If you look through his timeline you'll see people posting supporting this stance against antisemitism. 💪

Hélène79 · 19/05/2024 11:17

Thanks!

Humdingerydoo · 19/05/2024 11:17

And now I'm apparently antisemitic 😩😩😩😩😂😂😂😂

Hélène79 · 19/05/2024 11:24

@Humdingerydoo Bloody hell, sounds like a spokesperson for the Neturei Karta.
