Ok I have taken the bait because I think it's important we have somewhere to chat and decompress.

There is an awful lot of name changing going on and we must remember that although it should be, this is not a safe space. We are followed here and that is worth considering (especially if you don't want to be deleted)

I am grateful for all the love and support though and I thank each and every one of you. You are all stronger than you know. I wish I had something profound to say but I don't...: this will have to do!

@YaMuvva , unfortunately it's nothing new that there are lurkers with bad intentions on here. I'm assuming they'll be reporting your comment soon, getting it deleted. It wouldn't be the first time. I'm sorry they're coming after you now, specially with everything you currently have going on.

It's not the first time this week that's happened so maybe report her. We can't actively stop people lurking and if that's the sad way they want to spend their time then more fool them. Especially when they (either explicitly or sort of) admit it, which makes them look utterly, utterly ridiculous.😂

Yeah, I thought it was weird when a thread about Islamophobia popped up in active a few weeks ago. Didn't realise what board it was on at first, mostly because I didn't even realise there was one for Muslim Mumsnetters!

I'm glad this isn't in active or else it would inevitably end up as an extension of the CITME board.

Regardless of the actual story, I wince every time I see that guy's name mentioned. He's been posting Islamophobic rhetoric since the Corbyn years.

I only heard about him for the first time the other day and I was not exactly impressed with what I heard 🙈

I've heard about the numbers changing drastically from other sources though. Obviously that's been downplayed on the other board and I was also originally told off for even daring to mention it 😅 Very insensitive of me. Facts aren't everyone's cup of tea, I suppose

And I'm sorry @YaMuvva for butting in on the other thread. I know you were holding your own but it just pissed me off. I'm in quite a mood today so probably best if I just stick to this board for now!

Edited to say that I just realised how that sounds really quite attention-seeking! I'm only in a mood because of hay fever and the fact my husband won't let me comfort eat more chocolate hobnobs, even though I don't actually like them.

It's nice this board is a bit lively again. Wonder how Truly is. She was amazing but just disappeared.

On a different note - I had a chat with my (1/4 Jewish) teens earlier about antisemitism and Israel and the war in Gaza. They've never met any actual Jewish relatives as that side of the family was small and they're all dead now. I was really touched by how genuinely interested they were. They wanted to know what Zionism is - they never ask me anything like that!

We talked about how we can just go about our lives and no-one knows our heritage unless we tell them, and I said that people who are obviously Jewish for whatever reason (eg where they live, what they wear) are facing all kinds of horrible abuse. I said even though we're not completely Jewish, those are our people and we should be deeply worried about attacks against them, and they nodded along sagely - honestly I was so touched. They're a bit grumpy but lovely and wise at heart ❤️

I wish I had NC’d when I post on Jewish topics. That’s awful isn’t it but apparently I am being watched and in my own posts I’ve posted a lot of identifying information and I’m now a bit worried
