Seriously. Is it the same few people just name changing or is it really this toxic in the UK? There is so much poisonous Jewish hatred on here. I'm not talking hatred of Israel, just vile antisemitism on so many posts now.

I truly think I have to step away before I lose faith in humanity. Why does MN seem to attract so many hateful posters? Maybe it's the anonymity.

I can't keep calling it out. Im exhausted and actually deeply disturbed by it now.

My grandmother's sister who was very old and living in her apartment in the area with the help of carers actually got lost for a few days because she was taken somewhere else for safety.

It was all a very worrying and confusing time that's for sure. I can't imagine being in new york myself when that happened. It must have been horrific. So sorry you went through that.

It was pretty horrific. The WTC fires were a funeral pyre for the people who died in the collapse, and that smell lingered for weeks, too.

In retrospect, I'm proud of the way NY'ers handled it. The police and firefighters were incredibly brave and saved thousands of lives. There was no panic, looting, or mass exodus from the city. We just got on with it.

If you ever visit NYC, spend half a day at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. You'll never forget it. We waited until the kids were teenagers to take them, and I'm glad we did.
