BFP after IVF: 2025

Xwx1010 · 24/03/2025 18:31

Wondering if anyone else has had a BFN after IVF in the past few months? Guessing if so, most would be due October / November / December.

I just can’t get into the due month groups on the main pregnancy page as my headspace is so different after struggling with infertility back to back losses and IVF.

I’m 7weeks after 5AA transfer in February and have had 1 MMC and 2 ectopics. Due date is 11th November (if I make it that far). No children.

If anyone wants to join this thread please do! 💚

Mine is a raspberry today. Although looking at the raspberries and grapes I have in the fridge I’m not sure that either fruit is consistently sized enough to use as a unit of measurement 😂

captainsmal · 16/04/2025 08:11

@PrincessofLiechtenstein thats what me and DH said 😅

Xwx1010 · 16/04/2025 11:05

Morning all

Can’t quite believe it again but baby is ok, measuring on track (10+1) with heartbeat but I do have a big subchorionic hematoma adjacent to the sac. It’s solidifying apparently so that will explain the brown bleeding this weekend and the big red one a few weeks bag.
Even though it’s big they didn’t seem worried as sac is bigger and it’s not above the sac or causing any pressure. It should make its way out or reabsorb but having consultant lead care not midwife.
baby was waving and wriggling away.
Just so relieved I have a reason for the bleeding now so I can try to rationalise.
burst into tears when she said it was all
ok 🥺

That’s really positive news. How are you feeling?

Xwx1010 · 16/04/2025 11:26

@LincolnshireHollyhock so relieved. Even though the bleed isn’t great and it’s quite big I have a reason now, so I can breathe. Literally can feel the panic sliding off me which is amazing. I know I’m not out the woods but seeing baby wriggling and waving absolutely fine has really helped xx

how is everyone else doing? Do we have anymore scans this week? Xx

Oh hooray @Xwx1010I'm so happy for you. Really great news. I hope the haematoma resolves now and things continue to go well.

When is your next scan? Do you have another one at 12 weeks?

OneWaryCat · 16/04/2025 13:59

That is great news @Xwx1010! Such a relief for you and so wonderful when you see them wiggling about like that. Xx

VeryConfuzzled · 16/04/2025 14:51

@Charmofgoldfinch Hope you’re doing ok 💐. Will you be discharged soon?

@Xwx1010 That sounds like great news so far 🥳. It must be such a relief to receive such reassurance. Hopefully the subchorionic hematoma fully resolves.

@PrincessofLiechtenstein I haven’t really been checking tbh so I did lose track until I literally checked just now. I’ll be just over 7 weeks for the scan. Glad that your scan went smoothly and hopefully the next scan will be just as great as well.

@Ngall24, @LincolnshireHollyhock and @captainsmal Best of luck with your upcoming scans this month. I’m sure it will be fine.

@spttc, @BellaRosex and @FlowersRainbow Hope you’re all doing ok.

BellaRosex · 16/04/2025 14:54

@Xwx1010 I'm so happy for you! What a massive relief! I read somewhere that those haematomas are common enough in IVF pregnancies. Hopefully it just gets reabsorbed soon!

I'm officially 11 weeks and 6 days. I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow and have my scan a day later on Friday. Very anxious, couldn't sleep last night worrying!

captainsmal · 16/04/2025 15:36

@Xwx1010 thats really good about your scan! Hopefully you can relax a bit now

I’m 7wks today and just got all my midwife appointments through with the nhs, I know the clinic won’t sign me off til tomorrow after the scan but they said it was okay to do the referral for a midwife etc while I waited. So I’ve now got scan tomorrow, midwife at 9wks and 10wks and then I’ll get a 12wk scan slot given to me at the 10wk midwives appointment

Xwx1010 · 16/04/2025 16:13

Thank you all so much for your kind words I’m so so relieved and can’t believe I’m actually at 10w!

my 12 week scan is week 13 which isn’t ideal as they wanted to check my SCH but they don’t have anything else the week before because of the bank holidays 🙃

im going to get the private nipt as I don’t fancy being 14w and then being told I need more tests / worrying and waiting another week or so to find out. ’ll just get it done next week and then I know sooner rather than later. I’m 38 so expecting at least a higher result for Down’s syndrome.

I have everything crossed for your scan tomorrow @captainsmal and you too @BellaRosex on Friday.

does anyone else have any this week (I try and keep track but everything moves so quickly!)

how’s everyone coping with their symptoms?
my nausea is on and off but food aversions still in full flow.

xx

Ps yes they said because there’s so much going on in ivf treatment you are more likely to have a SCH and they are quite common xx

I am really hoping this has been my issue. I think we have been fairly similar symptoms? A sudden painless gush of blood that turned to brown discharge? and some on and off spotting?

captainsmal · 16/04/2025 16:38

I heard they’re really common with Ivf as well but not had one myself, didn’t even get implantation spotting tbh which my clinic said I might do lol

Symptoms for me now at 7wks I’ve got bad nausea sometimes but not actually been sick yet, just burping a lot. And really really sore boobs! I’ve still got some twinges etc and the lightning crotch which I get during periods anyway so was used to 😅 but also had lightning nipple a couple of times now which was a new one for me! And soooo constipated all the time and so bloated I look about 6 months already! Everyone keeps saying twins cos my stomach is so big already but I think it’s legit all wind etc 🙄

Yes pretty much that. I’ve had about 5 instances of spotting but one was more of a slow red bleed that lasted 12 hours. Worse when I’ve had pressure from my bowels (which again she said is when it can be forced out or ‘burst’.
Nothing seen at 6 or 8 week scan, but 10 weeks is unmissable and really quite big.

@captainsmal no implantation spotting for me either but they said that the implantation bleeding can amalgamate for a while and then all or a sudden show up as a ‘bruise’ which starts to work its way out in the form of spotting.

my spotting has been weekly from 6 weeks, mix of pink / brown / red. Starting of watery but as it dries it can solidify and mix with cervical mucus as it passes out making it look more stringy or jelly like (sorry if that’s tmi) just trying to save anyone from panic if it happens to them in the coming weeks. I was having this conversation today with my partner. Did you pick what midwife you wanted to be under? Self referral or GP?

My clinic told me to wait but I want to be as prepared as possible.

captainsmal · 16/04/2025 17:49

@LincolnshireHollyhock I just did the nhs website self referral cos it needs to be done by 10 weeks anyway and then that was last week and they sent me an email with appointments with my local midwife today. I asked the clinic because of my pre-existing health conditions I feel like I want to get seen by the midwife or GP etc asap rather than later

That makes sense. How long did it take for them to come back to you?

Good luck for tomorrow by the way.

captainsmal · 16/04/2025 18:23

@LincolnshireHollyhock exactly a week I think, I’m sure I did it last Wednesday but might have even been Thursday. Thanks, I’m both excited to hopefully see my baby but 💩ing myself with nerves 😬😬

Xwx1010 · 16/04/2025 18:55

@captainsmal lots of burping, constipation and twinges for me too, taking fybrogel everyday now to try and help x

OP posts:
captainsmal · 16/04/2025 18:57

@Xwx1010 I have some fybogel at home but I’m avoiding as much as poss because the texture is 🤮 lol

Good luck today @captainsmalwhat time is your scan?

captainsmal · 17/04/2025 09:11

@PrincessofLiechtenstein thanks! It’s at 12.15 but I’m leaving at 10 because it’s a couple of hours drive to our clinic 😬😬 so nervous 😩

LincolnshireHollyhock · 17/04/2025 09:17

Charmofgoldfinch · 15/04/2025 19:10

thanks @LincolnshireHollyhock - how are you?
i don’t have any symptoms but the only clue that I had that I might be pregnant was that my OHSS worsened since embryo transfer and now I’m in hospital under observation - it’s been a weird day! I was admitted to hospital and then got the call from the clinic telling me I was pregnant whilst I was trying to eat my hospital lunch 🙈 not the scenario I had planned to find out I was pregnant! it’s reassuring knowing that I’m being looked after and monitored though.
@captainsmal - good to see you on here. Is that your 6 week scan?
@PrincessofLiechtenstein - good to see you on here too - nice to see some familiar names from the previous thread (as well as new names)

Yeh doing okay - feel bloated all the time, boobs/nipples are super sore and I keep needing a wee in the night!

I’m 7 weeks on Sunday!

have you been discharged from hospital? Hope you are okay xx

captainsmal · 17/04/2025 09:28

@LincolnshireHollyhock omg I’m the same with the night wees! 3am bang on every night down to the minute 😅
