BFP after IVF: 2025

Wondering if anyone else has had a BFN after IVF in the past few months? Guessing if so, most would be due October / November / December.

I just can’t get into the due month groups on the main pregnancy page as my headspace is so different after struggling with infertility back to back losses and IVF.

I’m 7weeks after 5AA transfer in February and have had 1 MMC and 2 ectopics. Due date is 11th November (if I make it that far). No children.

Glad your scan was ok and you sorted your midwife appointment out @Ivf4203. I agree though I have found them pretty underwhelming so far. I did think the last one could have been a phone call but I guess they need to do your blood pressure.

We had a private scan at the weekend and it’s a boy! Exciting but I had totally convinced myself it was a girl with nub theory so DH is now gloating as he maintained it was a load of rubbish 😂. Time to start thinking about names.

@captainsmal I think you have a scan coming up this week. Hope it all goes ok. How have you been feeling?

yeah I have the foetal medicine Thursday to make sure it’s growing properly and I’m so nervous 😭 and I had to change my gender scan cos you’re not allowed two within a week so now it’s 27th instead of the 20th so next week I’ll find out what mine is! Kinda gutted but obviously the nhs one is more important. I just really hope it’s bigger than last time. My bump definitely is so I’m hoping that means the baby has had a growth spurt!

@captainsmalIt must be really scary. How far behind were you? I really hope they have caught up. Over the scans I’ve had the baby did go from a couple of days behind to four days ahead and now measuring about on time again so I do think they grow in fits and starts.

Shame you had to move your other scan but they might let you know the sex this week anyway if they can see.

@PrincessofLiechtenstein so first two scans 1 day behind, now 3 days behind but they said it wasn’t to do as much with the days but it’s the progress of the curve on the graph as it’s now in the 3rd percentile? So on the chart they gave me it looks like it’s taken a dip basically. To be honest I didn’t really get it when they tried explaining it lol. They did say having an 11wk scan may have just messed up my curve because normally people wouldn’t have had so many scans by 13wks! So 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’m also moving house in like 12 days so I’m just insanely busy at the moment so it’s all a bit stressful. Hopefully baby is fine Thursday and that’s one big thing less to worry about!

my 20 week is Monday so just holding on until then… no movements here but suppose to be expected with anterior placenta. No more bleeding since week 15 either so fingers crossed all ok.
bump wise still looking like I’ve just had my Christmas roast! X

@LincolnshireHollyhockI have my 12 week scan tomorrow. I have been a right grump today I think it’s just me being anxious about it though haha.

@LincolnshireHollyhock good luck tomorrow, I have a 16 week scan also!
I had the 16 week midwife today and she used the Doppler and let me take a video of the baby’s heartbeat which was really strong and lovely and made me way less nervous about the growth scan tomorrow!

@Xwx1010 wow 20 weeks already, that’s going quickly! I think you’re right about the anterior placenta so I wouldn’t worry too much about movements yet. I think they say anything up to 24 weeks?

I have barely any symptoms these days except killer boobs and some stretchy type pains sometimes. I have had a few odd fluttery things once every few days that could apparently be movements according to the midwife but it’s too early to tell properly. I have a posterior placenta so I think it’s more common. I feel enormous already though, I look way further along than 16 weeks tbh! My sister said it’s probably because I’m quite short 😅 I’m wondering if I might “accidentally” find out gender tomorrow during the growth scan. It’s me and my parents going this time and we have the private one booked next week so if they do let it slip we’ll have to keep it secret for a week so it’s a surprise on the day for my husband and his parents! 😂

Mine was the 16 week midwife appointment and not the scan!

We heard the baby heartbeat which was lovely and discussed the ever challenging hayfever!! (Anyone else suffering from a blocked nose??)

All starting to feel very real!

My foetal medicine appointment went really well, she basically did whatever they check at the 20wk anomaly scan today and it was all perfect and healthy so I guess I don’t need to be nervous about that one next month now!
The baby has gone from 3rd percentile to 26th percentile in size apparently so it’s obviously had a growth spurt and there’s nothing to worry about, so been referred back to normal midwife/regular nhs now 😊 such a relief! They didn’t check the genitals today so I didn’t see the gender which is a good thing tbh so now I can just find out the same time as my husband next week 😍

Had my 20w today, most things seen and baby ok - but baby position was awkward so have to go back to have the spine checked. Weight was 318g which puts them about 60th percentile I think.. but the head was small, we were being referred to consultant but she remeasured and said we were 10th percentile for head so not required now.
Ive also got a low lying placenta 🫣 1.7cm and they want it to be 2cm but apparently 90+% of low lying placentas move up in time so fingers crossed.
feeling abit mixed about it; hoping it’s just a case of we have a family of small heads and baby is fine. At least we get another scan in a few weeks. Xx

Congratulations @Xwx1010 on your big milestone! Nothing sounds concerning from what you've said so take comfort from that and hopefully you'll get further reassurance at your next scan!

@Xwx1010 try not to worry (harder than it sounds I know!) they really worried me about my percentiles last time and then it turned out to be fine! Like you say might just be a small head lol, I know what that’s like I have a tiny head compared to my siblings! I also got told my placenta is slightly over “the birth canal” but it’ll move up by the end so that should be fine too 🤞🏻

at least you get an extra scan and chance to see baby (this is what I told myself when we had to go for foetal medicine etc)

must feel so crazy to be at 20wks already though right!! I feel like mines going so quickly too

thank you both for the reassurance! Fingers crossed all will be ok with next one! I think the sonographer wanted to finish for the day (saw her leaving after me) was surprised she didn’t tell me to leave take a quick walk/fizzy drink so she could try spine again!

@captainsmal just had my NIPT result today and all low risk so I’m feeling very grateful. Also got to know the gender as part of the report! I have my 12 week scan next week. How exciting for you tomorrow 💙 🩷

@Xwx1010 sorry you were feeling mixed about your last scan, hopefully at the next scan you’ll be more reassured. It sounds like they are just being extra cautious which is a good thing I think. Hope the next few weeks until the next scan do not drag out too much x

@Ivf4203 that’s cool did you do the blood test one? I don’t really know much about how those work tbh lol 😂

@captainsmal yes it’s just a blood test! My midwife said the NHS will do an NIPT if my combined screening test next week is high risk because NIPT is more accurate. Do you have any inkling about the gender? I must say the Ramzi theory (and level of hcg: online theory predicta boy if low normal hcg and girl if strong hcg from the very beginning) was accurate for us! Haha
