BFP after IVF: 2025

Xwx1010 · 24/03/2025 18:31

Wondering if anyone else has had a BFN after IVF in the past few months? Guessing if so, most would be due October / November / December.

I just can’t get into the due month groups on the main pregnancy page as my headspace is so different after struggling with infertility back to back losses and IVF.

I’m 7weeks after 5AA transfer in February and have had 1 MMC and 2 ectopics. Due date is 11th November (if I make it that far). No children.

If anyone wants to join this thread please do! 💚

So sorry VC, please take it easy on yourself 🥲

BellaRosex · 25/05/2025 17:14

So sorry VC. Thinking of you x

VeryConfuzzled · 26/05/2025 02:38

Thanks everyone. I do appreciate it 💐. I don’t remember the full details because I guess stopped listening without realising, but DH has told me that the doctor did confirm that the growth stopped at 9 and a half weeks. I thought it was on the date of my previous scan for some reason.

Ivf4203 · 27/05/2025 10:16

Hi guys. I just had my scan and measuring 3 days behind at 6+5 (supposedly 7+1 today). Heart rate is 119. The sonographer said this is acceptable. Waiting for the nurse now. A bit worried… anyone else had something similar?

Xwx1010 · 27/05/2025 10:32

Baby so tiny at this point just a mm can push your dates out, I wouldn’t be overly worried about that. I’ve never been given speed of heart-rate so not sure what’s usual.. good luck hope all is ok. Let us know what you get on if you can x

@Ivf4203 at my 7+1 scan I measured one day behind and heart rate was 108 I think. Yours sounds fine, they’re so tiny at this point the measurements can be slightly out. At my 11+3 scan I was also still one day behind so I believe I implanted slightly late

Ivf4203 · 27/05/2025 12:36

Thanks @Xwx1010 and @captainsmal . The nurse said it’s fine, baby is very tiny at this point so there is a margin of error and it is also a possibility that the embryo did not immediately implant after transfer. She also said anything above 100 heart rate is good. I will continue progesterone until 12 weeks. I might do another scan before the nhs one but not with my ivf clinic as they’re so expensive (£225 per scan!!). Also considering nipt. Thank you ladies you’ve been so supportive. None of my friends know so grateful to be a part of this thread.

Xwx1010 · 27/05/2025 12:43

@Ivf4203 great, that’s reassuring!! I’d probably also have another scan maybe week 9w for my own peace of mind. Maybe hold of on nipt to week 10/11/12 when you’ve had some more reassurance as they are no cheap either x

@Ivf4203when I had my 7 week scan I was 2 days behind and the heart beat was 130. The nurse said they like to see anything over 110. She also said it’s mm at the moment so wasn’t at all worried about being behind. Just has a scan yesterday at 9+1 for reassure plus I also got some brown spotting all day yesterday so waking up to that was a bit scary but has the scan booked. Anyways the baby was measuring 9+1 so was the exact size it should be. Didn’t mention a heat beat speed though I could only
see it. They did manage to do it on my belly which was nice.
Sounds all positive for you though!!

Cur1ousk1tty · 28/05/2025 07:32

Congrats!! Im 6 days post fet. Mild cramping but the test is still negative. It was a 5cc grade. No fertility concerns identified for me yet, but my husbands has a gene so went through the PGT-A route. Any positive stories on if i should just accept the FET didnt stick or there could be a positive result later?

Ivf4203 · 28/05/2025 09:31

@Alexm06 thank you so much for sharing. I actually didn’t sleep well last night because I was doubting what the nurse said (I know, very silly…) and scouring the whole of internet for heart beats and measurements at 7 weeks. I already booked another scan at 9 weeks also and fighting the urge to reschedule it to next week!! Has the spotting gone? So pleased you’re measuring on track now x

@Xwx1010 that’s exactly the plan… scan at 9 weeks then maybe nipt at 10. I really hope I get there xxx

Ivf4203 · 28/05/2025 09:52

@Cur1ousk1tty hi - so for me I had a very very faint/barely there/ no one else could see second line on day 6 but it was exactly the same on a previous IVF cycle which failed therefore I thought it’s just the trigger (could still be). Lots of people say it’s quite definitive on day 7 but i didn’t test again until day 9 which is my official test day. Good luck.

Ivf4203 · 28/05/2025 10:39

@captainsmal sorry forgot to ask did they recheck the heart beat at your succeeding scan? X

captainsmal · 28/05/2025 13:45

@Ivf4203 my next scan was with the early pregnancy unit cos I bled a bit, they didn’t tell me the rate but they did say look there’s the heartbeat etc

Ivf4203 · 28/05/2025 15:22

@captainsmal It looks like it’s quite common for other clinics not to measure the heart rate at the early weeks so that’s reassuring in a way to me! Thank you.

Does anyone know much about listeria? So I was just having a cream eclair with todays date on my lunch break at work a couple of hours ago, got halfway through and realised it had green spots of mould in the cream 🤮 I haven’t had any stomach problems yet luckily so hopefully I’m fine but then I read listeria can take weeks to show up 😭 is it worth emailing my midwife tomorrow about it or am I being really overly concerned here? Just worry as it’s dairy. Lol

Xwx1010 · 28/05/2025 21:53

@captainsmal listeria doesn’t cause mould, two separate things but I’d prob speak to midwife just because listeria can grow in the same conditions. It’s very unlikely and they will prob just tell you to keep an eye out for symptoms.
I didn’t know it can take weeks to show up!

OP posts:
captainsmal · 28/05/2025 22:01

@Xwx1010 thats good to know, I panicked cos of it being dairy/cream! I might mention it but I’ve not even had a bad stomach from it so hopefully I didn’t eat much.
so ironic as mine and also DH literal job is to be the ones who go around putting yellow stickers on the food in the supermarket! So we saw it todays date and got some ourselves for lunch so not sure why it had mould tbh as it was in date. I reckon it must have been left out of fridge then a staff member or customers put it back rather than putting in the bin 🙄 He ate two of them and been fine too lol
Yeah in my panicked Google it says can be weeks later and also with no symptoms so you might not know you’ve had it, I guess most people would never know but we have lower immune systems when pregnant lol

Xwx1010 · 28/05/2025 22:07

Argh it’s just bad luck - as you say it’s probably has just been left out the fridge for a little bit! Least you didn’t eat much, partner maybe in for a few toilet trips mind 😂 @captainsmal

OP posts:
captainsmal · 28/05/2025 22:10

@Xwx1010 tbf his were from a different pack so he might be fine 😂 we got two packs of them. My first one was fine and didn’t see anything but then noticed an odd smell on the second eclair! Serves me right for being greedy and eating two I guess 😅

Ivf4203 · 29/05/2025 12:43

Hi @captainsmal how are you feeling? I hope all well and that you didn’t consume much or any of the mouldy eclair.

captainsmal · 29/05/2025 13:42

@Ivf4203 didnt have any problems with it in the end! Although I would say I’d been really constipated for a few days and today it’s better so whether that’s due to it or not but I definitely don’t have an upset stomach or anything lol 😂

Ivf4203 · 29/05/2025 15:01

@captainsmal must have done you good if anything haha! Good to know you don’t have upset stomach- you’ll be absolutely fine if you’re not feeling anything unusual by now gut-wise!

captainsmal · 29/05/2025 15:12

@Ivf4203 yeah that’s what I’m thinking! I’ll mention it at my next midwife but I don’t think I’ll call today as like an emergency or anything now

captainsmal · 30/05/2025 17:45

Hey everyone,
had my dating scan today! Bit of a mixed bag! So baby wasn’t behaving and was fast asleep curled up facing my spine so took ages and had to do jumps, roll around etc to wake baby up and make them move. Finally got it rolled over for their checks but it literally yawned stretched then curled back up so she really struggled to measure size! Eventually she got one which was 3 days behind which I’m not concerned at this point
but (and this is where I’m now stressing) I have to be referred to foetal medicine as baby is in the 3rd percentile?
they said it could be just because we couldn’t get baby to move and stretch out properly, or it could also be where I had the 11wk scan at the epu it’s now messed my graph up as usually there’s bigger gaps between scans? So they said don’t be too alarmed or concerned but of course now I’m worrying 😭
anyone else had this? My mum had small babies, my brother and sister were both 6 pound something and I was 7’13 so she said maybe I just take after her and make small babies 🤷🏼‍♀️
apart from the size heartbeat was strong, all body parts were there and in proportion etc, looks all healthy, waiting for my blood results but think it’s low risk for downs and the other one they check for, so essentially a healthy active baby just small hopefully!
got another scan in 3 weeks privately for gender so at least I can have that for reassurance but this foetal medicine person might get me in more often now to check growth
