BFP after IVF: 2025

Wondering if anyone else has had a BFN after IVF in the past few months? Guessing if so, most would be due October / November / December.

I just can’t get into the due month groups on the main pregnancy page as my headspace is so different after struggling with infertility back to back losses and IVF.

I’m 7weeks after 5AA transfer in February and have had 1 MMC and 2 ectopics. Due date is 11th November (if I make it that far). No children.

@PrincessofLiechtenstein @Xwx1010 thank you - will discuss with husband and decide. Clinic said we can do either and just up to us. They said 6+3 is the earliest they’ll do though.
@BellaRosex i’ve never been pregnant before now so unable to provide advice from personal experience but I’ve read in many forums that symptoms come and go throughout pregnancy. I know it’s difficult not to worry though given your history. I think I’ve read you booked a reassurance scan at 15 weeks, how many days do you have to wait for that? I hope not too long and that baby is well and good!

Hi all! I hope you don’t mind me jumping in here. I’m currently 7+1 today so a little bit behind you guys. But I had my 7 week scan yesterday where I finally saw a baby with a heartbeat for the first time ever!
I’ve have 1 ectopic, 2 missed miscarriages with empty sacs and a chemical. It still doesn’t feel real and I still feel a bit guarded as I still feel like things can go wrong. How have you guys found the waiting? Have you had any extra scans after the first one?

The only symptoms I’ve got is a super sensitive smell, occasional mood swings and if I get hungry I feel a bit weird.. it’s all a bit crazy this being pregnant business!

Hi @Alexm06welcome. So pleased you saw your baby at the scan this week. It’s really special isn’t it. I know what you mean about trusting it though. Although I am feeling better now I’ve got past 12 weeks and the screening.

The waiting was awful. I had two scans at 7/8weeks. One at EPU because of bleeding, then my scheduled IVF scan a few days later. They kindly booked me in again at 10 weeks to make sure baby was ok after the bleed, but I was planning a private 10 week scan before they offered that.

I then had my 12 week this week. Thinking I’ll probably get a 16week private scan but see how it goes.

I think get an extra one if you need to. Or the hospital might offer it with your history?

@PrincessofLiechtensteinyeah I’m hoping after the 12 week scan I’ll relax a little more but that’s 5 weeks away haha.
Yeah I was thinking about booking a private one between now and the 19th June. I did wonder once I have my midwife appointment next Saturday if they would offer me a free one with my history.
I feel like I will want to get a scan like every 3 weeks haha.

Hi all, did anyone use the clearblue with weeks indicator during early weeks of pregnancy? I’m 5+4 today and got a 2-3 result this morning. I was hoping to get 3+. My last hcg lab reading was 1315 on Monday, and if it was doubling every 48-72 hrs it should have been above 2700 today which apparently is the threshold to get 3+ on clearblue. I know these tests are not 100% accurate but equally I read so many stories of pregnant women who were stuck at 2-3 and it didn’t end well for them. I was hoping for some reassurance from it until I get to scan day but I got exactly the opposite! :(

Morning ladies- I’m 11+2 today and I’ve had a few mild twinges this morning, just went to the toilet and had some red spotting when I wiped?
I did have intercourse yesterday so maybe it’s just that but I’m freaking out 😭
this is the first spotting I’ve had the whole pregnancy

Aww @captainsmal - try to stay calm. It is probably normal as the veins in the cervix are more fragile but I’d give your midwife a ring and see what they say?

@Ivf4203 - I’ve never done a clear blue test but I would say your HCG test will be more accurate than off the shelf kits, so unless you have had some worrying symptoms then perhaps just assume everything is as it should be and baby is well. I know that’s not easy - but I found continual testing didn’t help my anxiety as I would get worked up prior to taking a test and whilst it was developing. When’s your scan?

I was also going to ask - has anyone else’s midwife put you as high risk and needing consultant led care purely due to IVF? My NHS trust does (I have also had the LLETZ treatment for abnormal cervical cells so also am high risk due to that). But that contradicts with my clinic (also NHS) saying they regard IVF/ ICSI pregs as no higher risk than natural conception. I’m not fussed - im glad to get extra care and extra monitoring (and maybe scans!) but I’ve been pondering it. I’m going for 9 week scan at clinic next week so will ask them.

@Charmofgoldfinch I rang the EPU and they said put a panty liner in to be able to measure how much comes out and then the nurse is calling me this afternoon. I’m laying down in bed trying to rest a bit but I do have some mild cramps and stuff now so I’m trying not to panic 😭

So sorry @captainsmal any blood is so distressing. Push for a scan in epu. It’s the only way you’ll know what’s going on. I really hope it’s just a bit of cervical irritation. How much spotting are you getting?

@PrincessofLiechtenstein I’ve not had any since this morning and the panty liner is still clear so I’m hoping it was just my cervix from yesterday! It was like a pink smear on the toilet paper mixed with clear discharge and then one or two actual drops of bright red. But nothing since 🤞🏻🤞🏻 still waiting for nurse to call me this afternoon apparently she had consults all morning
DH was at work but he’s coming home now just to be closer in case they want me to come in or anything, I don’t drive so his Mum will hopefully be able to take us if we have to go anywhere

Hopefully it’s ok then. If it’s stopped that’s a really good sign. Hope you are doing ok. Let us know what the nurse says xx

I am not sure these tests are accurate enough to rely on. The concentration of HCG in your urine can really vary. You’ve had blood tests which are way more accurate and are looking good.

Try and wait a few days and test again. I know it’s really hard though.

@PrincessofLiechtenstein yeah hopefully nothing to worry about. I’ve got some mild period pain type cramps but I’ve had those on and off the whole 11 weeks so far anyway. Nurse said probably nothing to worry about but they’ve booked me in for a scan 9am tomorrow. Bed rest and no more sex etc until after we get checked out!

@Charmofgoldfinch @PrincessofLiechtenstein thank you and fingers crossed my hcg is actually continuing to double in the background. I will update after my scan. So, so, so nervous but just repeating to myself that ‘Today i’m pregnant’ and I cannot control the future regardless of the worrying I do.

@captainsmal good to hear there’s no further bleeding and you’re booked for a scan tomorrow. Hopefully it was just a minor irritation on your cervix.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the reassurance yesterday 😮‍💨 Had the scan this morning and everything is totally fine! Baby was kicking it’s little legs around like crazy 😂 measuring one day behind which is the same as last time but she said brain looks good, fluid on back of spine good, strong heartbeat and arms and legs wiggling around! 😍 So relieved!
she said I probably just irritated my cervix or something but there’s nothing internally to say why I had blood, no hemotoma or anything like that so was probably more external/in my vagina. Cervix looked good and closed!
Made me feel way less nervous for my actual dating scan now which is in 13 days as she basically did all the checks they do for that one anyway! And we got pics and everything which was lovely 🥰

@Charmofgoldfinch I know they were great ! I felt silly going in for such a small amount of blood tbh but I would’ve gone crazy waiting two more weeks for the dating scan if I hadn’t!

@PrincessofLiechtenstein was so good! Obviously last time at 7wks it looked like a jellybean so it was so cool seeing it look more like an actual baby! Wiggling around 😍 my sister is convinced it’s a boy by the shape of the skull apparently?! Only a month til we can see if she’s right 😅

anyone else got scans this week? Has anyone got a bump yet? I think I can feel a little something starting now, my knickers feel really tight around the top and it feels like the skin has gone a bit harder there 😬

Hiya, our 12 week scan is Wednesday! I’m excited and anxious all in the same breathe.

I feel like I have a bump in the evening and it’s gone by the morning.. or it could be just where I’m eating like a Labrador 🙃🙃
