BFP after IVF: 2025

Xwx1010 · 24/03/2025 18:31

Wondering if anyone else has had a BFN after IVF in the past few months? Guessing if so, most would be due October / November / December.

I just can’t get into the due month groups on the main pregnancy page as my headspace is so different after struggling with infertility back to back losses and IVF.

I’m 7weeks after 5AA transfer in February and have had 1 MMC and 2 ectopics. Due date is 11th November (if I make it that far). No children.

If anyone wants to join this thread please do! 💚

@Phoenix87 thinking of you today x

@PrincessofLiechtenstein that’s really lovely and I’m so glad you’ve been able to relax abit. I felt the same after my 10wk. I’m 12 weeks tomorrow can’t believe it . Next scan in Wednesday morning. Feeling more hopeful but also waiting for the bad news to hit at some point.

@captainsmal ive been kept on mine but I think it’s because of the SCH, otherwise I would have been due to stop this week at 12w. I think progesterone relaxes the muscles so I’d say it’s normal to feel the cramping a little more. I’m really fed up of taking it though I feel so bloated and uncomfortable after. Always waking up in the night with the trapped wind etc, be glad to get off them but totally relate they are a safety blanket.
good luck with the midwife tomorrow.

hope everyone else is doing ok, anyone else for scans/booking appointments this week?

@Xwx1010 wow 12 weeks already! Bet you can’t wait for the next scan! Yeah I read it can be normal coming off them and the placenta should be making progesterone by now I think, also might just be cramps from the baby growing as 8-9 weeks it has a massive growth spurt and doubles in size apparently! Just a bit paranoid about it and I have no clue what to expect from anything with it being my first pregnancy lol. Omg the wind and bloating can totally relate! I had someone at work the other day say “oh your bump looks really big now I can really tell you’re pregnant now!” I was like wtf I’m 8 weeks it’s not a bump I’m just fat/bloated 😂

Xwx1010 · 28/04/2025 12:53

Yeah it’s a bowel bloat for me 😂😂😂 @captainsmal
I’ve never got past 6 really. I don’t quite believe it. Wouldn’t say I can’t wait for the scan 😂 still very apprehensive and feel sick thinking about it.. always waiting for the bad news I think as that’s always how it’s gone previously.

hoping the SCH has shrunk and all still ok with baby and sac. I’ve definitely had more stretching pains last few weeks so I can relate to that, I think you’ll feel them more on your first pregnancy too.

will update you all weds x

@Xwx1010 yeah I get that tbf but hopefully when it’s all fine at the scan you might feel better/calmer about it? I relaxed loads after I saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks but now it’s started creeping back up again in the wait between the 7 and 12 weeks scans. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

I have my first midwife appointment on Thursday and am feeling the exact same way as you!

I feel happy but equally don’t want to get carried away.

12 weeks is very exciting @Xwx1010 !

Hi all,

Thanks for the well wishes, the scan came out negative and my HCG levels are dropping, so safe to say I'm no longer pregnant. I guess the silver lining is that they don't think it was ectopic either but need to go back for a further blood test next Monday again to make sure levels have totally dropped off.
I want to wish everyone a safe and healthy pregnancy! Hopefully one day it will happen for me but I guess not right now. Take care everyone x

Thinking of you @Phoenix87 ❤️

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 30/04/2025 08:07

Good luck with your scan today @Xwx1010i hope things are looking good.

I took my last injections yesterday. Hopefully my bruised stomach will recover. It’s also my last day of patches so I need to spend some time scrubbing all the glue off!

Did someone else have a scan today as well? I’ve lost track.

Yes good luck @Phoenix87 ….

I think @captainsmal has her first midwife appointment today and I have my first one tomorrow!

How are you feeling @Phoenix87 ?

captainsmal · 30/04/2025 08:45

@LincolnshireHollyhock it was yesterday! Just a prebooking so bloods, urine etc and got my folder of notes! Next week I have my booking appointment which is the really long one

What happens at next weeks one?

captainsmal · 30/04/2025 08:55

@LincolnshireHollyhock next week is the one where they go through my whole medical history, babies dad etc and sort out the 12 weeks scan apparently. Can’t wait for the scan feels like it’s been ages since my 7 week one 🥲

Xwx1010 · 30/04/2025 12:05

All good today! Baby was on its front stretched out so had to do star jumps to get it moving and wouldn’t sit still then, she had a nightmare measuring it 😂 basic anatomy check ok, fluid behind neck 1.5mm which is good apparently, get results back in a few weeks.
measuring 3 days ahead so DD 8th Nov now - although the 11th is my IVF date which I’ll stick to as it’s special to me (my friends birthday who died a few years back).
couldnt see SCH so hopefully shrunk now! I have a decent sized fibroid but they weren’t concerned. Oh and an anterior placenta so will feel movement later on sadly but can’t tell you how happy i am!!!

So much news on here today!
congrats on last injection @PrincessofLiechtenstein. No more tummy bruises 🙌🏻 hopefully a bump will replace the bruises soon!
nice to hear about @captainsmal and @LincolnshireHollyhock s first midwife appointments. I have my booking appointment next Friday so would be good to hear how yours goes. Do you use Badger Notes app - I can’t find how to reschedule appointments on it 😩 feels weird to be having a midwife appointment - it’s all getting real.
great news re your scan @Xwx1010 - I bet you’re buzzing now for the rest of the day!Must have been so nice to see the baby!
I had my six week scan yesterday - was really nice to see the baby and know it’s in the right place and looking healthy! My clinic want to do another scan at 9 weeks and I’m hoping I’ll be discharged after that (but nice that I will get to see the baby again so soon) x

captainsmal · 30/04/2025 18:12

@Charmofgoldfinch no app here I have physical notes I have to carry with me everywhere and take to the appointments

Xwx1010 · 30/04/2025 21:39

@PrincessofLiechtenstein Yay you must be pleased to finish? I’m STILL on progesterone 😂

@Charmofgoldfinch indidnt get much from my booking at all but think it was more the robotic midwife. Had a much lovelier one today. It’s mainly just a bombardment of questions for their records but hopefully you have a nice experience. Hopefully you’ll get your 9 week scan - it’s definitely worth having the extras it feels so long inbetween.

@captainsmal me too and I’ve forgotten them every time I’ve gone in, what an archaic silly system!! You’ve done so well with the fewer scans, are you coping ok xx

OP posts:
captainsmal · 30/04/2025 21:49

@Xwx1010 I have been but starting to go a little bit insane now tbh. Like I just wanna see the baby again and check it’s all still okay. But my period app has a weekly pregnancy thing and on week 8 it said “if you’ve seen a heartbeat now by 8 weeks the risk of miscarriage drops dramatically to around 2%” so I just keep reminding myself of that and still got tons of symptoms so I assume it’s all okay 🤞🏻
We did consider paying privately for another scan in between the 7 and 12 but we’ve already decided to pay for the 16 week early gender reveal scan so I’m not sure we should spend so much. Hopefully next week when I see the midwife again and they book the 12 week scan it’ll go quickly lol

Great news from your scan @Xwx1010glad things are looking good.

sadly not said goodbye to progesterone completely- still got two pessaries a day but it’s definitely an improvement!

My notes are all the the hospital app which does seem a lot easier. I’d be worried about loosing a book!

Glad you’ve seen the baby as well @Charmofgoldfinchits nice having the extra scans isn’t it. 12-20 weeks will seem like a very long time to wait!

Has the midwife appointment you had make you feel like this?

I’m trying to take each day as it comes - officially 9 weeks today.

Think of the journey we’ve all been on to get to this point. It’s been a rollercoaster and we have each other who understand that more than most xx

How are you doing with any symptom's etc?

No I’ve not got that app - is it good? The appointment is at 1pm so will give you the low down after… I’m travelling a bit further for it as my local hospitals get awful CQC ratings for maternity care.

P.S I’ve bought a few baby books from eBay which are really great to understand everything a bit more and have as a reference!
