BFP after IVF: 2025

Xwx1010 · 24/03/2025 18:31

Wondering if anyone else has had a BFN after IVF in the past few months? Guessing if so, most would be due October / November / December.

I just can’t get into the due month groups on the main pregnancy page as my headspace is so different after struggling with infertility back to back losses and IVF.

I’m 7weeks after 5AA transfer in February and have had 1 MMC and 2 ectopics. Due date is 11th November (if I make it that far). No children.

If anyone wants to join this thread please do! 💚

Hi all,

I had my 7 week scan this morning. Everything is looking well - baby is measuring at 13.3mm. Feels like such a mixed bag of emotion. Happiness and relief that it’s all where it should be…the heartbeat was also really amazing to see…

4th of December is the due date which feels a million miles away. Discharged from the clinic!

Charmofgoldfinch · 22/04/2025 12:12

Yay! Congratulations @LincolnshireHollyhock! bet it was so nice to see the baby and hear the heartbeat!
4th December is a nice due date - hopefully baby will be on time, gives you a few weeks to settle in and then celebrate and see family over Christmas :-)

Thank you - yes it’s a really weird feeling seeing it all.

How are you doing? X

I’m doing better thanks. I’m signed off work so have spent the morning trying to sort out all the hospital/ IVF clinic/ sick note admin. I had to go outside of my NHS trust to get NHS treatment so everyone is on a different system and no one can access each others notes so everything is such a faff!
I did my midwife referral this morning too - so thats exciting!

Xwx1010 · 22/04/2025 12:58

@LincolnshireHollyhock yay! So pleased for you!!! Hoping you feel reassured for a little while yet 😄

Omg that’s crazy! One day apart!!!! We might have to have a what’s app group going for all of us in here! (I find it reassuring knowing we are all on similar journey!)

Will you have to travel far for the out of area NHS area?

Hopefully you can relax at home for a bit. This might sound a bit lame but I picked up a puzzle at a charity shop and found it really helpful take my mind off things.

Great news @LincolnshireHollyhock congratulations! It’s so great seeing the little heartbeat isn’t it. Pleased it’s all looking good for you.

Glad to hear you are on the mend @Charmofgoldfinch. Hope you will be feeling better and back to yourself again soon.

when I saw the midwife she calculated my due date as 27th November which was a day later than the internet told me but it’s all pretty close. I guess we could all be anytime in those weeks.

Are people happy to say whereabouts in the country they are? I’m in London, appreciate it’s a bit more anonymous than if you live somewhere very small though!

Thank you - Ah end of November, so not far off. How have you been feeling @PrincessofLiechtenstein ?

I’m in North Lincolnshire (but used to live in Bromley)

Charmofgoldfinch · 23/04/2025 09:50

@LincolnshireHollyhock - Haha I have a puzzle too!
yeah I had to travel out of area for fertility treatment on the NHS - about 50 miles away. I waited on my local trust list for a year but they didn’t have any gynae consultant due to theirs being on long term sick so the waitlist was unknown (one estimate we got was 3 years for the first appointment - I cried at that!). We would have always had to travel to the next city for the IVF procedure as there’s only one facility in my county - but it’s meant for every scan, prescription, consent form etc I’ve had to do 100 mile round trip which I will be pleased to not do again once the clinic discharges me! Luckily work have been very understanding.

Im based in York :)

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 24/04/2025 06:04

Wow @Charmofgoldfinch that’s a long way to travel. Presumably meaning there is no provision in York or Leeds? That’s actually really shocking!

Phoenix87 · 24/04/2025 09:21

Hi,
I think I'll be taking a break from this thread, I suspect I'm going through a miscarriage. I ended up passing quite a few large clots on Tuesday and have been bleeding since... ended up in A&E on Tuesday night and was told as long as I'm not bleeding out massively there isn't much they can do. So just have to wait until my 6weeks scan on Monday but it's not looking good. I hope everything goes smoothly for the rest of you and thanks for all the support given, I appreciate it.

That’s awful - you’d think a place like York would have lots of options.

I’ve chosen to go outside my area for antenatal care as the local hospitals all have ‘require improvements’ under maturity care on the care quality commission website.

How long are those 100 mile trips taking? Do you feel like you are getting a decent quality of care? Hull and Leeds are meant to have good IVF specialists!

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 24/04/2025 11:52

So sorry to hear that phoenix87 I won’t tag you as I’m sure you don’t want the notifications but just wanted to say I’m thinking of you and sending love Flowers

Oh I’m so sorry you’ve had terrible time of it. Has the bleeding stopped?

A few of my he others in here have also had bleeding which has turned out to be okay. I really have everything crossed for your scan.

What time is your scan? Sending you hugs xx

Xwx1010 · 24/04/2025 17:57

So sorry to hear this phoenix - I really hope
its not a mc and a SCH or something similar is responsible for the bleeding but I appreciate that may feel like wishful thinking and you want to prepare yourself for the worst. I have bled all the way though, every week, pink, red, brown the lot it’s so worrying.
thinking of you and we’re here if you want to talk xx

Thanks for all the kind messages, the bleeding has been all over the place to be honest... it was bad on Tuesday then started to calm down on Wednesday where it was only blood when wiping and now I'm back to bleeding again with smaller clots than Tuesday. I've got my scan at 10am on Monday but even then it might be too early to see anything. Just preparing for the worse as I can't imagine the amount of blood coming out of me can be good. 🙁

Hope you’re doing ok. Are there any scans available before Monday? I’m hoping that it will be ok 💐.

Phoenix87 · 24/04/2025 22:38

@VeryConfuzzled unfortunately not Monday would be bang on my 6 weeks and they can't do any scans before that as more than likely won't be able to see anything. I'm just resigned to the fact that if it is going the way I think it is, there no way of stopping it anyway. So I just have to carry on and accept it.

Charmofgoldfinch · 24/04/2025 22:49

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 28/04/2025 11:15

How’s everyone today? I had another scan this morning. Baby is measuring 9+6 which is a day ahead and has a good heartbeat so I am finally starting to relax and believe things might be ok. I’ve been discharged from the IVF clinic and can stop my injections tomorrow.

Thinking of you Phoenix87

captainsmal · 28/04/2025 12:23

Thinking of you today @Phoenix87

@PrincessofLiechtenstein I’ve almost weaned off my progesterone now too. I’m on every other day and yesterday was my first day with none at all and had cramps so it made me so paranoid 🙄 I’m 8+5 today. First midwife tomorrow so I’m going to ask if it’s definitely okay to have stopped progesterone so early. I’m sure they know what they’re doing but I’m just so nervous about it 😭 My clinic discharged me at my 7+1 scan and said because I had a fresh transfer I should be making my own hormones but I’ve found really conflicting things online about whether you actually still have a corpus luteum after egg collection.
