Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

@expat321 with 5 day old embryo id say absolute earliest on a very sensitive tests is 4dpt. As im thinking thats like 9dpo in a natural conception. In general online ive seen people testing on 5 days post transfer.

expat321 · 30/03/2025 18:30

I literally can't cope with the wait. I'm going crazy.

I just want the disappointment to be over, or if positive, I want to get excited. But right now I'm losing my goddamn mind.

I ate half a tub of ice cream this evening as a way to distract myself...

captainsmal · 30/03/2025 18:41

@expat321 I second 4 or 5 days would be the earliest. I know it’s so hard just try and distract yourself, do you have anything to do or friends to meet up etc?
@Twofromanotherkind I don’t think so? I guess some people still can but I assumed periods won’t come on any progesterone until a few days after stopping

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 30/03/2025 18:47

I got my vvvvf (as in DH didn’t believe it was there) line on an easy@home 5dpt in the evening. Decent line on a first response the next day or probably would have shown up sooner on a first response.

You are definitely too early today though. I really think you should wait until 5dpt at least. Sorry I know the waiting is so hard. I have been doing a jigsaw in the evenings as it stops me thinking and doomscrolling!

@Timetotryagain I drank at least 1 litre of electrolytes a day during stims and 2 litres normal water, after EC tried to go more electrolytes less normal water. I wasn’t at too much of a risk though tbh doing mild ivf and only getting 8 eggs. The constipation after EC was bad though! So had fybogel twice a day and lots of foods to help with that

What electrolytes did you use?

captainsmal · 30/03/2025 19:03

@Twofromanotherkind lucozade sports and Asda own version, also the wow protein water, smart water, and some of the electrolyte tablets you dissolve in a glass of water!

spttc · 30/03/2025 19:09

This is maybe a weird one but did your partner come to your embryo transfer? The reason I ask is we have a 3yr old. So it will be tricky to find childcare 🤔 I could ask my mum but then I basically have to tell her why. We're sort of thinking maybe I just go but don't know. Tbh I think I'll find quite an awkward procedure legs in stirrups 🤣 not a magical moment as such - thoughts?

SlinkMcSlink · 30/03/2025 19:13

I hold my hands up that I’m spiralling at 5 dpt over here too! Can’t get into a positive thinking headspace and any symptoms seem to be more because of the progesterone in my mind.

expat321 · 30/03/2025 19:51

Thanks for the support and reply @captainsmal 💕 Yes I'm busy with my DC and full time job 😅 but I still can't relax. I know that I'm stressing for no reason at the moment though and need to calm down. It's actually school holidays and an extended long weekend this week where I live plus I'm taking time off work which means I have the whole week off next week to keep busy with DC. I've lined up activities every day to keep myself as distracted as possible.

@PrincessofLiechtenstein jigsaw is a good idea! I've been trying to get back in to reading to fill the time in the evenings.

Yes mine did @spttc but it's mandatory/legal procedure for the partner to be there for transfer (i think I mentioned before I live in Dubai so diff rules).

@SlinkMcSlink girl same 😭 Hand holding right here for you. I'm losing my miiiiiiind!!! I just think it hasn't happened for me and just want to be miserable and forget about it all.

Charmofgoldfinch · 30/03/2025 19:52

Hi everyone,
Ive been reading on here this month as I’m going through treatment -I wasn’t brave enough to post before and I had also kind of blocked everything out so far and not thought about treatment much (apart from jab time), but egg collection is tomorrow morning and now it’s all I can think about.

congratulations to everyone on here who has had positive results - it has been genuinely reassuring and hopeful to hear your good news!

thank you to those who gave the ganirelix tips - those jabs were bloody awful and the 45 degree upwards tip helped a lot!

captainsmal · 30/03/2025 20:01

@spttc mine came and honestly I was glad he did because he really lightened the moment when I shot that speculum at the doctor 😂😂 otherwise I’d have felt so embarrassed by myself!

spttc · 30/03/2025 20:45

@captainsmal yeh it's not the most dignified moment 🙈 I'm actually dreading it tbh I sort of wish I could be sedated tbh ughhhh

captainsmal · 30/03/2025 11:01

@OneQuirkyPanda that sounds very positive! I don’t think they would give you false hope so if they sounded pleased about it it’s a good sign 🤞🏻

Well my final update I guess?? Today is OTD! I had a really strong positive on the cheapies and a good positive on a proper stick one this morning so officially told clinic! Really can’t thank everyone on this thread enough (and Feb one before this) for the support etc the last two months, it’s helped so much going through it with other people at the same time and getting advice etc! I feel so so lucky and blessed that it worked for us on the first try, we never knew what our issue was and we only had this one embryo so I’m so shocked and know how lucky we are that it’s worked 🤞🏻still got a long way to go, the wait for first scan will be nerve wracking but considering I’ve never even had an evap line before I’m just trying to enjoy this now one day at a time 😬

This is really exciting news, hopefully the rest of us won't be too far behind you. Huge Congratulations again, im so glad it has worked, what such positive news.

Oh no!! Lol The 2ww is hard, you have to find things to keep your mind busy. What about a new TV series, a good book?

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 31/03/2025 07:23

11 - that’s great. Now the waiting phase begins! Sending lots of positive thoughts.

How is everyone doing? All those on the 2ww I know how hard it is - I found a good jigsaw really helpful to take my mind off things until I got persuaded on here after day 10.

My otd is Wednesday - sending love to everyone.

charja100 · 31/03/2025 19:58

@Timetotryagain congrats! Great number to star with. FX that you get a really strong fertilisation rate.

@OneQuirkyPandahope that you get good news tomorrow.

@expat321any symptoms yet? I already feel like AF is arriving. Hoping it’s implantation cramps!
