Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

@captainsmal in my pregnancies (1 successful, 1 miscarriage) I used the clear blue tests with weeks indicator on them. I think they're pretty accurate tbh. It's 1-2 weeks, 2-3 weeks, then 3+, and that's since conception. It was actually my first clue I might miscarry on my 2nd tbh as I took one the day it was meant to go to 3+ and it read 2-3. I'll actually never forget that moment. Not sure how to work out conception for ivf. I guess it's days since transfer + however old your embryo was 🤔 they are pricey though so I literally used them once a week for each stage.

captainsmal · 29/03/2025 10:26

@spttc yeah and it was 10,000 so the highest one so they say 10-14 days. So I tested one week after transfer which was 14 days exactly and had a faint line. So wasn’t sure if it was trigger still or not so then next morning tested again and it was much stronger and that was 15 days after trigger so I knew it must be real and not false positive 😊

captainsmal · 29/03/2025 10:27

@spttc yeah I may get one for tomorrow OTD or Monday maybe for peace of mind. On my clinic website it says in the faqs don’t worry if an ivf pregnancy shows 1-2 weeks not 3+ as levels rise differently than a normal pregnancy

@LincolnshireHollyhock I admire your control I'd have tested long ago 🤣 @captainsmal you had a trigger right? What day did you test and know it wasn't trigger?

It’s been sooooooooo difficult trying to not! My partner keeps suggesting it and I’m fighting hard to not give in!

I think with the symptoms it makes it even more tricky.. how are you feeling? @spttc

@captainsmal how late are you for your period? Any acid reflux?

captainsmal · 29/03/2025 10:56

@LincolnshireHollyhock if this was a “normal” pregnancy I’d be 3 days late today 17dpo. Maybe a tiny bit of acid reflux but mainly just a constant but mild nausea and gets a bit stronger eating certain foods. Not been sick yet or anything but a bit burpy a few times and you know when your mouth fills with saliva before you’re sick?

spttc · 29/03/2025 11:17

@captainsmal ah ok I only had 5000 trigger so maybe closer to 5days. I see most online test around 5dpt. But yes I guess you know it's not trigger once its getting stronger as then its increasing not decreasing as a trigger would be

Im also 3 days late on my cycle - surely that’s a good sign?

spttc · 29/03/2025 11:19

@LincolnshireHollyhock my transfer is on Friday so 6 days and counting. I'm feeling nervous but hopeful as it's all gone very smoothly so far. They say because I've had 2 natural pregnancies & my embryos are tested I have a good chance so I'm trying to channel that positivity 🤞 🙏

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 29/03/2025 11:23

@LincolnshireHollyhockif you are taking progesterone it will hold off your cycle.

But it does mean that if you tested now you would likely get an accurate answer.

I didn’t know that - would it also be the reason for the other symptom's?

spttc · 29/03/2025 11:34

@LincolnshireHollyhock if you tested now your answer would be accurate. On both my natural pregnancies I got a positive on an early test at 9dpo. I think they say to not test early in case it's a chemical. I personally would prefer to know if I had a chemical though so I'm definitely testing early 💯 it depends if you'd find a chemical more upsetting than a negative

How would you know if it was a chemical? Any symptoms/signs?

maybe I should test….

Sal2910 · 29/03/2025 11:40

I’m 7dp5dt and tested negative this morning ; not sure what to think but keeping positive

I’m sorry to hear that - maybe it needs a bit more time before testing again?

spttc · 29/03/2025 11:47

@LincolnshireHollyhock a chemical is just a very very early loss. So if you had a chemical I think it would have come and gone by your official test day. I think. I've seen people on other forums for ttc get a positive and then come on the next day saying the test has gone negative. That's a chemical. In the old days before these super sensitive tests people wouldn't have even know of losses because they couldn't test like we can. It really depends because on tik tok I've seen people test negative at home and then positive on test day. So it depends on you and your own feelings if you think you'd prefer to test daily, regardless of the result and you can be "prepared" I guess for when you go for official test. Or if you think you'd be stressed out now and would find it better to wait. My personality wouldn't allow me to wait. I think I'd be more sad to have a doctor tell me I'm not pregnant & have to deal with that news with a person looking at me. I'd find it easier to just see no line. And then when I go for official test it's just to rule it out and I could downplay it in my mind. Ask about next transfer etc. I'm a planner though

spttc · 29/03/2025 11:50

@Sal2910 did you use an early test? You are still in with a chance I think until 9ish days. Everything crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Sal2910 · 29/03/2025 12:02

@LincolnshireHollyhock ya perhaps it’s too early to test will have to wait and see as you do with ivf lol

@spttc i bought one from the local supermarket 25 mIU / ml. not sure if that’s early or normal

spttc · 29/03/2025 12:06

@Sal2910 that's not early. Early is 8-10. So you are definitely still in! 💯

spttc · 29/03/2025 12:07

@Sal2910 I mean 8-10mlu - if you look for one that has that or specifically says early on it. I think the early boots ones are reliable enough

Sal2910 · 29/03/2025 12:31

@spttc okay thanks , I will make my way to boots at come out today and try again tomorrow morning . Hopefully I’m still in

captainsmal · 29/03/2025 13:01

@Sal2910 when I tested on 7dpt with an early response 10iu one it was still so faint so a negative on a 25iu one doesn’t necessarily mean anything 🤞🏻

Sal2910 · 29/03/2025 13:07

@captainsmal @spttc i do have the first response kit at home lol but DH doesn’t want me to test before Thursday

captainsmal · 29/03/2025 13:20

@Sal2910 my DH wanted to wait as well but I had a meltdown while he was at work and I was day off and text him and he was like okay do one if you want 😂

Sal2910 · 29/03/2025 13:37

@captainsmal lol that’s a good idea

Timetotryagain · 29/03/2025 14:00

Hi ladies 👋 i am triggering tonight, egg collection Monday morning! So excited for the needles to stop haha!!

@Twofromanotherkind good luck for the first injection, let us know how you get on :D

@Sal2910 yeah definitely try a first response/ clear blue early one. Keeping everythint crossed

@captainsmal my sickness/ nausea didnt start until about 5/6 weeks i think. Although with my successful pregnancy i tested 2-3 THEN 1 - 2 (i think) and i freaked out. So it doesnt mean everything for if you do do it and it doesnt say 2-3 etc

@OneQuirkyPanda when do they update you next?

@Miraclemuma03 how are meds going for you?

@LincolnshireHollyhock wow you have willpower hahah!
