Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

Yay! Finally!

Morning gang :D the clinic called yesterday and said likely monday for ER but have to wait to see what fridays check up scan is looking like. I am on stims day 9 now i think so likely triggering on day 11 (hopefully!) As that means i can have a lie in on mothers day and not have to wake up early to do my morning injection haha!

@Miraclemuma03 yayy glad its getting started! Do you have the meds to do them at home now?

@Twofromanotherkind yayy! Do your stims start day 2 or 3?

@SlinkMcSlink yeah i think exercise and moving gets the blood flow to the uterus anyway :)

day 3 they said, I have booked my baseline phone call with the nurse tomorrow at 12pm so she’ll go through all the timeline

Just got back from my wife’s egg collection, feel like a right idiot, we got 6 eggs and the clinic were really happy, I was quite upset and told them we were hoping for more. They explained we are doing mild IVF not standard IVF, and the aim was always to only get 2-10 eggs. They focus on quality not quantity and use minimal hormones, I’ve been thinking for months we should be getting 15+ eggs to stand a good chance and turns out that was never the plan!

@OneQuirkyPanda glad they they were happy 💜 fingers crossed for a good fertilisation rate and blastocyst rate 🙏🙏 is mild ivf a lower dose then?

Ah ok @OneQuirkyPandayour numbers make a bit more sense then. Are you with Create? That is their strategy. There is some evidence that outcomes are the same but the impact on your body is lower. Hopefully it will work well for you guys. It’s something we considered if we need a private cycle.

Yes we are! I feel like an idiot because I remember we picked them for that reason and I feel like somewhere along the way I forgot that we aren’t doing standard IVF, so the numbers will be different. The only medication she’s had is 150 Gonal F, then just the stuff to prevent and trigger ovulation.

In my defence the initial appointment we had where they explained all of this was last August and a lot has happened since then, so that’s probably why. I do feel really relieved now as I couldn’t understand why they were happy with 6 eggs given my wife’s AMH and AFC. I thought it was a really poor outcome, but this is what they were aiming for all along.

Feels quite surreal being back on here again.
I actually started this journey a few years ago in 2021 with a previous partner where I had 3 fresh and 4 frozen transfers. Unfortunately had two MMC and one CP.
Fast forward to now met my current partner who already has a child. Me thinking we could do this the natural way but alas after a year of trying had the fertility tests and he has low and few motile sperm.
Soo here I am again. Did my first injection last night with egg collection provisional booked in for the 11th.

Hi @Alexm06 and welcome! I started my IVF journey back in 2016 with my ExH, once I got my DD, I didn't think I'd do IVF again but here we are again with a new husband and doing it all again :)

Anyone get any symptoms or twinges? Hard to tell what’s in your head, just medication or an indication that something is happening! Haha

@OneQuirkyPanda I did mild IVF too, 150 Gonal F as well don’t worry too much about numbers, I only got 8 eggs but it all worked out 🤞🏻 they say quality over quantity at my clinic too.

@SlinkMcSlink I had twinges and cramps from right after transfer and the whole time during 2ww, still have them now but they are feeling much stronger and worse after my bfp, which is apparently a good sign that the uterus is stretching etc. How many dpt are you now? Sorry brains not working you’ve probably already told me 😅 I had a lot of symptoms tbh but was putting most of them down to the cyclogest, but a few of them I’m sure are definitely pregnancy ones now not the meds.

@Timetotryagain yes. Picked up meds yesterday. I started 200 puregon and starting Monday I begin ogulantran 250. The trigger shot hasn't been decided yet. First scan is 4th April at 7.30am.

Thats a good number. Our clinic also only concentrates on quality eggs not quality. I only get 5 eggs at a time and they are always pretty happy with that.

@OneQuirkyPanda I understand the frustration here. I'd be upset too :(

@SlinkMcSlink I definitely had some 3dpt, technically on a normal cycle that’s like 8po if you did a 5 day one so it may have started implanting. But yeah I kept thinking mine were all in my head too tbh!
