Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

@PrincessofLiechtenstein fair enough. In a natural ttc cycle I’d have definitely poas by now I don’t know how I have the willpower either 😅

expat321 · 24/03/2025 17:35

@PrincessofLiechtenstein congratulations!!!!! With all those hormones were you very irritable? I am SO IRRITABLE at the moment. So much estrogen and progesterone in my body at the moment. I'm on 3x progyluton a day and 2x progesterone. I want to punch everyone in the face 😅

And let me get this right, you didn't do a trigger shot before transfer?

@captainsmal I'd say that's the progesterone x

@OneQuirkyPanda nothing useful to add but I hope she is feeling ok ❤️

SlinkMcSlink · 24/03/2025 17:51

Congratulations @PrincessofLiechtenstein

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 24/03/2025 18:55

@expat321Intermittently irritable and weepy. And my boobs have been really sore from the start. And I have been really bloated. All the fun!

That’s right, no trigger which is why they have you on so many hormones. If you do a cycle with a trigger shot then they are timing it to the egg you are releasing this month, and the corpus luteum produces progesterone and oestrogen. If you fall pregnant then the hcg from the embryo tells it to keep producing the hormones, if you don’t then it stops and your period starts.

If you do a natural FET then they don’t supplement at all and just use your natural hormones. Most cycles are either modified natural where they give you extra hormones to support lining thickness and progesterone levels with a trigger shot to make you ovulate on their right day. Or fully medicated where all the hormones are artificial so they don’t have to time the transfer with ovulation. Pros and cons to all approaches but medicated works better if your cycles aren’t regular.

A fountain of knowledge @PrincessofLiechtenstein , thank you!

Hey everyone. So I caved in even though I said I wouldn’t test because I was worrying so much about the cramps etc and… I have a second line???? It’s faint but it’s definitely there with the naked eye and showing up on photos! I’m assuming this wouldn’t be the trigger still as it’s 14 days after trigger now, but I’m not going to get my hopes up. I’m going to do another in the morning with FMU and see if it’s darker (I had just drunk a decaf coffee and a big glass of water before I did this test so probably too diluted lol) and then I might just keep doing them now until Sunday. I’m 7dp5dt today so 12dpo/two days before period due if this was a natural cycle.

I know I’m still not in the clear yet and I still have 6 days til otd but it’s at least calmed me about the cramps, maybe they really are pregnancy symptoms 😱 now impatiently waiting for DH to get home to show him the test and see what he thinks lol.

also just to add this is the first second line I’ve EVER seen in my entire 33 years of life so even to see one at all feels kinda cool 😅

So the clinic called and said her estrogen levels are 4972, she’s become very bloated today and having a lot of discharge, but as we are doing a freeze all they are happy for her to continue to stim tonight and trigger tomorrow with an estrogen lowering trigger instead. I’m a bit confused as I thought that was way too high and she’s at high risk of OHSS. Also confused how it can be that high with only three follicles measuring 17mm as my understanding is estrogen is released by dominant follicles, but I suppose we just have to trust the clinic.

Fingers crossed for you and try to hold out a bit of hope still for the others to catch up!
I had stims for 9 days and had to stop as my estrogen was 21900 at my 10 day check 😳
At that point I had 9 follicles between 12 and 18mm and triggered that night. 36 hrs later and I ended up with 19 follicles. Please make sure your partner is drinking at least 3L a day, made up of plenty of electrolytes. I've ended up with quite bad OHSS and i wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Does you partner have any cysts? I have one that wasn't considered an issue due to small size but it turned out that is what was kicking out so much estrogen

Sounds like you're pregnant to me! Congratulations 🥳

captainsmal · 24/03/2025 19:49

@expat321 I really hope so! I just can’t quite bring myself to believe it after 10 years of ttc to be honest. As soon as I dipped the stick I was convinced it was gonna be negative cos I must’ve done hundreds over the years and so used to no lines and so I almost walked away from it but checked after like 1-2 mins and the line was there 😅
I’m thinking even if there is still a chance of any trigger being in my system it would’ve been much fainter at this point so 🤞🏻🤞🏻 just gonna have to see what happens tomorrow morning now lol

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 24/03/2025 21:05

Congratulations @captainsmalso so happy for you! Really hope that it’s not the trigger- I definitely think it should be out if your system by now. 🤞🤞 that you see some progression in the morning.

captainsmal · 24/03/2025 21:09

@PrincessofLiechtenstein thank you! Everything I’ve seen says 14 days for trigger is like the absolute maximum so as long as I still have two lines in the morning I’ll be happy 😊

OneQuirkyPanda · 24/03/2025 21:40

@captainsmal @PrincessofLiechtenstein congratulations to you both! x

Miraclemuma03 · 24/03/2025 21:52

@captainsmal I think that is a positive!!! Congratulations!! How exciting.

So my period came 2 days early which absolutelty sucks because I cant get to my clinic until Thursday and today is Tuesday. I all but never get a period early but I just knew it was going to happen so hopefully I don't have to start any medications through my cycle because I can't go pick them up until day 3. Down side to irregular periods is you just never can pin point when they are going to arrive. I woke this morning with cramps and back ache and could feel it all . Sorry tmi. Il ring my clinic today with a plan.

Miraclemuma03 · 24/03/2025 22:14

Crises diverted. Thankfully i don't have to start stims until cycle day 3 so everything is going to be alright. hopefully. Eekkk it is all about to start happening.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 24/03/2025 22:18

Good news @Miraclemuma03my clinic only gave us everything on day 3 as well so I think that’s pretty normal. Hope your scan goes well on Thursday and you get the all clear to start

captainsmal · 25/03/2025 07:35

@Miraclemuma03 yay! Bet it all feels real now it’s about to start

So I did another test this morning with FMU and lines still there and it’s definitely a tiny bit darker and also thicker!! So it definitely can’t be the trigger now cos it’s been 15 days since that. I can’t quite believe it 😭😭 now it just needs to stay positive and hopefully keep progressing until Sunday! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

SlinkMcSlink · 25/03/2025 07:36

Just using this as a sounding board/worry space as we’re waiting to hear how the embryo is through the thawing process.

The embryologist has reassured me that there is only 5-10% chance of it not getting through the thawing process but it’s happened to us before so that hasn’t reassured me.

SlinkMcSlink · 25/03/2025 07:37

Congrats @captainsmal xxx

Miraclemuma03 · 25/03/2025 07:39

@captainsmal it has felt like forever to get here, I just want to jump in. That's so great about your hpt being positive still, I definitely think your well and truly past the trigger showing up.

Timetotryagain · 25/03/2025 07:43

@captainsmal congratulations lovely 💜💜💜💜 amazing news!

@SlinkMcSlink keeping everything crossed that it thaws well for you 💜

Timetotryagain · 25/03/2025 07:44

@Miraclemuma03 typical for it to arrive early but glad that it seems you can get all you need on day 3

captainsmal · 25/03/2025 07:45

@SlinkMcSlink 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you!

Timetotryagain · 25/03/2025 07:59

Had my day 6 scan yesterday, think there were 4 follicles on the right and 14 on the left! One was around 13mm the lead one and the rest around 9-10 (or few smaller ones)

They said just to carry on, next scan tomorrow.

I tried the 45 degree angle for ganirelix and it worked better @captainsmal :)

captainsmal · 25/03/2025 08:03

@Timetotryagain that’s a good amount of follicles and I believe they grow around 2mm a day so you’re getting there! I stimmed for 10 days in the end and got 17 follicles/8 eggs

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 25/03/2025 08:23

Hope everything goes well today @SlinkMcSlinkwhat time is your transfer?

great news @Timetotryagainsounds like things are progresssing nicely!
