Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

@lovelivelaugh64 hi, yes so I had 12 eggs collected and they were all mature, 11 fertilised but one 1 made it to a good quality blastocyst which they have transferred yesterday so fingers crossed. They call today to let me know that 3 more made in to the blastocyst stage but were average quality and if they had to do it again ; they will transfer two due to its quality and possibly my age (41)

in terms on my eggs , I didn’t do anything special before hand but I was always quite healthy anyways and had an active lifestyle, don’t smoke or drink - don’t know if that made any difference at all

what stage are you at ?

Sal2910 · 23/03/2025 11:58

@PrincessofLiechtenstein Thank you!! @Banksl92 good luck to you too ! Hope is all goes well - I have been told to test on the 3rd April ; what about you ?

Timetotryagain · 22/03/2025 22:06

@ShortAndIntense yeah its crazy how much there is! Where are you in the cycle/ process at the moment?

I had my egg collection in January, but had to do a freeze all because of the risk of OHSS. We’re due to do a FET on Thursday 😬

Timetotryagain · 23/03/2025 22:13

@captainsmal thank you for the tips about the ganirelix 💜 did you inject the air bubble in too or get rid of it? Nurse said to just inject it in. How are you feeling now?

@ShortAndIntense good luck for thursday! Is this your first transfer?

@Sal2910 best of luck 🙏🙏

How did you all feel during stims? I feel like my ovaries feel a bit bigger but not really feeling any different yet but i am only on day 5 of stims

I was told to test on 2nd April! Going to try as hard as I can not to test early but I know what I’m like. We are going away for a few days tomorrow so hopefully this will take my mind off it for a bit at least!

Count down is on for my period to start. My app tells me I'm due in 3 days so we will just wait and see.

I've been trying to follow along.

@Banksl92 and @captainsmal what dpt are you now? Sorry if someone had already asked.

How is everyone else going? I read a few comments that some have had a good egg retrieval, where are you at with that now?

expat321 · 24/03/2025 04:20

@ShortAndIntense you're one day ahead of me ☺️ I have FET scheduled for Friday.

SlinkMcSlink · 24/03/2025 06:30

Fingers crossed for everyone who is in the tww and good luck for those having a transfer this week.

Mine is tomorrow although I have all these irrational fears now it being my 3rd transfer. My last one they had to defrost two embryos as one didn’t make it through the defrosting. Ahhh. 😧

Fml just did my ovamex/ ganirelix and the needle is made from a spoon it seems haha. Bounced off my skin the first time.i tried it and i had to really push hard the second time! I am on cd7 now, day 6 of stims and got my first scan today. Bit nervous as i dont really feel uncomfortable or anything just hoping i have good follicle growtth!

@SlinkMcSlink fingers crossed for an easy transfer!

@expat321 are you doing medicated/ modified or natural fet?

@Miraclemuma03 hope your period arrives soon! Mone was 2 days late i was livid haha

@Banksl92 going away will be perfect for resting 💜

captainsmal · 24/03/2025 07:47

@Timetotryagain yeah inject the air bubbles it’s fine! The needle is definitely way thicker on those ones just make sure it’s at 45 degree angle and the opening is facing up so you’re stabbing with like the narrowest part if that makes sense?
@Miraclemuma03 I’m 7dp5dt today! 6 more days until otd 😬

Miraclemuma03 · 24/03/2025 07:53

Wow @captainsmal I don't know about you but that seems like that time went fast hahaha it's probably been slow and days never ending. How have you been keeping your self busy?

expat321 · 24/03/2025 07:58

@Timetotryagain so I'm not actually sure! We are not in the UK and the protocol is completely different to how I remember 8 years ago in London...

I was told to start progyluton "the pill" basically on the 2nd day of my cycle. Then had a scan at the weekend, lining looks good etc so now I am on injections of prolutex and progesta suppositories - both seem to just be progesterone supplements BUT I am still taking "the pill" for my estrogen levels and the clinic said I continue taking this until even after transfer?!

Transfer will be CD 18 with a Day 5 embryo (so in theory if it were natural pregnancy it would be CD 13 I got "pregnant") but they are not doing any trigger injection or making me ovulate. I'm trusting the process but also very scared as it feels like it doesn't make sense.

Anyone shed any light?!

captainsmal · 24/03/2025 08:04

@Miraclemuma03 well I went back to work two days after transfer so just been so busy tbh! And then trying to fill my time on days off. It’s definitely going so quickly though. One minute I’m convinced it’s worked the next I’m convinced it hasn’t so I really don’t know what to expect on Sunday tbh!

I had my transfer Saturday so 2dpt. I’ve had a lot of small twinges/ mild cramping but it’s so hard to not look into it too much! I had very sore boobs, bloating and cramping before the transfer due to the utrogestan so I think it’s more that causing these things than anything else!

Miraclemuma03 · 24/03/2025 08:35

@Banksl92 it's really hard to tell the difference between what could be possible implantation and early pregnancy or progesterone. I always have progesterone side effects and any actual pregnancy symptoms usually start for me around 6 weeks when it becomes bad enough to tell the difference, anything before that is masked by the progesterone. Have you planned anything to do while your in your 2ww?

OneQuirkyPanda · 24/03/2025 11:13

My wife had her day 11 scan today, she has 3 follicles measuring 17mm, 5 just behind and then a lot between 10-15mm, not sure of the amount as they didn’t say. They haven’t really given us much information on the follicles at all other than the lead ones. I asked the doctor how many eggs we should expect and she said 3 definitely and the other 5 should catch up so maybe 8.

They did some blood tests and said if her estrogen isn’t too high they want her to stim for another day and do EC Thursday to allow the smaller follicles to catch up. I just feel a bit down as 8 eggs seems low to me considering her AFC was 37 and her AMH was 24, I know 10-15 is an ideal number, so we were hoping for around that.

This sounds like the same fully medicated protocol as me. I’ve been on 2x progesterone pessaries and 2xinjections a day, 5 x oestrogen tablets and 2x patches every other day (this was lower but they put it up at my day 7 scan as they wanted my lining thicker) and a blood thinner once a day.

I also had cetrotide to stop ovulation, rather than a trigger shot so that means that all the hormones im on are artificial.

Protocols vary between clinics but I think the reason my clinic do this is so they can control the timings a bit better with less scanning.

Good luck to everyone with transfers coming up and wishing many distractions to everyone in the tww!

My official OTD was today and I got a dye stealer on a first response this morning so I’ve officially told the clinic. Just waiting to hear from them now and find out the next steps.

captainsmal · 24/03/2025 13:56

@PrincessofLiechtenstein wooo so exciting! Congrats again

does anyone know if I will get a period on cyclogest? I assumed I wouldn’t cos of the progesterone but it really feels like it’s on its way now? Like cramps and that heavy sort of feeling. Not sure if it’s a side effect of the medication, a pregnancy/implantation thing, or if I’m genuinely out this cycle? 7dpt so would be 12dpo on a regular cycle ie period would be due within next few days. Still got 6 more sleeps til otd aahhhh 😬😬

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 24/03/2025 14:59

@OneQuirkyPandathat is a bit disappointing, hopefully an extra day of stims will help them catch up though. Pretty sure they got all of mine that were 12mm+ at this stage, although not all were mature.

@captainsmalthe cyclogest should hold off a period. But all the cramps could be PG symptoms and even a bit of bleeding can happen. It’s so hard to tell what’s progesterone, other hormones or symptoms. Keeping things crossed for you

captainsmal · 24/03/2025 15:05

@PrincessofLiechtenstein I thought it should. It’s not constant just every few hours getting a wave of pain that’s worse than the cramps I’ve had previously since transfer tbh. And definitely feels like the ones I get during AF. So annoying how it could be either meds or pregnancy or period lol. I was thinking I might try and persuade DH to try a sneaky early test tomorrow but since then seen some stuff online saying trigger can last up to 16 days in system so now I’m not sure 🤔 I thought it was usually out by 10-14. Kinda wishing I’d tested it out now but oh well. I’m sure it will go quickly until Sunday anyway lol

OneQuirkyPanda · 24/03/2025 15:11

@PrincessofLiechtenstein I have done a bit reading and it appears there is still a decent chance of some mature eggs in the follicles 10mm and above, obviously the chance increases with the size of the follicle. Maybe she was just being conservative with her estimate, as my wife has a lot of other follicles that 10-15mm. The way she answered made it seem like only the follicles measuring 17mm and above could produce mature eggs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

OneQuirkyPanda · 24/03/2025 16:50

So the clinic called and said her estrogen levels are 4972, she’s become very bloated today and having a lot of discharge, but as we are doing a freeze all they are happy for her to continue to stim tonight and trigger tomorrow with an estrogen lowering trigger instead. I’m a bit confused as I thought that was way too high and she’s at high risk of OHSS. Also confused how it can be that high with only three follicles measuring 17mm as my understanding is estrogen is released by dominant follicles, but I suppose we just have to trust the clinic.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 24/03/2025 16:54

@captainsmalIm probably not the best influence as I’m definitely a tester and I don’t think I could have had your will power! Are you 7dpt today? I think if you give it another few days then you’d get an accurate result. 10dpt would be 15dpo in a normal cycle so you should get a clear answer. Or at least a trigger line would be vvv faint but a true positive would be stronger.

@OneQuirkyPandayeah maybe she was just trying to manage your expectations. It must be easier to give a conservative estimate then have people be happy to exceed it, rather than be over optimistic and have people be disappointed. They will keep growing until EC as well, and they can have a bit of a last minute grown spurt.
