Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

Hi everyone, please can I join? 😊
I've just finished my 2nd "proper" cycle of a 3-cycle package and what a rollercoaster is has been so far. I have DOR and our first cycle attempt back in December was cancelled at day 5 owing to only having 1 follicle. Genuinely questioned whether this would ever happen for us and had to try pick myself up over Christmas to regroup for 2025.
We tried again in January, got 12 eggs, 10 mature, and 6 fertilised. The clinic froze our one good quality embryo at day 3 and none of the other 5 made blastocyst. Clinic were questioning a quality issue on either mine or my partners side as the embryos were mainly "fair" quality and the sperm didn't manage to salvage any.
I've now just finished my second round and after discussions with the clinical teams decided to stick to the same protocol and only add a primer in cycle 3 if we had similar outcomes. Final results yesterday were 13 retrieved, 13 mature, 11 fertilised, 1 excellent quality day 3 frozen, and 3 blastocysts! 2 x day 5, and 1 x day 6.
The intracycle variability is absolutely insane to me and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to such differing outcomes. Now prepping myself for round 3 of retrieval which will most likely happen late April/early May!

@ivfjourneyandme I was the same last week. Mine called around that time too. Praying for you 🙏🏻

I’m good thanks I’m sort of going between “ooh this twinge could be pregnancy symptom” and “it’s definitely not worked.” About 20 times a day lol. Still 10 days til otd but technically trigger will be out of my system by Monday so I don’t know whether to test early on Tuesday

I literally buy like 20 tests and test every day. I can't help myself.

I said this time would be different and I'd ONLY test on OTD, but I know myself lol...

Still don't have a date for transfer yet anyway.

expat321 · 20/03/2025 15:42

Oh @Banksl92 that's shit ❤️‍🩹

Omg @ivfjourneyandme I am heartbroken for you. What in the cause here? The eggs or the sperm? Or both? I never heard of an egg that couldn't be injected. Utterly utterly heartbreaking. What happens now? Tbh, you're not at the end of the road until you're at the end of the road and I feel like you're not there yet - I'm sure there's more tests etc you can do to explore what's going on. Maybe you've done them all already so I apologise if I'm coming across ignorant or arrogant.

RainbowFluff · 20/03/2025 21:22

@ivfjourneyandme so sorry to hear your news, I really don’t know what to say. I hope that you are looking after yourself.

@Banksl92 I’m hoping there’s a turnaround for you but I know it’s important to be prepared for the worst as well.

Welcome. Wow thats a huge difference from the first cycle. I hope for the 3rd cycle you have another good outcome. When would you do a fet?

Miraclemuma03 · 21/03/2025 04:45

Now the wait begins for my cycle to start. My period tracker says I'm due in 6 days but I never get them on time usually, but once in a blue mood I'm thrown a curve ball and it comes early so I guess the wait begins. Anyone not started their ivf cycle yet and awaiting a period to begin?

Me too!!! I just want to begin because the build up is so much worse. I was suppose to start stims in February but we had to postpone.

Oh no how annoying! Bet that’s felt like an age! It feels like it’s all really dragging now

That's how I feel, just like it's dragging on at this point. We decided back in November to start over and thought we would get over Xmas then though get the kids back to school and get those costs out of the way but then hubby got sick and needed time of work so really needed to rely on the savings and ivf will take a huge chunk especially when we didn't know when hubby would be back at work but he is back at work now so hopefully all the BS is over and we can just move forward .

Timetotryagain · 21/03/2025 08:30

@Miraclemuma03 @Twofromanotherkind i am on cd4 now and it will be my third stims tonight. My period has 2 days late which was soooo annoying as i was patiently waiting for it to start haha. Hopefully yoi get early periods and can start sooner!

@OneQuirkyPanda i did my second one with your tips and had less leakage of the meds this time :D hows your wife doing?

@captainsmal how are you feeling?

How many of us are still in an active cycle?

captainsmal · 21/03/2025 08:38

@Timetotryagain I’m feeling weirdly good thanks! I was worried about the cyclogest because when I had the other progesterone before the cycle I felt so shit but this time I feel great? Maybe just the hope of being PUPO and the good weather lol. I have like EVERY pregnancy symptom atm but they could all be progesterone so I’m trying not to read too much into it. Not been sleeping much cos I keep getting up to pee in the night but I’m weirdly wide awake in the mornings even though I’m not normally a morning person at all haha. The only two things which might not be the cyclogest are a metallic taste in my mouth which previously I’ve only had the day after my hcg trigger, and also one of my cats has been weirdly all over me and has to sleep on my chest all night 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m 4dp5dt now so I still have 9 days til otd but hopefully it’s implanted by now 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Miraclemuma03 · 21/03/2025 08:57

@captainsmal oohhh maybe all good signs. I have everything xd this is the one.

It's really hard for me to know because I don't get any symptoms. I do get progesterone side effects , they start after a couple doses before a transfer so I know they arnt pregnancy related.

Timetotryagain · 21/03/2025 10:09

@captainsmal fingers crossed!!! That does sound promissing especially the metallic taste.

I tested positive quite strongly at 10dpo with ny successful pregnancy so i would be so tempted to test from 5dp5dt haha!

OneQuirkyPanda · 21/03/2025 10:12

@Timetotryagain great! Glad it helped :) How are you getting on with the stims?

She is doing well thank you, just got back from a day 8 scan, follicles are showing nice growth, her right ovary is responding much better than the left, I wonder if it’s because of the cyst on the left?

They have booked another scan for Monday and some blood tests, they think she will have 5-10 follicles that will 17mm by then which is when they trigger, so looking at triggering Monday and egg collection Wednesday all being well. I’m not sure if the smaller follicles will catch up by EC, I don’t really understand how many should be above 17 by day 11 and how that corresponds to how many eggs we will get. I should have asked really, but they seemed happy with her progress and haven’t changed anything so I guess that’s good news!

captainsmal · 21/03/2025 10:47

@Miraclemuma03 @Timetotryagain yeah some of these started before transfer after EC when I started cyclogest like the boobs and stuff so not counting those but a few new ones… could all just be in my head though! I’m just trying to find it positive that this is literally the closest I’ve ever been to being pregnant in 10 years ttc so even if it’s negative it’s as far as I’ve ever got!

RainbowFluff · 21/03/2025 14:51

@captainsmal that sounds interesting, one of my cats was obsessed with me before I even knew I was pregnant, starting from around 4 days post transfer. Then my next symptom 5 days post was getting up three times in the night to go to the toilet. So fingers crossed you’re on the right track!

captainsmal · 21/03/2025 16:33

@RainbowFluff yeah she’s normally very cuddly with me (grumpy with everyone else lol) and she likes to sleep in the bed under the covers with me but like by my side so I sort of spoon her. But the last two nights she’s been climbing all over me, sleeping right on top of me and sniffing my face and hair and going kinda crazy purring like mad lol. I dunno one minute I’m like “yep definitely worked I feel so pregnant” then the next I’m convinced it’s all either in my head or it’s the progesterone and I’m already planning my next cycle 🙄

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 21/03/2025 18:04

Our cat has also been spending a lot more time in my lap than usual. Although google suggested that it might just be because the progesterone makes you really hot. I like to think it’s because she knows though!

It does sound positive @captainsmalhave you decided when you are going to test?

Sal2910 · 21/03/2025 18:25

hi all , I’ve a transfer scheduled for tomorrow morning but I’ve not heard from the clinic since Tuesday - out of 12 collected ; 11 were fertilised. Really hoping that some makes it to the blastocyst stage but I was told by the clinic if anything goes wrong they will call me in advance but I’ve not heard anything so fingers crossed .

anyone’s who’s had a transfer before , how long did you wait before you tested ? And if you got positive result , how long after the transfer was it ?

SlinkMcSlink · 21/03/2025 19:04

Last two times that I’ve transferred, I was told to test 11 days later. This was with 5 day frozen transfers. @Sal2910

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 21/03/2025 19:09

I got a vvvvvf line on an easy@home 5dpt in the evening, decent line on a first response the following morning but still a squinter on the cheap tests.

Sal2910 · 21/03/2025 20:21

Thank you! I’ll try and refrain from testing until at least one week but let’s see if I manage to get a transfer done tomorrow first ; I’m getting ahead of myself 🫣

ShortAndIntense · 21/03/2025 20:39

Hello everyone, please can I join? Just looking for a place where everyone knows what this process is like. DH and I are going through our first round of IVF. Bit of info about me: I’m 30, have PCOS. Have had 2 natural pregnancies but one ended in miscarriage, and one last year ended with ruptured ectopic at 12 weeks which resulted in needing emergency surgery, 9 pints of blood transfused, and a week in hospital. So it’s been a bit of a ride so far.

I had my egg collection in January. 25 eggs collected, 22 mature, 10 fertilised. 6 good quality day 5 blasts in the freezer. Had to do a freeze all because of the OHSS risk.

FET is next week with a 3AB embryo, and I keep going from hopeful to very scared about it not working. Don’t know what else to say really, but good luck to all of us!

Allnew2021 · 21/03/2025 22:28

@ivfjourneyandme I'm so sorry to hear your news 😔 that must be devastating for you. Sending a hugs x

We got the pgt-a result today that our only embryo is mosaic, meaning there were normal and abnormal cells in the biopsy. They didn't give any further information but said a genetic counselor will be in touch next week to discuss this more with us. I'm feeling pretty deflated now.
