Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

Hi everyone, I'm jumping on for the first time!
TTC for almost 5 years, turns out I had a right hydrosalpinx and left side blocked. We have used the CRM in coventry, Started stims on the 8th, by the 17th I had 30 follicles, 11 the correct size and took my trigger shot. Collection was yesterday and they retrieved 19 eggs.
We are now waiting a call to see how many have made it through to today 🤞🏻

This happened to my wife as well, we’ve managed to stop it happening by injecting very slowly, leaving the needle in for about ten seconds then very slow removing it and immediately applying pressure to the injection site. At most she gets a small drop come out now.

I've had it rough with the injections, delays and now have developed OHSS so some good news today would be really nice!

I’m good thanks I’m sort of going between “ooh this twinge could be pregnancy symptom” and “it’s definitely not worked.” About 20 times a day lol. Still 10 days til otd but technically trigger will be out of my system by Monday so I don’t know whether to test early on Tuesday

@Timetotryagain if any have fertilised over night. My first cycle we had total failed fertilisation (nothing fertilised) which we were not expecting. As we’re using ICSI it only happens in 1-3% cases but I guess someone has to be the unlucky one. If it’s happened again, we’ve been told it’s unlikely we’ll be able to have children of our own. So a lot of emotion over here right now.

@captainsmal i can imagine it must be so tormenting waiting. My friend has got her 7 week scan today with IVF baby and she said the tww was agonising. She tested very early - her clinic told her to test 7 days after a 5 day transfer.

@ivfjourneyandme for some reason my clinic has said 13dpt which would be like 4 days late on a regular period. I guess at least it would be accurate by then. Tuesday would be 8dp5dt which should show up as it would be like one day before period so I’m debating with myself lol

@captainsmal I think they say to test late so people don't know they've had a chemical for example. "Less upsetting". But I personally would want to know that information so I'm definitely testing early when it's time

Hey guys. Had my day 3 update today. Out of 6 fertilised 4 have made it to day 3 but no good quality all average. They have said the chances of any of them making it to day 5 and being good enough to be implanted is low. I’m absolutely devastated and now sitting in the back of a work meeting trying not to cry!

@captainsmal I think once you know that a positive pregnancy test doesn't always mean a baby then you can test early. As long as you look at that positive test as another step in the journey and not a sure thing. But if a positive turning to a negative is more upsetting to you than just never having a positive at all then ur better waiting probably

@Banksl92 I'm sorry to read this. And it's so harsh what women have to go through. Getting this news and having to carry on as normal. It will be ok in the end as they say - and if it's not ok it's not the end. They may improve. It's early. If they don't you'll still be ok ❤️ it's just shit now

Clinic called. Failed fertilisation. Again.

One egg didn’t make it through injection. One didn’t fertilise and one fertilised but abnormally.

Looks like it’s over for us.

12 of my 19 have fertilised. This may seem like a stupid question and I should have asked when they called, but does that mean the other 7 are now totally useless or do they still keep them for a bit longer to see if anything happens?

@Banksl92sorry your update isn’t what you’d hoped but 4 at day 3 isn’t out of the game yet. We only had 2 but then one caught up and we somehow ended up with 3 on day 6. It’s such a rollercoaster though. Be kind to yourself, and go home sick if you need to have some space.

@captainsmalI decided I’d rather know if I had a chemical as it might help to indicate if the issue was with implantation or the embryo. It’s a tough call though. Maybe it would have been better to wait a few more days but I am not convinced. My OTD is 14dpt which I agree seems really long. Especially if you are negative, it’s seems a long time to keep having to take all the meds, but I guess they don’t want people to give up too soon?
