Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

@captainsmal Try and be positive as hard as it may be. I was in a similar position to you… 18 collected, 12 fertilised and matured, 1 transferred and none frozen. Was a tough 2ww but I’m now 8 weeks pregnant. I had my viability scan last Friday and I was bang on 7 weeks. Honestly a miracle! Look after yourself and no more lugging cases around!!

Hi Everyone, Hope everyones doing well :) I'm on day 8 of stims and had my scan this morning. All growing well and lining thickening as it should. Egg collection monday or tuesday. So very nervous for this but excited to get to that stage to. x

@captainsmal just seeing this. There's still a chance. Grades aren't the be all end all at all as they can catch up. Everything crossed for you! I'm sorry about your other embryos 😔

@Sal2910 I did pgt-a testing aswell. It essentially checks are embryos genetically normal. Ones that aren't won't implant, will miscarry or will have chromosomal conditions. Testing is essentially a way to reduce failed transfers, save time, reduce risk of miscarriage. It can work out cheaper if you avoid lots of the above. Obviously you can be lucky and they can happen to pick a normal one to transfer first go etc. I had 5, 3 came back normal, 2 need to be retested.

Hi all ☺️ I have my Frozen embryo transfer at then end of March/start of April. I'm on cycle day 3, just doing natural cycle so letrozole cd 2-6 and then I May or may not do a trigger shot. I guess frozen transfers are done sometime between cd 17-20 so we will see 😬 I have a monitoring scan next Wednesday. Nervous but excited

@expat321 do they tell you genders in testing? Where are you doing ivf. They don't here - I'm in Ireland 🙄 I really don't understand why they don't it's ridiculous.

@spttc no they arent allowed to tell you the embryos sex ti avoud gender bias which i accept but i wish they told you righr after transfer hahaha!

@captainsmal keeping everything crossed for you! I wouldnt worry about overdoing it. We are ttc our 2nd and i asked the clinic if i would still be able to lift them and the heavy pram and they said its unavoidable. Plenty of women continue to lift heavy things or exercise etc. Xx

@Timetotryagain yes they aren't but @expat321 said she has 1 male embryo that she wants to use so I'm asking where she's doing ivf

@spttc ahh okay i missed that bit! I know a few people who were in the USA get told their embryo gender and they can choose which one to put in!

@Timetotryagain it's weird I have a daughter already conceived naturally. And I had such a strong need for another daughter I considered doing ivf somewhere where you can choose gender (Cyprus, Dubai I think) but it was too much time away etc so decided not to but now I'm almost glad as I think I'd be happy with either tbh. Part of me almost would prefer a boy now because I'm having typical mom guilt of her and I losing a bond or something as she wouldn't be only girl (stupid I know), so maybe it's just as well as I think I'd struggle with the decision 😬

@spttc yeah its a tricky decision isnt it. I think either way a sister for her will be lovely and one of each will be lovely too! I did read that ivf produces slightly more likelihood of having a boy than a girl (i think its like 51% boy so hardly a massive difference)

@Timetotryagain yeh but naturally you're also more likely to have a boy. I actually asked my consultant about this and he said really there's no difference in his experience. It's about 50/50. In natural conception for every 105 boys born there's 100 girls - I've seen this number vary 107/100 etc. Fate will decide 💙💗 Happy with any healthy baby that goes without saying ☺️🤞

@Sal2910 no specific reason, we just did it because we could and our preference was a boy because I lost my son late in my first pregnancy (also an IVF pregnancy so that loss was incredibly brutal given all we'd been through just to get to that point).

@captainsmal that's really upsetting news. I bet you're feeling deflated. If it's anything positive, my DD was a 4BB, so pretty average embryo and now she's a thriving chatty and bright 7yo.

@spttc yeh! We live in Dubai and gender testing is legal here unlike the UK.

Thanks everyone, I feel better after my little disappointed moment earlier. Just the thought of doing it all again if this one doesn’t stick you know? But I’m trying to stay positive this one will be the one 🤞🏻 had some tugging/pulling in my uterus today but not sure if it’s the progesterone or implantation or even just from them poking around so much this last week 🤷🏼‍♀️ I guess I’ll just have to be patient. Don’t think I’ll test before otd tbh

Sorry you haven’t got any to freeze @captainsmalbut I really hope your transfer is successful. My currently sticky one was a 3bb or 2b-b so also average. It still gives an ok chance. And I really don’t think that’s too much exercise, my doctor told me to go straight back to normal.

Im still positive today but spending a lot of time on Reddit looking at test line progression and worrying about a chemical. I know I need to stop but it’s really hard to manage all the anxiety that you build up through the process. I feel like I have just transferred it to the next stage.

Got a call this morning to say out of the 7 eggs 6 have fertilised. They are going to call me Thursday to give me a day 3 update. Keeping everything crossed at least 1 makes it to day 5 and we can have transfer on Saturday

@captainsmal don’t panic and don’t blame yourself. I hope that it works out for you but if it doesn’t I think it’s very easy to think it’s something you did when usually it’s just chance.

@PrincessofLiechtenstein Thank goodness my acupuncturist gave us a code for 30% off Zita West, hope it will be worth it as feels like a lot of pills at the moment.
