Hiya. I’m due to start IVF in March and just wanted to find some people who were going through the same so we can support/ advise eachother! I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant for 8 years now and just wanted to meet some people in the same boat!

@Twofromanotherkind I ate a lot of Taco Bell that week but it wasn’t the spicy ones tbh haha

EC booked for Wednesday. I see no point with only 2 follicles at correct stage. This journey doesn’t let up 😭

@PrincessofLiechtenstein, I was taking 225iu of Gonal-F stims during the first round. For this second round, I was switched to 300iu of Puregon. They also gave me a different trigger this time around.

@captainsmal good luck with the 2ww! I can’t believe it’s come around so quickly, it feels like yesterday you were only just starting.

I feel a bit like I’m lurking at the moment as not decided when/if I’ll have any more treatment. I’m definitely having a break from it so considering June or later for the next round (maybe @lemonwrighty we’ll end up at the same time). I just started the Zita West egg quality supplements although my partner met with a male fertility coach who thinks it sounds like he might have some things that need looking in to before we try again. We’re looking at some other clinics since Create weren’t very interested in testing him for anything.

Wow what a lot to catch up on! I haven't been on the boards for just over a week (I wanted a little break after the intensity of the all the injections, scans and constant waiting for results) but thought I would pop on to see how everyone is doing. I have a scan tomorrow to check on a large cyst found during my egg collection - hopefully it has gone down now I am off the meds and wont need any intervention. We should also hear back about the PGT-A testing at some point this week too so we can see if we will be planning a frozen transfer or another ivf cycle.

32 days, 3 scans and 45 injections later, it’s come to that stage of hoping we beat all odds and overcome total failed fertilisation this time around.

Hi all - I’m new on here and posting for the first time .. good luck everyone with their journeys fingers crossed for all of you:)

I am 41 and had my EC today and there were 12 ; doctor was happy but now I’m wondering if they were indeed all mature eggs or not lol ! I don’t know! She said we got 12 eggs and that was on short protocol and that she is happy.

Waiting to hear from the embryologist tomorrow hopefully some fertilised !

@RainbowFluffDH and I did a mix of the Zita west supplements and the ovum supplements (depending what was on offer) his sperm tests did improve. He also pretty much quit drinking and switched to loose boxers (not without moaning😂). Taking a bit of a break seems like a good idea, it’s a lot to put yourself through.

@Allnew2021good luck with your pgta results and I hope your cyst has gone

Good luck with EC. I hope by some chance they find more mature eggs. But just remember it only takes on good embryo so il be keeping everything xd for you.

7 eggs are a great number all that matters is if they are good quality and you get a decent fertilisation rate. Keeping everything xd.

@SunshineCorazon24 not sure when ET is yet as we did freeze all cycle because we wanted the embryos to be tested. We only have 4 genetically viable which feels like such a small number when I had 18 mature eggs and we did ICSI.

We also only have 1 male embryo which is the one we want to use (I have 2 DDs already), so it really is pinning a lot of hope on this one embryo.

I'm on progyluton now ahead of a scan this Saturday and then FET at some point next week just don't know when yet!

@expat321 thank you! Yes it’s my first time doing IVF ; few more hours of wait to see if any of the eggs collected yesterday fertilised!

@expat321 i see that you are doing the genetic testing , can that only be done in frozen embryos?

Yes you have to freeze to do testing as it takes a couple of weeks to get the results back I think

Just heard back from the clinic, looks like 12 eggs fertilised overnight after ICSI. Now, I just have to wait until Sunday to find out how many of those eggs progress.

Out of the 12 retrieved yesterday , we had 11 fertilizsed; booked for transfer on Saturday provided at least once reaches the blastocyst stage.

@expat321 is there specific reason for doing the genetic testing ? I’m considering it but not sure if I want to spend more money haha !

So final update from the clinic today. None of our other embryos made it to day 6 for freezing and were already disintegrating she said. So this one inside me is literally our only chance. Feeling a bit deflated tbh. I don’t know what I’m going to do if this one doesn’t implant 😞 It was a grade 2.2 expanding blastocyst (1 is the best 3 is the worst) so sort of average quality tbh. I know it only takes one and I’m trying to stay positive but I’m already stressing about whether I’ve ruined my chances… had to walk home from the bus yesterday up a steep hill with my suitcase and carry it up some steps so now I’m thinking I’ve done too much activity after transfer and messed it all up 🥲

@captainsmaloh no I’m so sorry. That’s difficult news. Keeping my fingers crossed for the one you have on board. When was your transfer?
