Anyone starting next month? I'll be on my 4th cycle. I've just bought 2 cycles with manchester fertility and it will be me done. I'm 36, have a low amh of 5.2 and afc 10. I'm doing the estrogen priming protocol so will take estrogen tablets for 7 days starting from day 21. I then take 450 meriofert. I'm not sure whether I am excited or nervous. It has been a year since my last cycle and I'm going to struggle with another loss but wanted to get started again also. No children yet and over 3 years trying. Have blocked tubes and endo xx

I’m so sorry @OpalMaker look after yourself and hope you can get some fun stuff planned. Sending lots of love your way 💜

uhhuhyeahok · 17/01/2025 11:41

Ah I'm so sorry @OpalMaker take care of yourself.

@Rebekah77 Thanks for asking, I'm feeling better today, the stomach pain is definitely receding. Still glad I arranged to work from home these two days.

*@FrostedFlake Yeah, my head understands that they are recommending the best course of action but my heart is screaming.
My partner probably wants to carry on but this might be my last full round too. I've really taken a mental health hit this time round.
Yes I've started with progesterone, not injections I'm doing suppositories. Which I absolutely hate, as someone who has a really delicate stomach! The progesterone is the one that gives me the most side effects I think, apart from the ovaries expanding part.
Are you doing progesterone too, just in case?

@OneWaryCat hope your first stims injection went well 😊

It went well, thank you @Geordienewbie. Might sound odd to say but currently 'enjoying' doing them, as it feels like progress. Not sure how long that will last - I'm sure the novelty will soon wear off! How was your first scan?

Mine is booked for next week. Feeling impatient today. We had a few delays on our IVF journey and now it's happening I can't quite believe it but I also just want to 'know' what my chances are and what is going on in there! Hopefully stims are working as they should.

Also, I know this isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things but the nurse who took my bloods this week really butchered my arm! It's really painful and bruised. I am usually very good with bloods but not sure I fancy her doing it again anytime soon!

uhhuhyeahok · 17/01/2025 13:39

@OneWaryCat I totally get what you mean about 'enjoying' stims. it felt like such progress, I also don't have a problem with injections so it was pretty easy for me.

emeraldhope · 17/01/2025 13:54

So my scan today wasn't terrible but not great. I have one follicle at 17.5mm, one at 13 and then the rest are 9mm and below.. they gave me the option to cancel the cycle and begin again at a higher dose or carry on over the weekend and see what happens. We decided to carry on and just hope to get 2 or 3 good eggs. Not sure if I've made the right decision or not but I didn't want to start over really

Kr0 · 17/01/2025 14:34

@OpalMaker so sorry to hear your news x

@emeraldhope completely fair enough if you’ve spent the money on meds and the cycle to try for the two. Fingers crossed they make it all the way.

We’ve had a stressful couple of days, they noticed something with my uterus on a scan so had to go and see a specialist today but he seems to think it is normal.

will need a GA on my egg collection due to endo on my ovary as well but they are hopeful they can get round it to retrieve some eggs and most likely a freeze all due to possible ohss but we did know that was a high chance for us.

hope everyone else is doing well. Sorry you’re still in pain @Rebekah77

Lozzy000 · 17/01/2025 14:58

@OpalMaker I am so so sorry. I feel so much sympathy for the pain you're going through. Look after yourself, be kind to yourself, and don't feel the need to rush with next steps xxxx

Lozzy000 · 17/01/2025 15:03

@emeraldhope I think you've made the right decision. You've already invested time and money so why not keep going over the weekend to see. I reckon you'd regret it otherwise... the 13 and 9mm follicles could easily grow to a good size in a few days! Have you another scan on Monday?

I've got my 4th scan on Monday. Had one on Wednesday and follicles are still growing but soooo slowly as I'm on a much smaller dose of stims this time around. I had 3 follicles (low AMH over here!) at only 4,5,6mm after 6 days of stims. Upped my dose to 200IU and back on Monday. Really hope they've not stopped growing. Always nerve wracking when the last cycle was cancelled...... x

emeraldhope · 17/01/2025 15:48

Thanks everyone! One of my follicles had grown from 12mm to 17.5mm in less than 2 days so I'm staying hopeful for my little 9mm and 13mm ones! I have low AMH too @Lozzy000 (7pmol) which is why I'm probably not responding too great. I'm on 225 dose of meriofert

emeraldhope · 17/01/2025 15:49

Oh and yes I have another scan Monday so that will be the decider but I will go ahead if I have at least 2. If I have 1 then I'm not sure as I'm on an access fertility package and I don't want to waste one of my cycles if it's not looking good

emeraldhope · 17/01/2025 15:53

@Kr0 sorry to hear you're having a stressful time. That sounds positive if the specialist has said it's normal. Fingers crossed you get some good little embryos to freeze and get to do your FET soon!

Geordienewbie · 17/01/2025 16:50

@OneWaryCat I completely understand. I know for me after having zero pregnancies in 2.5 years, taking all the medication now feels like I am finally making some progress. Although I am feeling very bloated after 9 days of injections! Having a bad experience with blood being taken is the worst. I get my blood drawn a lot because I have ulcerative colitis and I know how crap it feels after a bad one. Luckily it doesn’t seem to happen too often.

I think my scan was ok although the consultant didn’t give much away. I had 9 follicles that were between 11-14mm and they are expecting to do the egg collection next Wednesday. The only thing I’m worried about is my endometrial thickness as it was only 4mm. I know this is really thin and they won’t go ahead if it stays like that so I just have to hope it’s increased by Monday. Has anyone else had this? It’s something I’ve always worried about as my periods are so light and I’m trying not to spiral 😞

Lozzy000 · 17/01/2025 16:58

That's really good progression. There's definitely hope for the 9mm ones! All the very best for Monday and fingers crossed there's at least 2 so you can continue xx

Rebekah77 · 17/01/2025 18:09

@Geordienewbie that’s really good lovely
plenty of time for lining to boost fingers crossed lovely xx 😙

ha I was so bloated I got the maternity leggings out ! Glad I had those for endo bloat lol 😂

keeping fingers crossed for you for next scan @emeraldhope

been sleeping all afternoon cramps calmed a little bit , just driving me mad !? The cylogest seems be making the cramps even worse . I just keep checking for blood all the time . Clinic said nothing else they can do and to message gp . GP ringing on Monday to see if anything he can suggest but guessing no stronger meds be permitted anyway

jenk91 · 17/01/2025 18:54

How are you feeling about everything post transfer @Rebekah77 ? Except the horrible cramping which I’m sorry about 😢 really hope it eases up soon!

i was fine yesterday and today but this evening I’ve started getting period style cramps which in overthinking of course and I’m starting to spiral! 😩 i think it’s been nice in a way to have had a break from the usual ttc

Rebekah77 · 17/01/2025 19:06

Yeah I’m just in so much pain it’s driving me mental !!

otherwise am ok … I wish they did blood tests .. I’ve not bought a test since my last loss two years ago . Makes my blood run cold the thought of peeing on a stick !!

yes exactly lol 😂 this isn’t something we normally have to think about all the TTC chaos !!

hope you can relax a bit lovely @jenk91

Ive been colouring lots and finding it’s helping me relax

FrostedFlake · 17/01/2025 21:24

I’m so sorry @OpalMaker 😭 this process can be so unfair and heartbreaking! Sending you lots of love ❤️

FrostedFlake · 17/01/2025 21:26

@jenk91 how are you feeling?
do you think you will test early or wait the two weeks? I’ve never been able to wait 😅 too impatient.

jenk91 · 18/01/2025 09:54

I feel like I already know it hasn’t worked, so i have been in a terrible mood since last night 😂 I was cleaning the shower and some grout came off and it tipped me over the edge…I’m blaming it on all the hormones haha!

I probably won’t test early because I hate taking a test, but let’s see how I feel this time next week!

how are you @FrostedFlake ?

good luck to anyone expecting calls today!

Rebekah77 · 18/01/2025 14:45

Progesterone makes us cray cray lol 😂

The cramp is just driving me insane !!

deffo not tempted to test early, I don’t want to at all !! Dunno how to manage doing that then going into work in a horrible mood !

you on the dreaded suppository too @jenk91

lovelivelaugh63 · 18/01/2025 19:33

@Rebekah77 during ivf, and weeks before it what changes did you make to your day to day life.

What vitamins were you taking?

And what food/diet did you have?

Rebekah77 · 18/01/2025 19:44

Honestly lovely this has been 18 months of prep since my last laparoscopy so we both made huge changes ! How much it helped anything I don’t know 😅I thought we would of done this a year ago but it’s dragged on

Regular accupuncture
saw fertility dietican at clinic then privately
pretty intense supplements
boosted probiotic foods
lost weight due to bmi criteria
other half stopped his creatine & adopted Mediterranean diet
I follow meal plan from my dietican

Everyone is so so different but this regime helped my endo many and also ulcerative colitis so worked on reducing inflammation

@lovelivelaugh63 xx
