Hi all,

I know there is a November thread but most ladies seem further ahead. I’m waiting for AF to show (4 days if she behaves) and then start stims

This is my first cycle so would love to go through this with as many as possible.

36yr old, AMH 1.9, AFC 3 and severe MFI. We’re having IVF with ICSI, DP is providing a sample next week as well to be frozen as a precaution incase he doesn’t produce many on the day.

Much love to all the incredibly brave ladies on this journey ❤️

@Confusedddddddd oh hopefully yours is Wednesday so! It's hard trying to make plans with all the uncertainty isn't it?

@ivfjourneyandme hope it arrives soon! Mine was late last cycle, so delaying the start of down reg and I was so annoyed.

I've got ...something... it's not really a period yet but maybe by tonight it will be. I'm excited

Fingers crossed!!!

Yeah, I've reached the point where I'd say it's a proper period now. Called the clinic and as it's right on the cut off time between today or tomorrow counting as the first day, they first said to mark it as tomorrow but then with fitting the dates she changed her mind and said to use today as first day.
On day 3 (thursday) I will start with injections and on Monday I'll have an appointment and Ultrasound to find out how it's going, how to continue, etc. I'll then ask when they expect to do the egg collection and embryo transfer as DH will need to get some time off work (I'm currently out of work anyway)

ivfjourneyandme · 26/11/2024 17:37

@Omgdnswv that’s amazing! Please keep us posted.

How is everyone else getting on?

So I've had 4 injections now and I'm not really feeling bloated, or anything much at all really! A little bit worried that maybe I'm not responding too well or that it's not working somehow. Have my first scan tomorrow so will see but is anyone else experiencing much at this point?

Confusedddddddd · 27/11/2024 12:02

@Magix86 I'd said in a previous post that I'd gained a load of weight but a couple of days ago that all came off - think it was just because I had a takeaway pizza at the weekend. I have had a few twinges in my ovaries but I usually do on a normal cycle between days10-15 which I think is due to the fact I have 4 cysts.
I'm also a bit worried now it might not be working or my dose is too low, especially since my meds were much cheaper than expected.
I spoke to a friend who's been through it and she had absolutely 0 symptoms and her EC had to be brought forward as it was working too well! So I think it's normal not to have any symptoms.

Magix86 · 27/11/2024 12:08

Hi @Confusedddddddd thanks for sharing this. I had read about your initial weight gain and was worried I hadn't had that! It's such a complex thing to go through isn't it. I think I've also had a few tiny twinges here and there but I didn't know what to put it down to and didn't know if it was all just in my head 😅
I've also read of people on here getting a good number of eggs with very little symptoms, and also that the second week of stims can be where you notice it more, so I'll try not to worry too much at this point.
When is your scan?

Confusedddddddd · 27/11/2024 13:31

@Magix86 yeh I think symptoms willl become more apparent as time goes on, I think the trigger also causes some symptoms. I'm planning on working from home after the trigger.

1st scan is tomorrow too! Fingers crossed for us both that it goes well!

Magix86 · 27/11/2024 13:36

@Confusedddddddd ahh that's great! Fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow too 🤞🏻hopefully it can put both our minds at ease

Idabelle · 27/11/2024 13:50

@Magix86 I've had 5 injections now and I'd definitely say I feel bloated but not so much I can't do normal things if you know what I mean? Also, twisting movements feel a bit weird.

I do have PCOS though and my consultant told me I am definitely going to get OHSS but their goal is to make sure I just get it mildly so not sure it's a good thing I'm feeling this way this early tbh.

Magix86 · 27/11/2024 14:30

@Idabelle thanks for sharing! I wonder if you're feeling it more because you probably have a lot more follicles growing with pcos. Really hope it doesn't get too much more uncomfortable for you, but if they've said OHSS is a definite I'd imagine (hope!) that they will do whatever they can to avoid this being too much.
When is your scan due? Sounds like you're also on the same timings as me and @Confusedddddddd

Idabelle · 27/11/2024 15:05

@Magix86 yeah I think so, reading about it I think this is probably the mild OHSS and if it stays much the same as this until trigger (when I expect it to get a bit worse) then I'm fine with that!

My scan is Friday, feels a long time to wait to find out how things are going.

Good luck to you and @Confusedddddddd on your scans tomorrow! Let us know how you get on!

Cosyseason1234 · 27/11/2024 15:19

Hi all! Just wanted to jump in and say don’t worry too much about symptoms/no symptoms from stims I didn’t have anything but abit of bloating (and cramping from about day 7) and I had loads of follicles!

Had egg collection this morning and got 18 eggs very pleased 🥰

also @Idabelle i was high risk for OHSS and they gave me a different trigger shot in the end because of the amount of follicles and high estrogen levels. I was sad at first that I can’t have a fresh transfer but now I’ve had a few days to reflect I’m glad to have abit of a break, mentally and physically.

good luck to all ❤️

Magix86 · 27/11/2024 15:23

@Idabelle thanks! Will update you tomorrow 😊
@Cosyseason1234 18 eggs is amazing 💖 you must be so pleased! Sorry you won't get to a fresh transfer but I've read a lot about letting your body rest ready for a frozen transfer, so hopefully that will be a better outcome for you.

ivfjourneyandme · 27/11/2024 16:08

Period finally come! Injections start tomorrow. First scan on Monday 😁

Magix86 · 27/11/2024 16:10

Yay @ivfjourneyandme ! 😃 hope the first injection goes well! Keep us posted

Idabelle · 27/11/2024 16:21

@Cosyseason1234 wow 18 eggs is great! Hope you're feeling ok after egg collection?

I'm in a same sex marriage and we are doing reciprocal ivf (my eggs, she carries) so it was always the plan that we would freeze all so at least there was no disappointment there for me.

@ivfjourneyandme yay! Good luck with the first injection!

Cosyseason1234 · 27/11/2024 17:45

@Idabelle reciprocal ivf is amazing! Fair play,so good that you can both be involved. They are really on the ball with tracking OHSS and keeping the risk minimal for you,I took a non HCG trigger which is apparently a lot safer when u are risky.

Thank you I’ve got everything crossed for fertilisation 🥰 I was nervous for EC but genuinely it was fine, the last thing I remember is the first drug going in and then I woke up in recovery with my boyfriend there. I’m abit sore now but nothing unmanageable.

Idabelle · 27/11/2024 19:39

@Cosyseason1234 yes, it is amazing, it's such a great option for us.

I was a bit taken back when he said I'd definitely get OHSS but I suppose the fact they're aware of the risk and are choosing meds accordingly is a good sign!

Glad you're feeling ok, hoping for lots of embryos for you!

OrientalPinkLily · 27/11/2024 23:46

Hi all, ok if I join in? I started injections today, I am on short protocol and I will be taking meriofert and ganirelix (starts on day 5). My first scan is on Wednesday the 4th, which is day 8 of treatment.
My period was late this month, so annoying, when you want it to come on time (or even early), it decides to be late... no big deal, it's just the stress and the urge to start the process.
It's our first ivf round and it's with icsi as we suffer from MFI.
I have a 2.5 year old daughter that we conceived naturally (against all odds) but we were not able to conceive again since.
I hope everyone is doing well and good luck with your scans tomorrow @Confusedddddddd and @Magix86
Good luck with the first injection @ivfjourneyandme

Confusedddddddd · 28/11/2024 11:19

Had my scan - slightly better than I expected. 5 really good size follicles, 4 decent ones, and another 4 small ones that may or may not catch up.

At the last 3 scans over the last year my afc has been 9 so I might have up to 4 bonus eggs.

Nurse said everything is looking great, but for some reason I'm still feeling very stressed about it all, I really want EC done now so things are out of my control if that makes sense as at the moment I'm overanalysing every twinge, and worrying I'm doing too much and should be relaxing!

Magix86 · 28/11/2024 12:01

@Confusedddddddd how strange! I'm very similar to you - I had an initial AFC of 8 but today they've seen 14 🙂 some larger ones, biggest is 14mm and some smaller which I'm hoping will catch up. Staying on the same dose of 150 ovaleap and another scan Saturday.

I just did my fyremadel injection and it's really swollen and red and it stings!! Has anyone else here had that? They said to expect a bee sting like reaction so I'm assuming it's normal but has been a bit of a shock seeing it lol

OrientalPinkLily · 28/11/2024 13:39

@Confusedddddddd @Magix86 good results from the scans! Very happy for both of you!
Did they tell roughly when they think EC will be based on this first monitoring scan?

Magix86 · 28/11/2024 13:55

Thanks @OrientalPinkLily 😊
My EC has always been pencilled in for the 5th. I think they will make the decision at my scan on Saturday tho. I'm a little worried that if I've already got follicles measuring 14 and 13mm they might be too big and over mature by then? But the smaller ones might have a chance to catch up maybe. I'm finding something new to worry about every single day lol

Idabelle · 28/11/2024 14:44

@Confusedddddddd @Magix86 sounds like both scans went well, congrats!

I'm so impatient for mine tomorrow, but at least today is my busiest day in work, keeps me distracted.

I know exactly what you mean about finding something new to worry about every day, there's just so much uncertainty with it all!
