Hi all 👋

I have a failed first transfer (fresh) and have one embryo banked from my first retrieval.

I’ll be doing my first FET with it in March. Anyone else joining me for the wait?

I’m still waiting to find out what went wrong with my fresh transfer. Hopefully next time is the charm!

Everything looking good 🥰. Finally feel excited now.
Wish I could post on the nub theory Facebook page but I know someone on it and don’t want to announce yet 🥲.

@JulesIVF fantastic news!!!
There are multiple nubs groups on FB. I have also seen lots of people posting 'for a friend' on them. Maybe you could get someone you have already told to post it?

JulesIVF · 29/05/2024 15:08

Thanks @RibbetRibbetRibbet 🥰. I’ll have another wee look for some pages. I feel so strongly that it’s a boy. Not completely clued up on the nubs but does look similar to other boy photos.
Are you going to find out?

RibbetRibbetRibbet · 29/05/2024 15:12

@JulesIVF I tried but apparently the nub wasn't imaged in my photo. So I'm just going to have to wait for the 20 week scan :')

RibbetRibbetRibbet · 01/06/2024 12:31

@JulesIVF we caved and did a speak peak blood test at a centre. Hopefully we will find out in the next few days!

Runner77 · 02/06/2024 05:07

Very happy to report my scan went really well and everything looked normal. It’s a very big relief!

So glad to hear everyone else’s good news too x

JulesIVF · 02/06/2024 21:20

@Runner77 great, happy to hear it 😊.

@RibbetRibbetRibbet exciting!! Keep us posted. I joined a few more nub theory groups. A few ‘no nub visible’, a few boy guesses and one or two girl guesses 😂. Think we will book a private scan at the end of June as our birthdays are a few days apart so will make a day of it 🥰. Husband didn’t want to find out initially but he has caved haha.

RibbetRibbetRibbet · 04/06/2024 11:06

The sneak peak test said boy :)

JulesIVF · 05/06/2024 09:39

@RibbetRibbetRibbet congrats 🥰

Runner77 · 05/06/2024 13:20

Aww, that’s lovely @RibbetRibbetRibbet

Just wondering if you are all showing yet/have little bumps? Mine is low down and looks more like I’ve been eating all the pies 😂. Definitely looks rounder in the evenings.

JulesIVF · 05/06/2024 18:25

@Runner77 😂😂😂 same here. I think I just look like I’ve piled on the weight. Also more visible in the evening but kind of just feels like bloating. My trousers are snug already.

Copenhagener · 06/06/2024 07:48

@Runner77 yes! I’ve been asked by every BnB owner here on holiday if I’m pregnant and given seats on buses. So I think I’ll need to tell work when I’m back next week! I thought it would be just bloating that’d disappear post-progesterone weaning, but I think it’s actually also a bit of a bump! I was never super thin before, but my stomach didn’t look like this! 😶

Curious about when is everyone planning to tell their jobs?

@RibbetRibbetRibbet congratulations! How does the sneak peek test work?

P.s. if anyone is craving aperol spritz, Crodino is a great alcohol-free alternative I discovered here! I’d say it hits 95% of the way.

@Runner77 I have definitely started showing but it is just bloating! I told my classes at school but I think they had already guessed.
@Copenhagener it's a blood test that detects y chromosomes. If you have any in your blood then you are having a boy. I had it done at a clinic and apparently it has a 97% success rate. You can do it at home but there is a high chance a male partner could contaminate the results!

How is everyone's morning sickness? I threw up for the first time on Sunday and again last night, it seems a bit of a funny time for throwing up to start at 14 weeks!

JulesIVF · 06/06/2024 18:03

@Copenhagener Oh ill need to try this!

I actually got this in Asda the other day. Can’t say it’s the best dupe, but it does the trick 😂

Lovely to hear you are all starting to show little bumps. Mine is definitely there but I can still mostly hide it in my normal clothes. I’m picking up some maternity wear tomorrow which is being passed on for free; feels like quite an exciting milestone!

@Copenhagener thats a very cute little bump! I told my direct manager quite early on but informed HR after the 12 week scan as I wanted to ensure I availed myself of certain legal protections asap. Otherwise I haven’t announced it widely at work. Will start to tell colleagues over the next few weeks.

@JulesIVF and @RibbetRibbetRibbet I hear you on the bloating front! The last two days I felt quite bloated, and had an expanding/stretching feeling all day as though I had eaten too much. I feel normal again today. Perhaps there are days of bigger growth spurts?

JulesIVF · 10/06/2024 16:22

When does the second trimester energy burst kick in because I am paralysed at this point. I work from home on Mondays and I’ve been horizontal on the couch with my laptop ALL day. So lethargic.

Copenhagener · 10/06/2024 20:17

@JulesIVF I am feeling generally better (since week 12) but still am in bed by 9pm most nights! Today I also threw up for the first time in the pregnancy and slept from 3-7pm. Oops. I felt much better last week on vacation. I think the sun/warmth/lots of fresh air helped because I’ve felt worse again since I got back.

I’m super lucky that I only go to the office 1 or 2 times a week; I don’t think I’d have survived full-time office work in the first trimester. Proud of you for managing that!

I have my first ‘hospital’ midwife appointment this week. Do any of you know if they use the Doppler there?

OP posts:
JulesIVF · 10/06/2024 21:31

@Copenhagener that’s great you feel better! I’ve felt quite sicky today and yesterday and havent had any sickness or nausea until now. Hope you manage to sleep tonight still after that napathon 😂.
Im only in the office two days a week as well and thank god 😅!!! Even those two days are a massive effort.

I think they do. I have my 16 week hospital apt next Friday and was told by my midwife that they will use one then. We haven’t heard the heartbeat yet so looking forward to that 🥰.

Copenhagener · 14/06/2024 11:32

Will anyone else get another private scan before the 20 week scan? I’m considering one at 16-ish weeks (start of July).

It’s not so much anxiety, but curiosity about seeing baby once more before 20 week scan in August. That seems so far away right now as I had my dating scan at 11+5.

Had my first midwife appointment but she said they don’t check the baby’s heartbeat until the second midwife appointment - which isn’t until 12 September. Otherwise; she was really nice, and mainly asked questions about my health and background and if I would be breastfeeding. She also recommended an extra iron supplement, additional to my regular pre-natal; so I’ve started taking that.

@Copenhagener I’m with a private obstetrician, with appointments roughly once a month and she scans me at every appointment. I find it very reassuring to have regular scans. I think you should do what you feel comfortable with, and if that’s another scan, go for it. After all it shouldn’t be too long after the 20 week scan when we can start feeling baby so will be less reliant on scans for reassurance.

JulesIVF · 16/06/2024 09:39

@Copenhagener we had a scan yesterday. Was our 5 year anniversary so decided to go find out the gender as we had one more free scan left as part of our IVF package.
We are having a wee boy 🥰.
His legs were kicking all over the place, was such a funny wee scan. That will be us though til the 20 week one. Hopefully start feeling him soon 💙.

Do whatever feels right, it’s great reassurance and such a special wee moment every time . I say go for it if you’re eager to see her again before 20 week 🥰.

Copenhagener · 02/07/2024 09:53

Hi ladies 👋

How is everyone doing? I had a scan today and baby girl is doing good. Lots of kicking but found out I have an anterior placenta - so I cannot feel a thing (yet). Is anyone else feeling movements yet?

She was sucking her thumb a lot which was so cute! It’s starting to feel way more real now. I’m even beginning to think about the birth.

I also told work yesterday and my boss was lovely - which was a relief as I got pregnant one month after I started.

That’s brilliant @Copenhagener, great scan photo as well. I haven’t felt any movements yet but as I understand it, we may not feel any movements until 20-22 weeks. I have a scan early next week and then the 20 week one on the 19th. I can feel my abdomen expanding, and have a little bump now. I’m waiting until the 20 week scan to tell everyone at work. Will have to keep wearing loose clothing until then.

RibbetRibbetRibbet · 15/07/2024 14:53

I had my scan today. Everything is good but my baby's tummy circumference is 98th percentile hehe. I think I'm going to be tested early for gestational diabetes because of this- I was going to be tested anyway because I have PCOS.
Is anyone else getting a gestational diabetes test?

I started feeling kicking a couple of weeks ago. I love feeling it <3.
I had my whooping cough vaccine last week. I felt incredibly rough afterwards. I had cold symptoms before and then I didn't know if it was flu or vaccine side effects. But a phonecall to a doctor was very helpful. Feeling much better now.

How is everyone else doing?
