Anyone else planning going through embryo transfer in January? Would love to hear from others on this journey.

We last did an embryo transfer in July 2022, which was unsuccessful and had a previous two transfers, one unsuccessful and one resulting in miscarriage. As those were our only embryos I've been through 2 ECs this year and now have 8 euploid embryos! It's been a long journey and I'm very hopeful for this next transfer 🤞

@botsytots hey! Woo great love it when there is a wee team of us to rally each other on. I’m actually doing medicated this round I was due to do a natural transfer last month but unfortunately ovulated too late to fit transfer in before clinic closed for Christmas 😢 so decided just to switch to medicated as my cycles are quite long and I was just being inpatient!

I really liked doing my last natural transfer though so if this one doesn’t work will definitely switch back I think to doing that. Was so much nicer not having to take medication on the run up to transfer. The only downside I found was a bit stressful testing for ovulation and I was worried incase the tests weren’t accurate! But maybe I’m just overly anxious about it all 🤣

Warrier87 · 07/01/2024 08:41

Hey all!

Is it ok to join? Have my frozen embryo transplant shortly, hopefully in a few weeks.

A bit about me - endometriosis stage 4, large cyst - 2 surgeries, failed x2 ICSI.

My next scan is Monday, hopefully above 8mm and can start the progesterone and get booked in for the transfer 🤞🏽

How's everyone's journey going?

localbunny · 07/01/2024 09:20

@botsytots ohh nice that we're doing the same - I found my last one really straightforward (minus the negative pregnancy test at the end, but hopefully not the case this time!). The doctor always reminds me that I'm not a robot, so timings can just be a little different. The hardest thing is keeping diaries flexible when you don't know the transfer date...

Good luck everyone, so nice to hear all the updates :)

botsytots · 07/01/2024 20:14

Good to hear both of your experiences of a natural transfer @Ellenn and @localbunny ! @Ellenn I can see why you've gone for medicated this time as it's so hard waiting around and it definitely seems there's a bit more uncertainty of timings with a natural FET.
I'm looking forward to less injections / medication though 😊

Welcome @Warrier87, it sounds like you've been on quite the journey. Hope the scan goes well tomorrow, keep us updated x

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in a while... we've had to skip January as the timing didn't work (natural cycle), so we'll be transferring around mid-February instead.
Just wanted to wish you all the very best of luck! I'll be following quietly to learn from your experiences, and will be keeping everything crossed for all of you!

DublinICSI · 08/01/2024 14:52

Hi all! I'd love to jump in if you don't mind...

We've been TTC for just over a year - I've got low AMH and my husband has morphology issues. We had an unsuccessful ICSI round in November, and have one embryo in the freezer that we're transferring later this month...

I've been on Fematab for the last week... have a scan next week and then scheduled in for the transfer at some stage the week of 22nd January. It all feels so much less intense than the ICSI round, that it half doesn't feel like it's happening. Feel dangerously optimistic all the same so trying to keep a clear head and just get through the next few weeks!

Hopingforno2in2024 · 10/01/2024 06:44

Good luck @DublinICSI!

I start my FET today with an injection of Gonapeptyl

HopefulHead · 11/01/2024 08:19

Hi all, hope you’re all keeping well 😘

I’m still sitting around waiting for AF to appear so I can call the clinic and book in for my first scan 😬🤞🏼

Lebe14 · 11/01/2024 11:13

Hi everyone! It's been a while and so great to see so many others joining - sounds like quite a few of us will be transferring a similar time. It's nice to be able to chat to others going through the same.

@Caubabatko really pleased to hear the oestrogen hasn't affected your mood. How is everything progressing for you?

@Lyrabee how did your transfer go on Tuesday? Are you feeling okay?

@localbunny glad to hear your scans are going well. I think you mentioned you have another today. I hope it goes / went well and everything progressing as it should.

After a long wait I finally have my first baseline scan tomorrow woo! Hoping everything looks okay so I can start on oestrogen and get this first FET on the way. My clinic said I'm likely to take 10 days of oestrogen and 5 days of progesterone as a minimum so if everything goes to plan, I assume we'll transfer wc 29 Jan.

X

localbunny · 11/01/2024 11:21

Thanks @Lebe14 - I actually just called and cancelled this cycle at the clinic as I've been fighting off a bug since last week and just not feeling in the right place to go for it. Hope your baseline goes well and you get a fabulous outcome from your first FET!

Good luck everyone, I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts!

Lebe14 · 11/01/2024 11:31

Oh no @localbunny - I'm so sorry to hear you've not been well and cancelled your transfer. Must've been a tough decision to make but sounds like the right thing to do - want to give our embryo(s) the best possible chance. Take care of yourself and hopefully you'll be feeling better to start again next cycle xxx

Lyrabee · 11/01/2024 13:19

@Lebe14 hiya! Thanks for asking! Both embryos transferred successfully and smoothly.
Just waiting around now 😌

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow!

Warrier87 · 11/01/2024 13:26

Just having a catch up through the messages.

@Lebe14 - exciting stuff! Baseline scan! Not long to go....

@localbunny - sorry to hear you feeling under the weather and had to cancel. Can imagine it's a hard decision to make. But completely agree with you, you need to be feeling at your best. So hope you feel better soon

@Lyrabee - take it nice and easy. Not long to go!

Had a scan this week. Need the lining to thicken up, so upped my estrogen. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Fingers and toes crossed for you all!

Lyrabee · 11/01/2024 13:41

@Warrier87 aaaah that happened on my last couple as well, had to wait a couple of extra days. Fingers crossed you'll be ready soon!

Lebe14 · 11/01/2024 13:45

That's so exciting @Lyrabee - time to plan in some things you really enjoy to speed up the next 11/12 days! Are you going to stick to the test date or test a little earlier?

@Warrier87 sounds like you have another scan tomorrow? If so, I hope it goes well. How long have you been taking oestrogen now and do you have a provisional transfer date?

X

botsytots · 11/01/2024 13:46

@HopefulHead I'm the exact same as you and waiting around hoping AF will arrive soon! I had a scan on Monday and my consultant said it looked like I'd only recently ovulated so I'm hoping I'm not going to be late 🙄

@Lyrabee that

OP posts:
botsytots · 11/01/2024 13:49

@Lyrabee clicked send too early by accident but was going to say that's so exciting!! Hope your two week wait goes well, look after yourself ☺️

OP posts:
DublinICSI · 11/01/2024 14:14

@Lyrabee sending lots of positive vibes your way, hope you can relax! Do you have to go back to the clinic for OTD or can you test at home?

@localbunny sorry to hear - hope you're feeling ok, but definitely sounds like the right thing to have done.

@Warrier87 that's exciting! So would your transfer be the week of 22nd? Same as mine if so...! (All going well anyway)

@Lebe14 good luck tomorrow!

HopefulHead · 12/01/2024 05:46

AF finally arrived in the night so just waiting for the clinic to open to book in our first scan 🥳
Been awake since 4am and they don’t open until 8am so I’m getting very twitchy 😂😂

Lebe14 · 12/01/2024 10:33

@HopefulHead great news! It feels so good to get the process started doesn't it.

I had my first scan this morning and all looks good so have started on progynova. Have my second scan booked in a week's time - hopefully my lining starts to thicken nicely.

HopefulHead · 12/01/2024 11:30

@Lebe14 Looks like I’ll be exactly a week after you then 😬
Definitely glad to get going, feels like we’ve been waiting forever now 🙈

Always28 · 12/01/2024 14:54

I’ve just found this thread and would love to join! Currently undergoing FET cycle - we did a collection in September and ended up with 4 grade A euploid embryos. I started on estrogen on 19 Dec but lining has taken ages to thicken. Today we went for a scan and the lining has finally got to 8mm so they’re planning the transfer for Wednesday. Trying to stay positive but realistic!

i’m 42 and have a 12 year old son from IVF. Giving this a last shot.

Hopingforno2in2024 · 12/01/2024 15:14

Sorry to hear that you are unwell @localbunny, I hope you feel better soon.

Congrats on being PUPO @Lyrabee

Glad AF arrived @HopefulHead

4 euploid embryos is amazing @Always28!

Nothing to report here, just waiting for 22 Jan.

Lyrabee · 12/01/2024 17:56

@Lebe14 good luck! I had good results on progynova for my lining

Lyrabee · 12/01/2024 17:58

@Hopingforno2in2024 thanks lovely. I've been here before and every time feels different!
